Title: 68 posts in one day, user Doovla should be warned
Post by: examplens on April 09, 2024, 01:00:18 AM
User Doovla (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=36763) desperately wants to join the signature campaign. I know that he received criticism earlier because his posts are exclusively an application for participation in the campaign, which is one of the reasons why the managers ignored his application.

Obviously, he decided to change this but in a rather wrong way. Yesterday (8 April) he wrote a total of 68 posts, with short breaks, usually one post every 2-5 minutes. (Post history https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=profile;u=36763;area=showposts;start=0 )

I won't say that everything he wrote is ordinary spam, but he bumped many threads, regardless of whether further discussion is unnecessary. A bit tiring when it comes from one user.

At some point, I invited him on the chatbox to take a break, but he probably didn't see this message.
I'm not in favour of rigorous punishment, because I believe that he still doesn't fully understand some of the basics of behaviour on the forum, but he should be warned.

Sorry Doovla, you will definitely read this once, but you should know when you are exaggerating. Things don't work out like that. I'm fine if this is just part of your learning process.

I think you have done a great job by sharing information about the posting behavior of Doovia via this thread. In simple words, there is no limit on number of posts a user makes but 68 posts in a single days seems too high to many of us.

I believe Doovia should read this thread and possibly decrease the number of posts he/she makes because it isn't needed to make that many posts a day to get accepted in a signature campaign.

Campaign managers looks more at quality of posts then quantity and if a user who can make some extra quality posts then that's a good thing but they don't force anyone to make that many posts a day to get accepted in their campaigns.

I hope that once Doovia visits this thread then he/she will understand that quality of posts matter much more to a campaign manager then the quantity of posts. Campaign managers also try their best to accept the memebers in their campaigns who are very active on forum.

Well, most of the posts were worth giving -karma for not following the thread of the discussion (what is a disrespect to other forum users) so I first gave him -karma and thought that some other moderator will do more. But then I found some true pointless necro bumping posts including even necro bumping of script seller topic which should rather be reported and not answered. So registered warning for necro bumping and low quality, several posts are deleted. Other moderators can take other actions as well. ???

He goes from one extreme to another.  :-\
Managers will not hire someone who only writes a bounty report or campaign application. Likewise, they will not hire someone who writes a huge number of posts in a short time. Burstposters

He doesn't understand the essence of the form, but somehow he thinks of this as a bag into which you put whatever you want whenever you want.

I see he has now a "Warning Level:20% (being watched)" mark. I guess it's after this spam festival.

However, I would urge him to be given a chance, he has been a member of the forum for a long time, and I believe that Doovla can be a decent and useful member here. Learning is a process.

The problem is not that the user writes 68 posts a day, the problem is that most of the posts are L.Q.P. And those posts are not going to help much to raise the ranking, since what @Doovia is achieving is creating a bottleneck between the factor of connection time to the forum and the number of posts.@Doovia has another 10% warning, I hope the user relaxes and asks a moderator what happened, although I doubt that will happen.

I'm still surprised how people find it easy to make such amount of post.
Making 25 in a week is even stressful for me cause there are some thread you would want to reply but a user Anna's given your point of view that you will feel like dropping a karma and realise that you are just a full member.
I don't know I felt the forum encourages such well if it's of quality and not necro bumping .There wouldn't be a badge for making 50 post in a day.
So I feel their major offence is posting in thread that doesn't warrant such/shit posting.

maybe pointing out that it's not needed in a campaign might make them change their action,  cause this isn't the first time the user has been warned especially bumping topics that have been concluded or some years old. I have even brought it to their notice when replying a necro thread they bumped.

68 posts in one day! This must be a new record :o
Did Doovla hired a not so small army of people to write for him in forum?  ;D
In my experience it is not possible to write so much posts with meaning, and it is even stranger if he is doing this every day.

It's far from the record. Let's pretend that I didn't show you this (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=badgeawards;sa=badgedetail&id=61) and you know nothing about the round badge for super spammers. It's a secret! ;D

And 50 posts a day is nothing extraordinary. I've got this (https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?action=badgeawards;sa=badgedetail&id=59) on my second day on the forum. I was new and was keen in everything. When you have many things to talk about, you can make even more. 8) But now I will hardly do the same, because there are less new for me in new topics to make me talk so much! ;D

I will pretend it was done by a bot to save face. :) . Yeah I  can barely do 10 a day. I'm not even sure I have ever. like getting topics I find interesting or that lack an idea I have is hard. So usually don't post in topics with more than 20 replies except am been tagged.
Like I said @OP,  posting that much is awarded here as long as it's of quality and not necro bumping.it helps keep the forum active.

This is kinda off topic, but I don't want to create any thread that would be a one liner or doesn't deserve such.
@jokers I made a thread and realised it should be in the beginners section and couldn't find the move topic option. So I checked the store and found it was under a paywall. My question is wouldn't it be better if everybody can do it. To reduce the work of the moderators? We can't always call on you guys when we need to do something like this right.
If you can please do help. This is the link to the thread https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=320315.msg1537992#msg1537992 . But if you believe it's suitable at the board it is now. You can leave it. Thank you.

If everyone will move topics everywhere, there will be much more mess for moderators to work with. There are not so many requests on moving topics, so not so hard at the moment. If you want, I moved your topic to the Beginners board. ;)

And 50 posts a day is nothing extraordinary.
:o
For me and for most people it is certainly not normal for anyone to write so much posts in one day, so it is extraordinary.
This place should not be for racing who can writes more posts, and you need hours and hours to write so much text, not to mention reading what others wrote and thinking what to reply.
Member who writes so much either don't have a life outside forum, or he is AI generating them.

That's right, it takes a lot of time. As for my experience, I just came on the forum and there was enough time that day for me to read. To get a 50 posts a day badge I spent entirely a day here, reading lots of posts and answering where I was interested. Usually I don't have so much time. So 50+ posts took those 24 hours minus time for sleep and other things like that. It is impossible to leave so many meaningful posts a day on a regular base or for a short period of time. Those who take just 2-4 hours for that leave mostly pointless and unnecessary posts.

But if you have a whole free day to spend it on the forum, 50 posts for a day is not extraordinary. :)

Well spotted, examplens. I think that 68 posts is what philipma1957 can write in a week, not in a day, although he may write that amount in each forum, but he is retired, so he has all the time in the world and he has been in this world for more than 10 years, so he combines writing a lot with quality, which is not the case with this guy.

It is also clear that this thread and the actions of the moderators have had an effect, as he has not written anything in the last few days.

Is there really someone who wrote 250 posts in one day on this forum!?  :o
I would like to see all the posts that was written by him, but it is impossible to do this every day by one person, maybe family members helped with this mission ;D
You need other good members to have for any good conversation in forum, and quality is always better than quantity.

Even 25 posts a day round badge is called "too active", 50 posts a day is last which called not so bad "Super active", everything above are called directly spammers. It is nearly impossible to post 100 meaningful posts a day and totally impossible to post 250 meaningful posts a day! :o

I didnt know about that, but I agree.
Can we see the list or record of all the badges in forum?
In some rear cases everyone could write a lot of posts in forum, if we are in some heated discussion with other members about topics that are very popular, but that is just exception from the rule.

From any of your posts (or any other user's posts) you can access the Master Badge List, just look at the bottom of any post on the left side of the user's profile. You can find it at: Total Badges: 15 Badges: (View All). Simply click on View All and it will take you to the list of badges the user earned and you will see a link to the full list.

There are not so many of them, but all those badges are neutral.
When you see someone with 5000 Posts or SuperActive badge it is not clear if they are quality user or spammer.

I like Topic Starter badge, that is useful for people who asked for adding of OP letters like in bitcoin talk forum.
Just tell admin to make this badge sticky in profile of member who created topic.

Keep in mind that a spammer would not have had time to write more than 5,000 posts, his account would previously be full of negative badges and probably the most striking of them, L.Q.P., additionally, that user would also be in the "Under Review" group. They are neutral because they are badges that are obtained as achievements unlocked on the forum. Think that the "super active" badge can be for a specific activity, we cannot write 25, or 50 posts every day, but sometimes it is possible. A suggestion can be made to the administrator about what you say about the list.

I know that mister president  ;D
5000 posts was just an example, but I see some members posting only news article all the time, so it is not impossible to happen.
I like the badges here and they can be improved, maybe added few more.

A suggestion can be made to the administrator about what you say about the list.
Should I write this as separate suggestion, or president will inform admin, he has more power I think ;)

I can assure you that I have much less “power” than you imagine, and even if I did I wouldn't care, I'm just another user.

To propose new things, I think it is always better to make a suggestion in the corresponding subforum, so other users can contribute other ideas related to the suggestion and a new debate is also created, which is always interesting.
