Neo is just a share of the Company. It generates revenue of about 7% per year.
Gas powers the network. You will get payed in Gas if you own Neo.
There are special perks if you own a certain amount of Gas/Neo. (Bookkeeper)

   Transaction speed. Neo can support up to 10 000 transactions/second. Ethereum can do 20/second.

   Languages. Neo supports Java, #C, Python (AI here we go) and many more. They are planning to integrate JavaScript as well (bye bye lisk). Ethereum can do Solidity.

Advantage is that you don't pay comission to transfer NEO, gas, tokens from wallet to wallet. No exchanges comission for withdraw (binance, Kucoin).
Disadvantage is that NEO is not divisable.

And in addition to these Neo advantages, i think that because of the ways, and how a smart contract operates, it requires a high level of trust, thus blockchain technology goes hand in hand with smart contracts as it provides that highly trustworthy system in a decentralized environment.

Staking neo give you gas, and its very good, you get income without doing anything, i very like this concept, and also i like neo concept for sending token, you dont need gas or neo to sending your token

And that can be an issue for neo. Do remember that there is one time whereby the neo blockchain was stopped because of power failure. This had shown that neo was too centralised and thus such thing can happen to neo. It is opposite of the idea of decentralise that neo is trying to build on. This definitely had brought a lot of concerns from people.

And one of the biggest advantage of Neo in my opinion , is that, there are no transaction fees on the NEO network, although there could potentially be in the future. However, GAS tokens are used to power smart contracts, and the fees are paid to NEO holders. A lack of transaction fees is intended to keep the network growing, which benefits all NEO holders.

Spotcoin, an upcoming NEO based exchange (and more), has been working very hard with their private funds raised over the past few months, and now they revealed they will be launching their product, the SPOTCOIN exchange, within 2 months instead of somewhere next year (read the full update here (https://medium.com/spotcoin/spotcoins-digital-exchange-to-launch-in-december-46db43c74721)). The good part, owning their tokens mean you get two types of dividends. One is related to the exchange fees. The other to their secondary sources of revenue (hydro-mining, otc). Another thing I like is that they are from Georgia (the country) and they are working hard to get the crypto adoption ball going....and are succeeding in it. Another huge aspect that will drive adoption? They will offer 10 fiat currencies from the start, so it will be easy to many to buy crypto....make it as easy as possible :).

The fun thing about this all? They they started their ICO last week and it runs until the 27th of October. Yes, they may not be getting the many millions some projects easily got back in January, but still they are doing great, so many people actually believe this could go somewhere :).

You are right, another advantage is that NEO Coins can only be stored in 1 full / round unit. Not like Bitcoin or Ethereum which can be broken down into decimal numbers.
For now, NEO transactions can be done for free without GAS fees. This is to attract companies to use NEOs.

I think NEO is one of the best smart contract platform.
I also agree time will tell, If NEO would  have good future and more popular than now.
Maybe NEO is a very fast blockchain and it is convenient to make smart contracts on it, but it does not become more popular in the crypto market because of this, here popularity is measured by the growth of the coin and NEO does not really want to grow and develop in this direction, they are satisfied with their place in the market and they are not interested in popularizing their coin.

Neo having few advantages over other cryptocurrencies are fast transaction, speeds, low fees, enabling multiple programming languages and it's regulatory compliances. Be a governance tokens and gas to power networks etc..

I really don't have enough confidence to continue to choose NEO for my investment portfolio in this cycle.
