I was recently reading Bitcoin’s price analysis between 2017 and 2019 in this investing blog: https://www.investing.com/analysis/bitcoin-analysis-2017-vs-2019-200444573
One interesting thing that I came to know is that the price of many altcoins also increased at the same time when the price of bitcoin increased in late 2017. However, the same was not repeated during the recent hike of Bitcoin in 2019, means the price of other coins did not increase.
Also, there was the mention of some coins with real value, which is supposed to gain value in the coming future. What’s your take on it?

I am not really surprised by that. We are in a different condition, too many altcoins nowadays. There are some changes in crypto space and the interest from investors are not the same as in late 2017. So, I think it is normal if there is a different impact on Bitcoin price improvement.

It's understandable that 2017's bitcoin is different from 2019's bitcoin. Not sure how exact it is but a majority of today investors are the old from 2017. Many of them have FOMOed and got lost in 2017 and hence, are more cautious in 2019. That's why they keep money in bitcoin, making its dominance increases day by day.
Yes those altcoins with real value will eventually shine. Atom, Bat are some of them. However, finding good altcoins among new altcoins is a difficult task.

2017 was the hype year for most altcoins while 2018 was the rekt year.
2019 is still a recovery year for bitcoin in my view. I think altcoins will only have a big rally similar to 2017 once bitcoin reaches $20K again.

I agree with you. Investors have changed their styles and mindset on crypto investment. They only focus on crypto coins that can raise in a short time and not really interested in altcoins with low volumes. We can see that they just pick the altcoins with high volumes and most popular currently.

There is nothing surprising. The cryptocurrency market is still relatively young and the participants in this market are still studying it and at the same time learning and gaining experience. Therefore, their actions will differ from the previous ones, which means that the price movements on it will constantly change. Now we see again the trend of a general increase in the price of altcoins together with bitcoin, although there are exceptions. In general, the price of altcoins largely depends on the prospects and usefulness of their project.

This is how bitcoin separated itself from altcoins and the thing that couldn't imitate specially those new projects who entered in the crypto market. This is what I call "the absolute power of bitcoin over altcoins" because it stop the life of those altcoins who were just in the market to scam.

There is nothing shocking here. In 2017, with the rise in the price of bitcoin, almost all altcoins grew in price. Some altcoins then increased in value by hundreds of thousands of percent, and a few even by millions of percent.
Now the situation is different. Only promising altcoins are growing in price. The cryptocurrency market is getting more mature.

something almost everyone already know about btc price movement and other alts, and yes this year is different but who knows why it is so.
Undoubtedly, not only 2020, but also 2021 will be completely different, and it will be very difficult to draw an analogy, and this is primarily because investors and other users of cryptocurrency have begun to treat their activities in the market in a different way. It is because Bitcoin has gained more adoption compared to altcoins. Bitcoins has been embraced by countries than any other coins. The trust of the people, community and investors are stronger in Bitcoin than altcoins that is why some alts are dependent on the price of Bitcoin.

Are you sure about the red line? You are right about 2017, but you are wrong about 2019 !!! Bitcoin has the power to boost the prices of other coins and that is why most of the time Bitcoin will increase and decrease together with some ALTS. BTC boosted some ALTS in 2017 and it did it again in 2019, if you don't believe check the graph of BTC from February 2019 - June 2019 and compare it with these coins ETH, XRP, LTC, BCH

All those coins pumped in the same month with BTC price in 2019. There were many coins but I mentioned those as an example, you can check their graphs on CMC or Coingecko.

Yes, You're right I also sold my bitcoin at last year, at low price. After saw the bitcoin increased, I think why I didn't hold bitcoin. I think that's normal , and who hold bitcoin until now, they will get the big profit.
