[Add To Buddy List] ?

When we go to visit a member's profile, we see the Add To Buddy List option under their name. I have been familiar with this option for a long time and have added some people to my Buddy list. But I have not yet understood what the work of this buddy list is. At first, I thought maybe it would be like the trust system like on bitcointalk. Moreover, I also thought that the users who are in the buddy list will have thier post track.
I actually want to know what is the function of adding to the buddy list.

I think it's a quite nice question because none of us know that why that exists, and to be honest most of us have added some of our friends in that buddy list.

I have also added a few members in my buddy list but so far I also don't know much that what benefits or closeness we get with members that we add as our buddies.

I believe admin, and president could enlighten us about that function of the forum because only they know that what's the purpose of that buddy list.

According to a quick search I did (convert to English) , the result said that this feature is still experimental and we don`t know the usage yet because the admin has not written anything about it.

But I also hope that the admin visits your thread and clears the air as to what the "buddylist" is used for, and just as @SamReomo said, I also have a few users that I have added to my list, but still, I don`t see any difference between their posts and those that are not on my list.

I have also seen this option for users profile but I have not used the option because as you said I don't even know the function of it and the people that can answer this question are admin, Freemind and other legendaries in the forum. At first I thought that the (Add To Buddy List) is meant for those who have default the system. And these little features of the forum have to be known. And for you bring this good question. Buddy List is a way to arrange users into specific lists just like Ignore List, and then you can take a specific action for friends in that list such as “Hide messages posted by members on my ignore list.”

In the future, if there is a request, features may be added, such as displaying their posts first or activating alerts on them.

I was also going to ask this if what is the true purpose of Buddy list because i tried checking actual adding features seems to not answering me , so i think Admin needs to give us some light about this one.
the other one is already given because i already used ignore list and its like in other forum that you will not see their post again.

Well, this is actually a very good question to ask, as I myself also have come across this feature more than a thousand times, and like the op, I have actually added alot of users to my buddy list, even the admin of this forum, including the campaign managers and so many others, but then, never really saw any difference or the effect this has on the profiles I've added as a buddy to my list.
This is something I once wanted to ask but I got occupied with something else and that was how I completely forgot to ask the question.

Would be nice if we would get a reply of the admin on this thread, I possibly would assume this feature is still under construction at the moment, and in the future, there will be a way by which posts or comments from users in our buddy list are given special place in our individual accounts or profile, but this can only be confirmed or clarified by the admin himself.

It would be amazing if we could see their last posts somewhere. It would work like a "feed". It would make navigating in this forum much easier.

Right now I don't see any benefit of creating a Buddy List in this forum, but it would be an interesting idea to somehow connect it with Karma and Trust settings.
My Ignore list is slowly growing and I would like to have something that is going in different direction.
Maybe admin can think of something interesting for this.

The buddy list is an experimental feature that is still in development which will have various functions. The administrator has the buddy list on his to-do list, but I think he has other priorities now. For now, the function of the buddy list is to know which users added to this new feature are online. We can find these users on the main page of the forum, at the bottom, with nicknames in bold. We'll have to wait for the administrator to add new features and make an official announcement when the job is done.

Yes, I also saw that the buddy list is very similar to the ignore list, but there is no special feature in the buddy list, just like the user is ignored in the ignore list. Although there are some people on my ignore list on bitcointalk but no one is on the ignore list here so far.
However, what I found in the use of buddy list is that many times many users like us, so this buddy list is like keeping a note of them.
