Title: Samsung Coin
Post by: Zed0X on April 24, 2019, 05:09:38 PM
Just months after the release of the Samsung Galaxy S10, there is now a REPORT (https://www.coindesk.com/samsung-developing-ethereum-based-blockchain-may-issue-own-token) that Samsung may soon released it's own token.

Currently, we are thinking of private blockchain, though it is not yet confirmed. It could also be public blockchain in the future, but I think it will be hybrid – that is, a combination of public and private blockchains.

The market expects Samsung Coin to come out, but the direction has not yet been decided.

The report has not been confirmed yet but I believe that most crypto enthusiasts welcome this kind of news. We'll see how things unfold in the coming months.

Next up: Apple Coin. Lol. I think these big companies will get bored of their own tokens quite fast if they are merely stable coins tethered to the US dollar like JPM.

We shall see. Nothing is confirmed yet. As of this point, they are merely creating a buzz just like how facebook did in the past.

I don't believe much in this news. Samsung is a master in marketing and they know how to draw attraction from the crowd. Do you remember how people were so hyped on the recent Enjin wallet integration lately? ENJ was nearly doubled at that time (correct me if I'm wrong). But how about now? Things cooled down like they never happened. To be honest, I really want this to become true, but I prefer seeing Samsung goes for blockchain technology first.

Good news, but why does Samsung want to make its own wallet if their wallet will be compatible with the standard ERC 20 token, I will wait for further development of this information and I think if Samsung wants to make their own blockchain, the possibility that users who want to buy this smartphone will use coins from Samsung to buy products from Samsung.

For example, if Samsung releases their own coins, they don't need ICO Algi because everyone already knows about the Samsung brand.
I look forward to the coin if it's really going to be released.
hopefully this will start a better crypto currency.

According to Cointelegraph, Samsung is working on ETH-based blockchain network which possibly leads to the issuance of “Samsung Coin” tokens.

If they ever decide to create their own token, coin/blockchain in the future, I wonder what will be its use case? It will probably be just another duplicate of what popular coins offer.

For example, if Samsung releases their own coins, they don't need ICO Algi because everyone already knows about the Samsung brand.
Facebook is also a big brand but I've read some news weeks ago that they were planning a crowdfunding.

we are not sure about that info but there is a confirmation that the phone came with a wallet for crypto. samsung is yet to make any news about having it's own coin. IOST was once rumored to do airdrops for Samsung wallet. we all have to watch and see.

How can it make other phone producers support it.

LOL
I even think that if you don't use unstable coins, it will harm Samsung.
For example, if the price is Dump, it will be a loss, luckily if the price goes up. LOL

It turns out that this cellphone producer is also interested in the crypto world even Samsung will build its own coins, and in my opinion this is a very interesting breakthrough,
Maybe later on Sony, Nokia, and others are also interested in creating their own coins ...

I found this news when surfing on the internet this afternoon: Samsung Ploughs $2.9 Million into Crypto Hardware Wallet Giant Ledger (https://www.ccn.com/samsung-ploughs-2-9-million-into-crypto-hardware-wallet-giant-ledger). It sounds like Korean tech giant is serious with blockchain in general or cryptocurrency at least. Plus, Nike also shows interest in crypto by filed a patent named ‘Cryptokicks’: https://cointelegraph.com/news/nike-files-trademark-application-in-the-us-for-cryptokicks. Will we see something big for crypto in the time to come?

Hello are you sure its confirmed. The samsung hasnt made any announcement what I did see on the reports are clearly intervied but that is not a statement whether those are confirmed decision of the Management of Samsung. Maybe suggestion from their technical crew but certainly not a deal yet. Anyway Ill be glad to hear its official annnouncement from them soon.

It is a new and welcome development, cause this will expand the crypto circle and could be a an opening eye to other companies like apple, then linusx will be planning on having their own coin. On the other, the question that comes is, How long will the coin survive the market competition, will it be a stable coin? and other challenges that may come up.

You basically quoted the answer to your question.

Interesting. The Company's action somehow confirms the OP. What's only missing now is an official announcement.

I am very pleased that such a big and popular company like Samsung understands that cryptocurrency is the future and with the help of it Samsung will be able to gain even more popularity for its product.
