Title: Price Manipulation?
Post by: Zed0X on June 04, 2019, 11:42:16 AM
Every time BTC pumps or dumps in a short time, many people would cry about whales manipulating the price. But is it really manipulation?

If you come to think of it, they are also traders who happen to have HUGE bags. They can affect the price each time they make a trade, they can short then buy back, and the market follows. There are also many traders who are doing this practice, the difference is that they do not have the bags to move the market like "whales" do.

I think that any crypto trader with a huge Bitcoin bag fall (ie, large volume of bitcoin and altcoins) fall into Whales group. The word "whale" is just the name given to those who can actually influence crypto market prices at any time, being it pump or dump strategies.

Have you ever known about the examples of whales group that gather big traders together and do pump-dump regularly? I sometimes interested to monitor their activities. I think they are the people that can gain the highest profits from market fluctuation. It should be very great experience to join there.  ;D ;D

I have never seen these people, but I still have to see a lot of prices in some cryptographic exchanges.
Maybe someone or a pumping group will do several orders with different orders. sell and buy with more than 5 orders on the crypt exchange. That will make other investors panic and place orders above the list price in exchange.

Manipulations in the market occur constantly and manipulate the price of Bitcoin and other coins. This is quite a common practice, because we are talking about trading and the trading of cryptocurrencies. The main thing is to find your place and learn how to earn in this business, but if it does not work out, then it remains only to watch.

The scenario of trading always changed and we can't prevent possible manipulation by those whales around us. They can help us earn fruitful profit but it doesn't mean it's safe to ride with their trend. You should able to determine their paths in order for you to avoid being swiped out during their dumping times. In business you don't care what to consider as long as you survive, that how the whales think all about.

Of course, virtually every one of us contributes to the manipulation of cryptocurrency prices. Several hundred ordinary traders have ways of doing the same thing as one big whale. The only difference is that it is very difficult for small traders to agree to act in one direction. However, if millions participate in the market, this effect is achieved arbitrarily.

Truely, the whales manipulate the market and has a bigger volume of profit, those doing the same makes some good profits, but they are not whales. Price manipulation can also be done by some pump and dump groups to either make a coin popular within a time frame, and later dump for profit. Therefore, by my own opinion, price manipulation is done by some group of individuals.

I agree with you, it seems that chaos in the crypto market is related to the fact that everyone, including beginners, who, due to their inexperience and lack of knowledge, help more experienced traders to manipulate the price and earn more, can trade in cryptocurrencies.

Yes they are exciting and mainly they organize pumps, they are very organize they may create and use a fake twitter account of the coin they intended to pump.
How they work
1. About 15 admin join one secret group together each has his own telegram pump channel with at least 10k to 40K member (imagine how اhuge the number of traders will be).
2. Admins will choose one low volume coin and buy from the coin first before their members.
3. they will set a time for a pump.
4. when time due they will give the coin name using a bot will send the name of the coin to all channels at one time.
5. the coin pump , admin will sell with 20 to 100% profit.  this groups work mainly at ow volume coins.

I don't know if it is manipulation because the marketcap is just super huge to be manipulated by someone, but I dunno really they may have that kind of mind and strategies to make people follow their lead and trap the followers into doing what they want.

Some people with huge bags can move the market temporarily. The thing is they are easily labeled as "manipulators" when what they are trying to do is just sell or buy. Of course there are also "whales" who use their holdings to gain advantage in their trades.

It is hard to tell if the price is really manipulated or it was the  real demand of some investors and there is nothing we can do but to be always vigilant that if there is really a manipulation by the big whales then we could ride with them with a perfect timing.

How do we say that if it is not a manipulation?
Pumps and dumps are kinds of manipulations for sure.
This makes crypto prices very volatile.

This guy already has a good answer to that
It is hard to tell if the price is really manipulated or it was the  real demand of some investors

Since this is a widely open market, you can't know for sure who are trying to pump & dump, who simply trying to market buy, or who are simply selling in huge volumes for whatever reason. The thing is, we quickly think or assume that the market is manipulated everytime there are big price movements.

Agreed, this is a common assumption that every investor holds, ignoring the real reasons behind the price move.
