Title: Will SEC Really Consider Public Opinion In Deciding On ETF?
Post by: DeKingCrypto on May 16, 2019, 03:37:35 AM
I saw over the news that the U.S SEC is seeking public opinion to decide on ETF after delay upon delay.
Do you really think that SEC will use the public opinion in making their decision or another delay?.

I'm still waiting for this information, but the SEC still hasn't explained for sure, how to get public opinion, will the vote be taken from just a few members?
And what makes me confused is that the existence of physical Bitcoin? ::)

Quote
Bitwise clearly states that its bitcoin ETF would require "regulated third-party custodians to hold physical bitcoin." In their filing

SEC are looking like stupid when they're seeking for public opinion. The public has expressed their support a long time ago, it is these establishments that's been trying to block it.

Totally agree mate. I do not think they are seeking public opinion. They only care what the government says.

I don't understand why SEC wants to ask public opinions. I think it is already clear that it is very needed by people. So, in my opinion, it is like another drama made by SEC to play with people hope. I bet it will be delayed again even if most people agree with ETF proposal.

I think they are playing into the whales hands personally, I remember when this was delayed before and it dropped the price. I think there is a correlation between the shorter-term tops of Bitcoins price and delays with the ETF. The whales don't want an ETF when the price is $8k, they want one when it was $4-5k.

Only they know whatever their plan is but this is more likely another delaying tactic.

I just don't think it will work this time, people have grown tired of this cheap strategy.

SEC does not care about people which use the cryptocurrency sphere and therefore SEC will decide what to do with the cryptocurrency sphere, so we should not expect that we can do something for this, the time will come and the SEC will make the right decision.

I think at this time we don't need the SEC Agreement to be able to increase the price of Bitcoin if public opinion is needed, then what they do is want to take some profits to have more BTC and sell it at a very high price.
Bitcoin ETF has never been approved by the SEC, and now they want to build public opinion for that agreement, this looks strange

yes because the blockchain technology is new. the sec might need to get the opinion of the people before making any final decision to avoid nepotism. remember crypto is all about decentralization. they would not make such decision alone.

I really agree with you because my husband has a bit of Bitcoin and Fiat backup for BuyBack.
Bitcoin is saved for trading with altcoins and the Fiat is ready to buy Bitcoin when the price drops to 4000 USD. ;D ;D ;D

it is true that the SEC uses public opinion to postpone it, and the SEC is indeed very influential in price increases.

It looks like the SEC is having a hard time accepting Bitcoin ETFs, and if Bitcoin ETFs are approved prices will increase and we will see Bitcoin prices higher than 2017 ??
I don't know how long the SEC will run this drama, I don't think they will receive a Bitcoin ETF when many countries accept transactions using Bitcoin and Altcoin.
The information I got recently is that the Whatsapp application can be used to send Bitcoin and this is a good step in the crypto world

it is absolutely true that such opinions are very influential, and I strongly believe that such opinions greatly affect the price of bitcoin or other crypto.
