You can buy ripple and litecoin too if you want so you can have three coins at the same time. But don't forget about the other cheaper coin because that coin can increase in anytime too ;D Make sure you analyze the coin so you will not regret to buy the coin and you can get that coin with the low price.

For me, I would stay in ethereum. The only problem why the price of ethereum is low it's because of bitmain creates an ASIC ethereum miner that is why the supply is increased which lowers the price of ethereum if ethereum is ASIC resistant I think the price of ethereum still around $800 value.

I think it depends on how much money you have because if you don't have big money, then you might invest in ripple only because ripple is at a low price. And if you have $10k then you can buy one bitcoin, then you can buy litecoin and ripple, and I am sure that you can get huge ripple amount in your wallet.
