Two major reports this year have concluded that trading volume on top crypto site CoinMarketCap is largely false, but it looks like the website’s owner never got the memo. Of the top 25 of the 260 exchanges listed on the site, more than 75% have been suspected of reporting fake volume. Here’s what CoinMarketCap has been doing to address the massively inflated numbers.

And Facebook is already dealing with scams related to its libra cryptocurrency. According to the Washington Post, a raft of fake accounts and scams purporting to sell libra have cropped up on Facebook itself, including one video offering a discount on libra coins that have been distributed to early investors and a fake website called “buylibracoins.com,” which remains online.
