Sure it does, most of alts are depending on the movement of bitcoin. The king movement affect the whole market of crypto currency. BTC is mostly paired to all alts out there so there would be a great chance that btc pulled the price of whenever it will go. Increase or decline they will follow the footstep of BTC.

due to the reason that most of the altcoins are not used in the real life today, it is really likely for them to follow bitcoin movements when it happens. Only some coins like xlm, ethereum and xrp sometimes - not all the time - can follow their own path. Other than that until they have real use cases this is their faith.

am not too sure the altcoin price will follow the price of Bitcoin, as we can see today, BTC has gone up at the price of $5800 and other altcoin prices do not follow the movements of the BTC price.

usually when bitcoin grows heavily all altcoins lose in price in btc. when bitcoin falls heavily altcoins also usually fall strongly. when bitcoin in flat altcoins grows .now btc dominance is 55.5%. when the btc dominates, it is better to refrain from purchasing altcoins.

Just check out the history on cmc even the last few months and you'll see how btc is carrying them or bringing them down.

Some few days back, I observed when the price of bitcoin was shutting from $6k - $7k, the price of altcoins where negatively affected, coins like ETH, EOS, ATOM etc. Now, altcoins are rising smoothly, and this is a positive effect of bitcoin to the altcoins.

It affects those altcoins that are the most reliable ones as I see. Shitcoins move according to their own scenario, which cannot be foreseen. So only tokens in good exchanges can go with Bitcoin.

Can influence with the price of altcoins too. But not all altcoin will gain benefit from the price but only those good projects that has a great product, platform and services. Bitcoin is a major coin which is paired by most altcoin. So if its price would change higher then, there will be changes in altcon prices. Not all market are auto change price some forgot to change their bid to sell, which I think exchange should be integrating cause what if the price has increased and someone bid at a very far price from that? Then he is doomed for not monitoring his asset?
