Reputation, Scams & Phishing / Re: What is going on with Tumbler Mixer?
« Last post by TomPluz on Today at 02:24:14 PM »
I'm not trying to create panic or alarm anyone, but is it possible that they have shut down the service (even temporarily) for some reason?.

That can be a big possibility and since the people of Tumbler is not communicating or issuing any official statement then we can only speculate on this development. Let's hope that there is nothing so consequential with what is happening on this platform and that they can come back doing business for the cryptocurrency industry. We know that the very nature of its business can be attracting not-so-pleasant inquiry from the government or even attacks coming from hackers. Anyway, let's wait for any official statement from Tumbler and let's hope it can happen ASAP!

We're looking for alternative routes....
Did you hear about Noones?
It is getting more popular for p2p trading in Africa and in other countries: https://noones.com/

Site not working....

Does Bestchange offer Bitcoin to NGN (Naira) or Bitcoin to Gift Cards? With the latest Nigerian government onslaught on the P2P exchange marketplace, more than 30 million Nigerians would soon be without a venue to trade, not everyone is aware of DEX or how to use them. If an exchanger on your platform may provide these services, Bestchange will benefit greatly.

BestChange does not offer any exchange options, they are only monitoring a large number of instant exchangers, Some of them might support NGN.
As far as I remember, a few months ago there was an official announcement that NGN was added to the list, so for example you can find https://www.bestchange.com/bitcoin-to-visa-mastercard-ngn.html

Thanks. The rate is not bad just N130 less than the current rate on P2p Exchanges but it's quite manageable. What part does Bestchange play against scam on these exchanges? And why are these exchanges requesting for KYC?  Thought they're unregulated exchanges.

Bitcoin Forum / Re: Was the halving created much tension you?
« Last post by Lucius on Today at 02:23:51 PM »
Everyone wants the price of bitcoin to rise high during the bitcoin halving so they can achieve greater profits, but remember it usually happens after the halving before the bitcoin price rises to a higher price. There is always high tension when things don't go according to expectations, it's best to stay calm.

I am well aware of history, but we should also not blindly believe that history will repeat itself in the sense that halving will cause an identical effect as before. Don't get me wrong, I also expect another bull run to follow this year or next, but I also think that each halving has a decreasing impact on the price of BTC.

These tensions that we are talking about here mostly stem from ignorance and unrealistic expectations, because everyone would like to get rich overnight, but Bitcoin is not some magical money as some promote it. In addition, we now have powerful companies like BlackRock and Fidelity + Grayscale in the game, which can at any moment cause a new bull run, but also a price drop of several tens of percent.

Tumbler mixer website is not working both on clearnet and onion link.

It looks like their server is down for some reason, and the lack of communication between the Tumbler team and the manager is really alarming. This is clearly not a domain seizure as it was in the case of Chipmixer and Sinbad, i.e. Tumbler themselves shut down the server on which their site was located. Let's wait to see if they will react when the escrow address runs out of funds.

Totally agree with you, we really have to separate our main wallet from the wallet we use to do the airdrop. And I have also done this, this is one way we can do to avoid something we don't want.

Fraudsters will always use all means to achieve their goals and if we are aware of things like this, we should be able to minimize them further. As you said, don't just connect the wallet carelessly, we have to be able to confirm whether it is safe or not.
Fraudsters will always carry out their actions when they have the opportunity. Differentiating between the main wallet and the wallet for playing in the airdrop is rare because we can protect our main assets. Many people do phishing when our wallet is connected, so be careful.
Yes, of course, and they will always have fresher methods to smooth out their bad ideas. I think they have intelligence, but they use it for things that can harm other people.

Recently I also noticed that there are so many fake Twitter accounts, and interestingly they will leave comments along with fake links right under the posts of the original twotter accounts. They're that open now to tricking users, and if users aren't careful enough then they'll get caught.

OK, just learning about this, if you have actually mixed your coins before the maintainance commenced, I believe you should receive your bitcoins immediately the time you set is reached, this should have nothing to do with maintainance except for those are wanting to mix afresh.

It seems like they started the maintenance process while the timer for the mixing was still on - so mine got caught up in the process.

Quote
Did you take note of the actual time you set to receive your coins? Have the time elapsed and you still haven't received?

Yes I did. It was a 2 hour duration and when the timer ended it changed from “Done” to “Awaiting CoinJoin” and later “Maintenance” and then back to “Awaiting CoinJoin” before I finally went offline.

Although they had a note concerning the awaiting Coinjoin so users won’t panic when it happens.

Copied from unijoin.io
Awaiting CoinJoin: If the CoinJoin has not been completed after the waiting period, your payout may be delayed further. This can be due to the high utilisation of the blockchain, changing transaction fees or unfilled CoinJoin rounds. You will receive your payout to your specified addresses as soon as the CoinJoins are completed. In general, it is recommended to set a higher waiting period for transactions with higher volumes. The additional waiting time is usually a few minutes up to a few hours.

By the way, I have finally received my mixed coin, it came three hours ago. I can now proceed with my review.

I don't know what could be happening, but I tried to visit the Tumbler Mixer onion website and I get the following error:

Quote
Details: 0xF0 — The requested onion service descriptor can't be found on the hashring and therefore the service is not reachable by the client.

The website hosted on Clearnet does not load either, but it doesn't provide details or a specific error number.

I'm not trying to create panic or alarm anyone, but is it possible that they have shut down the service (even temporarily) for some reason?.

По теме ZKasino: многие решили хайпонуть на этом скаме и возместить пользователям деньги - думаю главным условием будет переход на их платформу, а деньги заблокируют и их можно будет спустить только на казинуху. Ну хоть что-то если честно.

Lol, I can't even remember the last time I actually checked my mail. Gmail is the most rarely used app on my phone. It's filled with thousands of emails, but I'm so lazy that I never checked them. The only time I use it is when I need OTP or email confirmation. So I'm kinda safe from these kind of scams.  :)

I use Proton Mail so 99% of the time it autosends all these phishing messages to Spam anyway. It's got an automatic garbage collector too but I'm sure all email providers have that enabled these days.

Your opinion is greatly appreciated.
