Starbucks is upping its game, recently unveiling a new partnership with Microsoft to integrate a few high-tech features into its supply and brewing processes.

The food and beverage industry is becoming more competitive than ever before. Companies are desperate to find ways to automate and optimize each and every step of production. In an ever-increasing digitized world, these companies can no longer afford to ignore the advantages that new technologies can offer.

Starbucks, the world's leading coffee house chain, has been on the cutting edge of delivering a top-quality product by adopting the latest technology not just in brewing coffee but also in its supply chain management, advertising, and developing new products.

At Microsoft's annual Build developers conference happening this week, the two companies unveiled new cooperative projects focusing on leveraging blockchain technology and machine learning using Microsoft's Azure cloud services.

If all goes as planned, these projects could help to boost Starbuck's revenue even further as well as securing the chain's stature as the world's most successful coffee brewers for years to come.

The first of these projects will aim to use predictive software to cater to users' favorite orders based on factors such as previous orders, supplies in stock, or even the time of day. With so many options on its menu, Starbucks hopes to create the most personalized experience for its customers.

In the age of complex smart-technology, Starbucks has also been outfitting its brewers and grinders with the ability to communicate witht the Internet of Things (IoT). This will allow its devices to collect and store critical data to help the company optimize brewing temperatures and test the quality of the beans and water used as well as assist in device maintenence and errors.

Lastly, the coffee giant wants to make more transparent the journey that its beans go through from their source to the location they are brewed. This concept of supply chain on the blockchain is the crux of many blockchain-based projects that are emerging on the digital asset market.
