Gambling discussion / Re: can gambling be a career?
« Last post by Rembroman on Today at 06:42:33 PM »
I think so, if you approach it systematically and without gambling. I earn this way on Fairspin, there is an opportunity to staking won tokens there

I'm currently on a loan, not on a platform but on a person on the other forum Bitcointalk the member has a loan business, and the interest is low compared to banks, when making a loan choose USDT so you will never have an issue with volatility and the transaction fee is not that high.

How high are rates in your own country if that's the case?
Not anything against the loans on BCT as I took a quick one from shasan a year ago too but, usually the rates here are 5-7.5% per year in EURO.
There is nobody giving you a loan on 1% a month on BCT.

It's a little strange that you want a crypto loan considering that you had problems with a regular bank - and everything that has to do with cryptocurrencies potentially has x times greater risk than a loan you would take from a bank.

If you manage to get into trouble with a commercially regulated bank, now imagine the troubles you can get with an online platform outside your jurisdiction!
Plus with a bank you owe them money, with a crypto loan they already have your money, it's up to them if they give you back!

General Discussion / Re: Have you won anything online?
« Last post by Cryptsafe on Today at 06:37:14 PM »
It is with good and accomplished feelings when one realizes they had won something tangible and meaningful be it online or offline. But in this case OP placed emphasis online. If you would agree with me, airdrops are contested for in the sense that there are some task attached to fulfillment purpose before the rewards are distributed to those who had won the airdrop contest. So in that case, I have been able to take part in airdrops at my early age in crypto and I have won many airdrops  same way too others including casinos were I played games and won and also otherwise. Most of the airdrops have task attached to them, which every contestant must fulfill accordingly to be part of the winners to be airdropped their rewards.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Beginning of the Dumping Market?
« Last post by Aanuoluwatofunmi on Today at 06:35:00 PM »
That we experience a little of dumping in the crypto market in general doesn't mean we are done already with the bill market, this season is currently seen as a bullrun season whereby we waited in anticipation of what may comes in after the halving experience, which many believed to see the bullrun continues anytime from now to a new all time high, we have been in the dip for long but ever since the beginning of this year, things have never remained the same with bear market.

Other Popular Cryptos / Coins / Is Blockchain trilemma unsolvable?
« Last post by Smcchamp on Today at 06:32:47 PM »
Can we finally overcome the Blockchain trilemma? This long-standing challenge - balancing security, scalability, and decentralization - has been a major hurdle for blockchain technology. Despite numerous projects claiming to solve it. Solana, avax, Bitkub chain, etc. the issue persists. Ethereum's recent Denali/ upgrade, for instance, focused on scalability, and gas fees improvements. As blockchain technology evolves, will we eventually resolve the trilemma, or will it remain an ongoing challenge?

Does anyone have experience with crypto loans? Are there platforms known for having better terms and lower interest rates? ;D

I'm currently on a loan, not on a platform but on a person on the other forum Bitcointalk the member has a loan business, and the interest is low compared to banks, when making a loan choose USDT so you will never have an issue with volatility and the transaction fee is not that high.

There are times when you need to pay the loan but you cannot because of the high cost of transaction fees and the loan coin has already increased its value that you end up losing.

Cryptocurrency Trading / Re: Hold and trade which is best for you?
« Last post by Rubel007 on Today at 06:28:06 PM »
If you hold established coins, then there is a good chance of gaining decent profit in the long run. It would be better to avoid shit coins.

Trading is also beneficial, if you are a experienced trader.
Unfortunately, in my opinion, there is no good coin other than Bitcoin. Bitcoin has very good characteristics, with very high demand and limited supply, which makes me confident that Bitcoin can be stored for quite a long time.
Trading and holding are two different things. One is instant buying and selling and the other is holding. There are also some pros and cons to trading in the crypto space. But among all these advantages and disadvantages the most important to me is that if a trader can trade well then he can earn some cash but there is more risk involved. Due to a small mistake, you have to face a big loss. But a holder has no such problem. If he can hold for a long time then he will definitely be able to earn profit. Those who hold Bitcoin for a long time they will not loss.

Bitcoin mining is business and if an operator could not make good money then the business would be looking somewhere else and I am sure that there will be smaller countries that can welcome miners with open arms like El Salvador or Paraguay, for that matter.

They can welcome them but they can't substitute the US and lawmakers in the US know that!

For example, Salvador is net importer of energy, and it gets a ton via gas burning, they have a FSRU ship anchored right there for this purpose:
https://lngprime.com/americas/el-salvador-fsru-completes-second-sts-lng-op/54554/

It's a thing of extra capacity available and not many countries can say ok, let's give you 50 TWH of electricity now!

Plus, there is a thing of cheapness, not only do these countries have to have extra energy but also cheap as hell!
Riot and Mara in their SEC forms have stated a price of 2 cents to 4 cents per kwh, those countries would need to offer just as much, and if we exclude a few little ones only Russia and Canada would comply with this!

And from here things get more complicated, the big guys are all listed on the stock exchanges, and that's how they secure financing, how would it look for a company listed on Nasdaq to move operations to Russia? Or Iran? Or China? Or...like half of the globe...
Plus, there is the tax thing, you don't get the same tax breaks as a foreign company in Bolivia, tax rebates, tax deductions on gear, tax deduction on losses, those are far more than 10%, big guys like hut8 or riot are running a constant loss

Pretax Income
$ -597.27M/$ -591.85M/$ -521.30M/$ -15.18M/$ -12.67M/$ -20.45M
Tax Provision
$ -5.09M/$ -5.09M/$ -11.75M/$ 254.00K/$ 0.00/$ -143.00K

A negative tax provision means Riot has paid only one year $254k, but they have claims for 20 million in deductions.

The big miners are trapped in the US, that's clear, they will either deal with the 10% increase, which is not that big, or try to optimize other costs.

For a quick TLDR
It's really really complicated!

Are miners not taxed at all before in USA?

Not if you're not making a profit....
