Title: Is it a good idea to use a VPN for trading on Exchange?
Post by: JohnSimens on June 01, 2021, 08:33:52 AM
I follow my trader and want to start copying him. The platform where he trades supports Binance exchange only. Is it risky to deposit money on an exchange account using a VPN? Can I be banned or froze and how can the exchange track me and use this data to ban my account?

Please share your experience and give me an advice

In my case, it is a must to use a VPN if you want to access Binance. So far, I have no problem accessing an exchange like Binance by using VPN. I think it isn't a mistake, except if your country is prohibited to access and join the exchange. It depends on the problem itself, as long as we don't break the rules or regulations, it is always okay to use a VPN for trading or accessing an exchange.

I think it is unnecessary to use a VPN for trading on Exchange because if you use vpn there have no extra benefit i mean most of the exchange don't have any country boundary. If happen those kind of things then you can use vpn. One the other hand if your country do not accept crypto currency then you can go for using vpn.

I think it doesn't matter if you use a VPN, some countries block web IPs from crypto exchanges because they don't have permission from that country, I used VPN to download apps from Binance exchange and all went well without any issues.

Don't use VPN even it is Binance. You will freeze soon on your fund. There is no good exchange support to use vpn. You can use ip copy system what i known. But it is risky as well follow other trade. So i think you need to avoid this.

I think it is not true. How if you have no choice to access it without VPN? For example Indonesia? Indonesia isn't excluded country to join Binance but all people in Indonesia cannot do anything if they don't use VPN. As far as I know, the government ban Binance, so Indonesian people must have a way to access it. One of the possible ways is to use VPN.

*By the way, so far I have no problem even if I use a VPN to access Binance.

VPN has many choices, so my advice If you want to use a VPN when you want to trade use a VPN that is official or already has a good rating. Because it will be very dangerous when using a bad VPN, because it can steal our data.

Using a VPN is not a bad thing You can use a VPN if you want to if you do not have permission to use cryptocurrency, bitcoin or binance.  Some countries block web IP address from crypto exchanges because they do not have permission from that country.  In these cases you can use VPN.  However, if you do not have to choose a good VPN, you will run into a variety of problems.  There should be no problem in using VPN. It is okay to use VPN for trading or access as long as the rules are not broken.

I think that the use of VPN is on places where there are cryptocurrecy usage restrictions, otherwise there is nothing wrong with the use of VPN to assess cryptocurrecy exchange. If VPN is contactable with any crypto exchange, then it is very OK to use VPN.

I think it's not necessary to use VPN in binance unless in your country is not supporting cryptos and why do you use VPN for trading? Binance exchange is safe to trade even you copy the strategy of the traders they don't care..

If someone thinks that his country does not support any specific exchanger then he can use VPN. I don’t have any experienced about the fact that someone uses an exchanger with VPN. However, in case of investment, it is better to confirm this issue first and then invest.

When we enter or want to choose a VPN that we will use in surfing the virtual world.  So my choice is to choose a VPN that has many users, because every VPN application, for example in the Play Store, must have a description of how many applications are installed and used.  The more users, I think the better.  That's my opinion, how about you yourself.. Do you have any suggestions for members here?

This unnecessary to use a vpn to access Binance unless in your country it is banned orillegal. But if you want to use a vpn dont use any free vpn because most of the free vpns sells your data. Try to use paid vpn with good service and high speed. Never use any free vpn.

If we are able to access the exchange without VPN, it is better not to use it.
But if we are forbidden and must use VPN, ensure that you use paid VPN, not the free one.
Moreover we know that some VPN may be danger and it may not work. We may be found and this may also give certain things of data validation.

If this is the case, then we should use an official VPN. If you can pay for it and don't use a VPN that is not so familiar, use a VPN that is commonly used by many people. It's really a pity if there is a country that blocks a Crypto exchange, because it will only make it difficult for the community.
But now that people are smart, there is always a way to find a way out of every problem.

In my opinion, using a VPN when trading is not really mandatory because the IP you use will not be used for any kind of exchange, whereas if you want to be more secure when trading on the internet then you can use a VPN which is fine.

If you are using a free VPN then you should be worried because sometimes free VPN spread malware that can hack your account. So my suggestion will be if you wish to use a VPN then use paid version of it.

If it is not possible to use an exchange due to the laws of your country, it can only be solved by using a VPN. But it's still something that I would only do if it was absolutely necessary. There are many companies that offer VPN services, but in reality there are very few that are serious, so we do not know where our data and passwords could go after going through numerous VPN tunnels. I think that in this case it is best to choose a brand with a good reputation and pay a little more to avoid problems.

I do not think it is a good idea because those exchange must track your ip address from where you are logging. If you continually logging from an unusual location  then for this suspicious activity they could froze your account any time they want to. So why take unnecessary trouble when your money is on the stake.

If your question is related to the risks of blocking your profile when using VPN, then I think it does not matter, because the essence of the exchange is to trade and withdraw your funds from anywhere in the world. Let it be any country through VPN, at least I have not seen cases blocking users when using VPN.

VPN for making transactions at the exchange doesn't seem very important because some exchange places sometimes prohibit using the IP from the VPN or vice versa, so maybe you can just use the local network, unless the exchange can't be accessed with a local IP so you need a VPN .

Something that would be really interesting and useful for this case (although it requires certain knowledge) would be to create our own network, where we know where the data comes from and where it arrives. Anyway, if people don't have that knowledge, another possible solution would be to use several VPNs at the same time, that way we would guarantee a higher level of security and our data would be more difficult to track and capture, and it would also be a good way to learn about the security of our data.

Hello bro, how to use VPNs together.
I think as far as I know, we can only use one VPN, because there will only be one IP detected.  but if you can use multiple VPNs together, this is a great idea.

It is possible to use several VPNs to connect to the Internet. It is possible to do it with the use of many scripts, the best known is MultiVPN, which will allow us to connect easily and quickly through several OpenVPN tunnels, and allows us to select the number of concurrent VPNs that we want to launch. As you say, only one IP is detected, which connects to the servers, but behind that IP there may be more. All the information to do it is available on many websites and forums, but some basic knowledge is required to be able to do it, but it is possible.

If it is the government of our country that blocks outgoing connections to some exchanges, using VPN is the best solution, but we have to keep in mind that we will have to perform KYC on those exchanges. If after that, for some reason, governments demand user data from exchanges, we could have problems, so it is always better to use exchanges that are not blocked. Some countries every day have stricter regulations with the exchanges and it could bring us problems.

I partially agree with you, but you should think that if the coin/token we want to sell is available on several exchanges, we always want to sell on the one with the most volume. We do not have the same opportunities to earn more if our coin/token is on Bittrex or Poloniex as if it is available on Binance. It all depends on the volume available on different exchanges, which can lead people to use VPN for more profit, but as I said in my last post in this thread that can give us problems in the future.

The problem with free VPNs is not only that they are scams, as you say, they also have a very high latency that sometimes prevents the proper functioning of the network and worst of all, if we use free VPNs to access exchanges, it is likely that they are stealing our login details and that could make us lose our accounts. For these cases, the best and safest is to use a VPN that we pay for, there are very good ones for only $7 per month.

Is not difficult. Learning to use VPN is simple and the necessary knowledge is minimal, it is not like years ago. To make an easy to understand comparison, using VPN today is as simple as installing a Linux distribution, you don't need to have much knowledge like 20 years ago, for example, you just need to install a program and do some basic settings. You just need to install the software, choose a country of connection (which will be the IP that exchanges see), and start browsing. Companies selling VPN services have minimized what users have to do, which is why it's so simple.

If your country is not open for cryptocurrency, obviously vpn is really recommended for this thing. But if your country is open for the cryptocurrency that means no need to use VPN. This was I had seen in the other community who used VPN because they can't able to make an activity in trading because it is banned to their country.

I don't think we should be careful about free VPNs, we shouldn't use free VPNs when we talk about using our funds on exchanges. It is preferable to spend a few dollars a month and not worry that we may lose everything because our VPN provider is a thief. There are many providers available and some are really good and cheap. Although it would be perfect not to have to use any type of external service, VPNs are the only solution, but it is always advisable to do a previous search and document yourself.

When we login to an exchange through vpn, many times the exchange does not open because the server changes, I believe that we should not use the vpn unless it is needed.

I don't think so, maybe this happened not because the server changed so you couldn't enter the exchange but it happened because the network was weak.
But the main problem when we use a VPN is not that, but because our data can be easily stolen. So we have to be careful when using a VPN, there are even some people who don't want to do that because they don't want to take the risk.

I'm sure it doesn't matter, because I've been there. some countries do prohibit bitcoin trading in their country so even markets like binance they will block. actually there is another solution besides using a VPN, you can try using the binance application on the play store or you use google dns on your internet network. I've done it, and it worked without having to use a vpn I can access the binance website.

Yes, VPN is used when you have problems with some services in your country.  There are free version and it is very comfortable. Sometimes I use VPN working with crypto.

I disagree with you, free VPNs can be used to learn how they work (and it is always recommended to do so on machines that contain little or no data), but not for serious things. A user who has no prior knowledge with VPN does not know the amount of data that can be stolen, and that is a danger when we talk about private information and logins to access exchanges, for example. In this article you have an example of what can happen: 21 million free VPN users' data exposed (https://blog.malwarebytes.com/cybercrime/privacy/2021/03/21-million-free-vpn-users-data-exposed/)

Sometimes in some areas there are rules that make us unable to access the Crypto trading site that we will use, here we need to use VPN as an alternative so that we can enter. Not one hundred percent safe, but if we want to use VPN we should use a VPN that has high security. But we should still be careful with our money.

I follow my trader and want to start copying him. The platform where he trades supports Binance exchange only. Is it risky to deposit money on an exchange account using a VPN? Can I be banned or froze and how can the exchange track me and use this data to ban my account?

Sometimes I also used VPN.
It's not problem, don't worry with your assets.
Maybe at several countries have blocked exchange, VPN is good solution.

Better to save other coins  in your wallet than exchange wallet.

First and foremost, which country are you from?

If you are an isolated country who wants to trade in an exchange, well that would be reasonable. But I think a VPN with paid subscription works much more in terms of stability and reliability than free ones. Just my opinion.

Changing the DNS is a solution that may work, but only in the short term. If the exchange blocks the IP ranges assigned to each country from all ISPs operating in that country, it would be impossible to access those exchanges. Another good, secure and free solution would be to use a friend's connection who lives outside of the blocking country, setting up an IP tunnel with a trusted person would be very easy and would only take a couple of hours to get up and running.

Good idea, If the exchange blocks the IP ranges assigned to each country from all ISPs operating in that country, we can ask help friend at another country.
Although It's difficult, because people is hard to give their personal ID to register in exchange.
So, maybe there is another way to do.

@rizqillah I'm not talking about using a friend's identity, I'm talking about using a friend's internet connection. If we do not have much knowledge, the easiest thing would be to use any Windows remote desktop software (RemotePC, LogMeIn, Remote Desktop Manager...), that way we would connect to our friend's computer and use his Internet connection to access any exchange that is blocked in our country. Something like this can be done with any operating system even with little knowledge.

I think it is unnecessary to use a VPN for trading on Exchange because if you use vpn there have no extra benefit i mean most of the exchange don't have any country boundary. If happen those kind of things then you can use vpn. One the other hand if your country do not accept crypto currency then you can go for using vpn.
Not everyone has the advantage of visiting any exchange like some of us do. And if you have to change location to USA and other countries with strict retrictions on exchanges, one might have to use VPN to access the exchange. Just a visit in some countries with your IP can ban you from all your asset and trading. You might also need this any time you change location so as to learn how to go about it.

It only takes a few minutes, learning to use a VPN is as simple as opening the software, selecting the country to which we want to connect (this will be our visible IP) and we will be able to surf the internet without problems. If we do not trust the VPN providers on the market 100% (all companies keep user logs, even if they say otherwise) some of the details that I have given above can help us a lot, and it would not have any economic cost.

I see this kind of problem a lot happening to cryptocurrency traders, especially to traders on the Binance platform.
Binance has spread all over the world, of course, many users have Binance accounts, but unfortunately the local government blocked the Binance website.
Why is Binance blocked for a reasonable reason is because there are so many who don't agree with cryptocurrencies in various governments around the world, so to be aware of crimes of theft or money laundering, Binance has blocked its website and the only way is to use PVN .

I think the opposite. Governments (nearly 100%) fear that their citizens are smart. They prefer citizens to be sheep that can be moved from one place to another at the whim of their politicians. People who question everything, people who look for alternatives and don't believe everything politicians tell them are the most restless people, and therefore they are the people who always want to know more. Governments fear that their citizens use cryptocurrencies because it gives them freedom.

Maybe for some people there are those who are afraid to use a VPN and they don't agree to use it but the proof is that I myself use a VPN to open the Binance website.
If we can't open the destination website and if we have to use a VPN to open the website then we definitely have to use a VPN.
We have to force ourselves to do our best because that's how we can access Binance Exchange.

it can only be solved by using a VPN.

Trading with VPN isn't a good idea since blockchain technology is designed in a way to secure your anonymity there is no need for hiding your location. Besides hacks in the defi technology are easily detected, so if you want to trade don't engage in suspicious activities.

Using VPN to access a service that has been banned for political reasons is not suspicious activity. There is no 100% effective way to be anonymous on the network, no blockchain is completely anonymous, not even the ones that claim to be, but if it is possible to make things difficult for those who want to monitor our steps on the network. And that is not illegal since it is part of the right to privacy.

Using VPN in KYC exchanges is not a good idea if your aim is to maintain privacy since you'll be required to submit your KYC documents anyway. If your aim is only to bypass some restriction on your ISP, then it's a good idea. For example, Binance is blocked in Indonesia so I use VPN to access the site without using mirror and stuff.

If you want to keep your anonymity, use TOR/VPN to access DEX or P2P exchanges.

I also often use PVN because my country blocks websites from Binance, but the PVN I use only changes the DNS so I can open websites, not using PVN software.
So far it's been fine and I haven't had any major problems with using PVN, but please be careful because this PVN can access all websites, sometimes the website is embedded with very dangerous malware.

Constantly changing your IP address to trigger a security bot in an exchange and freeze your account. If this happens you have to provide your personal data to unfreeze them so it is not recommendable to use VPN always. But on some special occasions using a VPN should not be a problem in my opinion. Be care full when using a VPN because your data could be stolen.

Some VPN providers also offer services to always use the same IP or stay within the same IP range. These are additional services that some providers offer with the basic package, while others may charge additionally. Not all ISPs are configured to always keep the same IP, but they generally keep those IPs within the same range, exchanges shouldn't cause any problems because of that. It all depends on the needs of each user and their knowledge.

There are times when we do have to use a VPN to enter Crypto exchanges, because sometimes there are restrictions on certain trading sites. But my advice is to use an official VPN so that our data is safe, in fact I myself rarely use this VPN for trading for fear of having my data stolen. The Russian population has much more serious problems than using VPNs. One of the possible sanctions that several countries have considered is to "disconnect" Russia from the Internet. If that were to happen, it would mean that Russia would be isolated from the global network as North Korea always has been. Ukraine asked Icann for exactly that on February 28, but the global regulator responsible for assigning addresses on the Internet rejected the request, citing the need to remain neutral. However, there are several countries that are pressuring Icann to change its mind.

There are many companies (every day more) that offer VPN services, and fortunately not all of them are prohibited, much less the best known. It is totally legal to use VPN for our connections, the problem that users may have later is when the exchange requires going through the KYC process, at that time they could block our account when they see in our personal documents that we reside in a country that they do not admit for political and anti money laundering reasons.

Unless your country is one of those who banned Binance or any other exchanges, therefore VPN is necessary. However, it is also a double-edged sword where exchanges might not be tolerating users who are using VPN even if it means if their country is banning Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies by blocking these websites of the exchanges.

Actually, using a VPN for trading is quite risky. Because this may be against the T & C of the exchange platform itself. But if this happens because we cannot visit the site without the VPN, we may use it as long as our country is exactly not in a restricted. Additionally, we can use it but not a free VPN, better to use the paid VPN.

Dont do this i would not recommend this because of many users unconsciously open their exchange account and their account may frozen or they blocked by exchange , Don't play with your funds and when any exchange bans your KYC verified account then you would not verify any other account with your documents ,

              STAY SAFE

I think using a VPN to trade at a casino is an unnecessary thing to do because by using a VPN program all the access you have is known by the VPN developer, you have to be careful even when using a VPN, and of course using a VPN for long term would be very high risk.

I don't think utilising a VPN is a smart idea if you're using an exchange to hold your money because it might lead to issues down the road. It would be challenging to be confirmed with your own country if your account was restricted and they told you to verify it while you are using a VPN from a different country.

Yes! Using a VPN to trade on the exchange is an important security measure that can help protect your data and identity. A VPN will encrypt your connection and prevent third parties from monitoring or intercepting any of your online activity, which can be especially beneficial when trading sensitive financial information. Additionally, it allows you to access different exchanges around the world without having to worry about geo-restrictions.

There are so many advantages to using a VPN when trading that it’s a no-brainer to get one set up on your devices, especially since the cost of having one is relatively low. By getting set up with the NordVPN (https://nordvpn.com/download/windows/) on the market, you can trade safely, prevent yourself from being the victim of cybercriminals, and not stress about your private information or trading information being sold on the dark web. Using a VPN while trading is an easy solution for everyone!
