Ask a Moderator / Re: Moving the topic to the wrong board ?
« on: Today at 02:10:36 PM »
We all make mistakes. Anyway, let's wait and see what TomPluz says. After that, the topic will return to the Bitcoin board if necessary.
I think it's a mistake. The mod definitely have less idea about TornadoCash. He saw some discussion about Ethereum and thought it's about Ethereum. This forum is new and many mods, in fact most of the mods would not be as experienced as we have in the other forum. This type of mistakes are tolerable but at the same time mods need themselves to upgrade too. Seek knowledge, you will get it.

Obviously, he decided to change this but in a rather wrong way. Yesterday (8 April) he wrote a total of 68 posts, with short breaks, usually one post every 2-5 minutes. (Post history https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=36763;area=showposts;start=0 )
It reminds me the day on WO thread LOL
When Bitcoin price is breaking a ATH or moving up after a long sideways then we used to go crazy. You make a posts in a few minutes there are several more posts then you reply them. It used to continue for hours 😂

Keep in mind that a spammer would not have had time to write more than 5,000 posts, his account would previously be full of negative badges and probably the most striking of them, L.Q.P., additionally, that user would also be in the "Under Review" group. They are neutral because they are badges that are obtained as achievements unlocked on the forum. Think that the "super active" badge can be for a specific activity, we cannot write 25, or 50 posts every day, but sometimes it is possible.
I know that mister president  ;D
5000 posts was just an example, but I see some members posting only news article all the time, so it is not impossible to happen.
I like the badges here and they can be improved, maybe added few more.

A suggestion can be made to the administrator about what you say about the list.
Should I write this as separate suggestion, or president will inform admin, he has more power I think ;)
Excuse my illiteracy, where do I find the reputation board or a similar board like reputation that we have in Bitcointalk. You two need to see each others there LOL

Forum related / Re: ✅ Stake your Bitcoin address
« on: Today at 01:49:08 PM »
Maybe an alternative method here would be allowing users to also sign messages with ethereum, as this an altcoin forum.
Is someone actually using signing and verifying messages on other blockchains?
I never heard about that and I never saw this was possible in all altcoin wallets I used.
I suppose this would be possible with bitcoin forks like Litecoin, BCH and others, but I am not sure about ethereum.
You can with Ethereum too. That's not a problem.

It is also in my todo list make a tool similar to brainwallet to verify and a sign messages, which also accepts segwit (brain wallet doesnt)
In your data-science? It will be a very useful tool and this will also increase your visitors too.

Meanwhile, here I am staking my address.

Hello, our referral system is still in the test phase. We've been delayed in our development, which explains why it's not yet available.
You provide API. My understanding with this API anyone can create their own mixer and use your mixing algorithm, your assets just like Jambler. What difference your referral program will have other than API require programming skills and the referral program will require a unique link to earn?

Forum related / Re: Why is this common here.
« on: May 11, 2024, 03:52:46 PM »
I have just a simple and straight question to know maybe it was said here that users should end their post with "your opinion will be appreciated" because I have seen many users end their post with that statement, when they can in fact ignore the urge to put that in as it is unnecessary as users will always share their opinion.
I am not spending time on the forum regularly and read a little posts. Where is the problem is a user or a group of user use the statement? There are specific style for each members. Sometime an investigation can help to find if these are alts or not.

Forum related / Re: Badges that encourage spamming the forum..
« on: May 03, 2024, 05:08:06 AM »
25 posts in day is overwhelming how much more for 50, well, unless you are a mods who is regularly moving threads since its counted as new post as i presumed the same on bitcointalk.
On bitcointalk in a good day I can even make 75 posts LOL

The number always should not be a scale to measure the spam. A one word post can be something very interesting and on topic where a wall of text like JJG [he is not a shitposter obviously] can be a spammer.

Forum related / Re: Time offset
« on: May 03, 2024, 05:03:38 AM »
I never use UTC time for anything but I think this is the same as GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) time.
GMT is a time zone but UTC is not a time zone. UTC is a standard, its based in your clock time and the time zone worldwide. UTC is used in technical fields as to maintain a standard where all country use GMT as the time zone.

Forum related / Re: Reorganizing forum boards & subboards
« on: April 14, 2024, 12:48:56 AM »
I don't know when it was changed but I noticed this just yesterday. As part of the ongoing reorganization, it looks like admin decided that only top 4 coins with the highest engagement/interaction will have their own board while the rest were demoted to sub-board of Other Popular Coins.

It's faster to navigate now.
I saw the post from OP and revisited the home page. The Cryptocurrency Ecosystem section now looks very organized. Further Discussions section is still confusing. Trash and Quarantine & Test Area means same to me. Entrepreneurship, Business & Online Work Forum board is covered by Marketplace section already. There are still many improvements cam be done to make the homepage makes more simple.

Overall, nice to see movements.

Forum related / Re: Should reputation follow you here?
« on: April 06, 2024, 12:06:53 AM »
I still think we all deserve second chances, but the users of this forum deserve a safe and quiet place to talk about cryptocurrencies.
I have no problem to give many chances but imagine a user on Bitcointalk who scammed 1 BTC or a large amount of money like that guy named the young millionaire. If TYM teleports his account in this forum, and pretends like he is okay, I don't think others will feel safer.

A user can have many accounts and as long as it is not representing their Teleported account and not violating any rules of the forum then I think he is okay but if the user connect an account using teleportation then he is representing his previous reputation in this forum too.

Forum related / Re: Forum Time?
« on: March 31, 2024, 11:51:45 PM »
Testing forum time UTC+1 now is 22:51

Edit
UTC+1
usually it should display  on top of each page
It seems it's forum time not UTC+1 but UTC. The original post I made at 22:51 UTC+1 but forum time shows 11:51:45 PM which is 23:51:45.

More edit:
It's not UTC, not UTC+1 but it's UTC+2 LOL
Check the time at UTC+2: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/timezone/utc2
Now check the time at the top.

What is different, if someone is a proven scammer. If you see someone who try to teleport and you have enough evidence, we'll look at it immediately and if we'll agree with facts, then corresponding actions can be made not waiting until he will try to scam someone here.

Probably that person would not teleport, he would use a different username.

However,  if proven to be the same person, he will probably be tagged.
A scammer will be a scammer no matter what platform he is in. The scammer should have the red circle under his username to mark his a bad actor of the forum.

The same logic to follow, if a user has good reputation on bitcointalk since his account is teleported, his altcointalks account is reflecting the good reputation from bitcointalk.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: LIST - Bitcoin mixers & Tumbler services! ✅✅
« on: March 31, 2024, 11:31:55 PM »
I partially agree. However  , as this information comes from icopress which has a lot more information than us about those services, I certainly wouldn't use that mixer. Specially when there are other more reliable options
I am still looking forward to a source to read and verify the news by myself. It's strange that there are no public information available to read. The latest news I found online about yomix is to emerges the top bitcoin mixer. For a mixer, 2 or 5 BTC is just a small amount.

I think we're talking about handling the mixer more than the user experience. I'll ask @NotATether for more details, he already has a list and recently deleted these mixers from it.
bitmixlist.org does not have it now. @NotATether, can we have your source at least?
