Did you also backup your private keys or only the encrypted wallet? If you don't have the private key, no password means no access to funds basically. Otherwise, if you think about it, encrypting the wallet to make the wallet.dat file more secure, would be completely pointless.
If you don't have the keys backed up then you could try brute force attacks using:

But the likelihood is, if you have a good password, you won't be able to crack the password. I'd give up after a week personally.
