Title: Are we allowed to insert affiliate links in the signature?
Post by: Peter90 on June 09, 2019, 11:15:33 AM
Everybody knows that posting affiliate links outside the specific forum section leads to penalties.

But I just found this, from the Admin
"2- If you want best results: Put your referrals in your signature and be helpful in the other sections..."
https://www.altcoinstalks.com/index.php?topic=13617.0

Now I'm confused, and as I don't want to try and learn the answer the hard way, I ask here: Are we allowed to insert affiliate links in the signature?, so that posting around the forum, said links will be visible and clickable everywhere?

Yes this is still the case, so feel free to do so. Others also have refs in their signatures and aren't being punished for it as far as I know.

So, now I've succeeded in inserting a picture in my signature and in centering it, and I must admit, because of that I'm extremely proud of myself.
Question: clicking on it, the picture gets BIGGER, and I think it's not just me but il works like that for every Altcoinstalker.
In imgur.com I downsized the pic in order to respect the size limits for pics in my signature, but the BIGGER version of it, the clicked one, doesn't respect them for sure.
Should this be a problem, @Mods, before you kick me out of the house, please send me a note and I'll delete immediately my signature.  8)
Thanks!

I changed the size of the pic again, apparently that has taken care of the issue

Just found another confirmation
Admin: "You can easily create a nice gif or image banner and put it in you signature with the links to your site. It will show under every topic you ask, under every answer you give and it's a much better way to advertise your site all while being a valuable and helpful member of the community."

That being the case, I really don't understand why people should spam the forum despite the management's generosity

I see that you have solved your issues. The thing that you can use your referral links in your signature is great advantage in this forum. I am using them when I am not participating in any signature campaigns and I can tell you I found some new users via my referral links. So it really works great.

I actually understand the situation you find yourself right now but to be honest with you, in as much as I know there is nothing wrong in using ref link for signature, so you are very free
