DigiShares, the first security tokens issuance company in the Nordics and among the first in Europe, in partnership with MakerDAO, the creators of the first asset-backed and stable coin on the blockchain, and Copenhagen Fintech will be hosting the “Real Estate on the Blockchain” event in Copenhagen on May 21st.
Attendees will have the chance to learn from industry leaders about the increasingly popular concept of tokenization and the opportunities and benefits of tokenized real estate portfolios using blockchain technology, such as fractional ownership, increased liquidity, a larger international investor base, and cost reductions by removing middlemen.
Among the speakers will be Lasse Birk Olesen, from MakerDAO, who will give an intro and overview of the company by focusing on real estate tokens. He will explain how tokenized real estate can be used as collateral for their stable coin. Claus Skaaning, CEO of DigiShares, will give a general introduction to blockchain and tokenized securities and will explain why it is interesting to tokenize real estate and how it can be done. Finally, he will describe a few samples of tokenized real estate projects. The event will also feature Julianne Sloane, who will speak on her experience at Leaseum Partners, a tokenized $250M Private Equity Real Estate Fund that invests in New York City. She will educate the audience about various aspects of real estate tokenization – how it works, its benefits for both issuers and investors – and will give a snapshot of where the industry is today and how it has been developing.
