Title: If it's not cryptocurrency then are there other options?
Post by: ayatoslaw on August 31, 2019, 01:39:32 AM
we have to admit that cryptocurrency has advantages over real money (FIAT), but it's also not wrong if real money is still superior to cryptocurrency because of the regulations it has.
if we look at the development of the past 3 decades, a lot has changed, especially in the era of communication and digital.
if we see almost all the work and also what we want we can easily get just by holding a smartphone.
so, I think if today's payment still uses physical and real currencies, then it is possible that cryptocurrency will be the next choice because of its convenience, low cost and wide reach throughout the world,
So, how do you feel about this?

You're absolutely right. For example, it’s convenient for me to use cryptocurrency in order to quickly and inexpensively transfer money to another person, regardless of where he lives. I often have to make payments and send money to people in other countries, and it would not be convenient for me to do this with my bank card because of the high fees for one transaction. By the way, I must say that a bank transfer can be processed for several days, but a transaction, for example, Ethereum, can take several seconds or minutes, depending on the network load.

If you consider fiat as real money, then what do you call cryptocurrencies? fake money? I hope you clarify that one.
No doubt each has advantage over the other but overall crypto is still superior. The only advantage of fiat I see right now is that it can be exchanged offline.

Cryptocurrency being used as payment is already happening but at acceptance is at a slower pace.

Any means of payment have their advantages and their disadvantages. Apparently, absolutely perfect money does not exist. In my opinion, FIAT is also necessary and it must exist together with cryptocurrency. In addition, no state will be able to do without its own national money, they are a prerequisite for the existence of any state.

mean "real" is can be grasped and touched its form,
like you can hold a pizza and taste it, and it's different if only the pizza picture is on the computer.
cryptocurrency has a value, but that doesn't mean that the value is real, because it's only code or numbers.
but everyone has a different opinion and I appreciate it :), if you are pleased what do you think about "real"?

You're overestimating crytocyrrencies' ability. Take a look at China's QR payment then you'll realize cryptocurrencies are unnecessary for a cashless world.

Perhaps you can replace "real" with the word "physical".  You don't say something has a real value  simply because you can touch it. I can also touch a stone and I can say it is real but it has zero value. The term "real value" has a different meaning in economics, it usually refers to "monetary" value. Since the topic is about cryptocurrencies, Zion must have thought of the monetary value.

Yes, good point. I remember watching a documentary where a city in China is cashless. It is also important to note that there are news circulating about the Chinese government planning to have their own national cryptocurrency.

I'll just pull this from investopedia to have a more specific meaning of "real value":

Quote
The real value of an item, also called its relative price, is its nominal value adjusted for inflation and measures that value in terms of another item.

I do agree that "physical cash" or simply "fiat" is more appropriate to use.

maybe it's just a difference in perspective,
I also agree with you if I use the same perspective as you. :)

It is still difficult to answer this question, because too few countries have legalized cryptocurrencies, and so far the rest of the countries are thinking about it, while others completely refuse to legalize cryptocurrencies, and this for the time being is putting off the incredible prosperity of cryptocurrencies.

Yes, it is possible even if there are still many countries that don't agree to legalize it. Cryptocurrency can be more efficient and effective to lower the funds for transactions but people who don't know about the internet and digital technology will be hard to use it. Moreover, it should be supported by an internet connection that cannot be found in all areas.

In terms of technological application and advancement cryptocurrency is far superior than FIAT currency. But in terms of stability and inherent value FIAT currency is far superior than cryptocurrency because every fIAT was guaranteed by every state with a gold that deposited its own central banks. If FIAT wants to come up with crypto government should adopt the technology use by cryptocurrency and that is Blockchain.

When viewed in the future, it will happen because Cryptocurrency has helped many transactions more easily and quickly. in addition, the growth of enthusiasts to use Cryptocurrency is always increasing every year. can be seen with the growth of ICO projects when crypto prices down, it does not reduce investor interest to always find a place to invest and use Cryptocurrency. replacing real money, I think that makes no sense. Crypto is known for now as an investment.

Crypto is absolutely real money no doubt about that, and because certain English usesage are not placed appropriately, it tend to bring in misunderstanding but obviously, crypto is real money any day. If we take out time learn the definition of money we might get it clearer. Thank you

As I see it, cryptocurrency has a more transparent system and the reason why the government still rejects it is because the price is very easy to change, but cryptocurrency will still have a fiat exchange rate pair, because not all countries accept payments using crypto, but only allowed for investment
