For me ICO's is not dead yet and the cryptocurrency investors are still optimistic in cryptocurrency projects, the only hindrance is the scams and fraud that almost erased all the ICO achievement in the fast years and leaving almost the ICO's lifeless if the ICO's was equipped with better security againts fraud i believe it will recover its former status as before.

Absolutely true ICO is need to be regulated in order to regain its former status if these was not realized then lets forget ICO either.

I cannot be sure whether will ICO die at this stage or not but we should be seeing ICOs are slowly moving to IEO to capture a bigger market share of the exchanges.
-
It is true that ICOs are still alive and not dead yet. But I think they are not really popular anymore since IEOs have attracted investors interests. Not only improving the security, but ICOs also need to ensure investors that they are quality projects.
-
I think there is lost of confidence in ICOs and this is because of many investors are experimenting the IEOs for better security of their investment. No one will like to invest in ICOs that are under probability and the worst case senero are scam projects through these numerous ICOs.

Yes, ICO projects are now experiencing a very large decline in their activities. This is partly due to the fall in activity in the cryptocurrency market, and partly due to the high level of fraud among such ICO projects.
Now the ICO teams are looking for a way out because of the current bad situation with fundraising, trying to switch to other platforms of other coins, promotions, fundraising models, such as STO and IEO. I do not think that this can drastically improve the situation. Such innovations only confuse and impede the work of bounty hunters. And it is very difficult, because it happens quite often and right in the middle of fundraising.
I think that we need to expect the onset of state regulation of ICO activities, only it can almost completely rid ICO projects of fraudsters. Many states are already preparing regulations on such regulation.
-
I totally agree with you, but so far most of the companies that make their ICOs do not even think about it, the main thing for them is to raise money from investors, and security is already on a different plane, so thats why ICO dies.
-
Well, so far, there are so many ICO scams that we can avoid. While another case, there are also many failed projects through ICOs. With these two big reasons, ICOs should be regulated to make investors trust in ICOs. If there are no changes, investors will move to IEOs.

you are right investors will move to the IEO if ICO does not improve its system and security,
-
We ourselves are unlikely to improve the security of our ICO, fraudsters will simply ignore or otherwise ignore the new rules. ICO projects can be saved only by government regulation of this type of activity. Only such regulation is able to effectively deal with fraud.
-
Wait a moment who said that IEO itself is not just another way of fraud!! In my opinion, what is happening right now in Binance is just another way of rip off, look at what Binance is doing they are now forcing people to hold BNB coins to be able to participate which is a big joke and a clear shady way to do IEO it is clear that all they care about is to pump BNB price threw anyway.
-
Can not ,
ICO cannot be an IEO because these two objects contradict each other on the basis that they collect money.
The ICO is clearly created outside the Exchange circulation and the IEO is in the Exchange circulation.
-
~snip~ you are right investors will move to the IEO if ICO does not improve its system and security,
Yes, I agree with you. Investors will leave ICOs and move to IEOs if there are no changes on ICO's security. Investors doubt to join ICOs with many negative issues on ICOs. I think why not ICO cooperates with third parties also.
-
ICO will still exist when there are new projects that are truly real and not scam, I see a lot of good projects in 2018 that have achieved soft caps so operators leave their projects regardless of what they do.
Now that we have seen the IEO go well when selling their tokens in collaboration with known crypto exchanges, I think this is a new investment trend because ICO has been around for a long time and now the IEO will dominate new crypto coins in the future
-
To be able to repeat the glory of the ICO there must be a significant change in the mechanism. Because at this time when there is a sale through ICO we never know or even always wait a long time to be able to know which exchange will be the first listing. Unlike the IEO, there is usually an agreement that is made if the sales process is finished, the listing will be listed on the exchange. So there is certainty obtained by invoice about its continuation. Hopefully ICO can also create a system such as the IEO so that investors do not leave it.
-
~snip~ I think why not ICO cooperates with third parties also.
It is a nice idea. I support the idea to cooperate with third parties. The third parties may bring positive impacts and ensure investors t0 invest. I see with this way, there is a chance for ICOs to come back to its best performance.
-
Yes, ICO projects need to improve their security in order to survive, but this activity is not yet regulated, and the ICO itself cannot do anything to get rid of fraud. Only government regulation of the general administrative activity of these projects can save them from fraud. Perhaps this year the situation in this regard will begin to change.
-
I also believe ICOs market is evergreen on the other hand IEOs will also face tough time but at present it is very much in demand by the buyers/investors. I feel only regulation in ICOs can stop the fraud projects to some extent.

Why it cant? and where did you find any contradiction with IEO and ICO.? Initial Exchange Offering was equipped with more better security since the exchange is acting like a escrow and that prevent againts fraudster while ICO was still vulnerable to scams and fraud because of its nature. the difference between both was only the security and no contradiction or whatsoever!

I agree with your opinion. There is no contradiction between IEO and ICO. The differences are only on listing guarantee and they way of investors to buy the tokens/coins. If ICO can be safer + provide listing guarantee, I think ICO also can be like IEO.
-
Good idea, I think it's like that too. But the problem is that nowadays we find many irresponsible people who crowdfunding by tricking them into making it look like a legitimate ICO that is. This is what needs to be considered, ICO teams that are truly real must know how to convince investors and make a project that is very promising.
-
ICO is indeed prone to fraud and the problem until now is difficult to solve, maybe the IEO is a new solution but what will happen to the fate of the ICO? It seems that there needs to be innovation, rules, and cooperation with third parties to be able to restore investor confidence in the ICO, otherwise ICO will die.
-
You are right, the level of investor confidence in the ICO has become low due to the large number of fraudsters and the lack of regulation in this area. I hope that in the near future there will be a regulator that can solve existing problems and protect investors, otherwise the ICO will disappear.
