As of this writing, bitcoin dominance is now at 69% per CMC and this might go even higher to maybe 80 or 90%.
With the info provided above, what do you think will happen to the altcoins market? It's more likely that majority of those outside top 100 will die pretty quickly and the rest will be fighting hard for survival. Those top 10 should be safe but the other teams, together with their respective community, will have to step up their game to stay relevant.

Altcoins die every day because now all investment demand unfortunately goes only to bitcoin, and when we will see the growth of altcoins, it is not clear, so most likely the dominance of bitcoin will increase yet, and altcoins will fall in price.
-
We need a reset before alts season. Bitcoin dominance's increase will make alts become dusts then we'll see another pump season like in the late 2017.

We need a reset before alts season.
Weren't alts already in reset? I mean majority of altcoins market hasn't really caught up with bitcoin.
Bitcoin dominance's increase will make alts become dusts then we'll see another pump season like in the late 2017.
What makes you think there will be another altcoin pump like in 2017? Are you assuming that alts will ride bitcoin in its next bullrun?
-
90% Bitcoin dominance is scary. If that ever happens, then altcoins are just f*cked! Literally, almost nobody will invest in them anymore especially start ups. If someone even considers investing in alts, the choices would only be eth, xrp, bcash, or ltc.
-
With the current condition on the market, altcoins will have good future if Bitcoin price can increase significantly. I am afraid with the future of altcoins if this situation continues and no improvement. Altcoins are hard to develop and many of them possibly become dead coins.
-
If the altcoins project is good, then despite the fall in prices on the market, they will develop and this circumstance is unlikely to affect so much that they will leave the market forever.
As for bitcoin, the level of capitalization, the indicator is very changing. Now people are investing in bitcoin in the hope of good growth until the end of the year. Whether these hopes will come true or not, however, the capitalization of Bitcoin in this case will soon fall. Therefore, do not worry about this.
-
Yeah, altcoins days will surely come despite this bear conditions. Remember that Bitcoin is the first crypto and will always enjoy more and more investors interest on a regular bases.
I think most altcoins are all still very much in their in infant stages and will need some more time to be fully adopted by many people like the bitcoin.
-
It doesn't look like it's falling down, I just checked CMC and bitcoin dominance is now at 70.1%. It is more likely that dominance will increase as we get closer to bitcoin halving. Let's try to see this objectively and not be biased because we are holding alts.
-
as I know, the price of altcoin always depends on the price of bitcoin. if the price of bitcoin goes up then the price of altcoin will also go up.
-
I cannot say what the future of Altcoins but one thing is for sure,Altcoins keep losing ground against Bitcoin in terms of market capitalization.
-
I do not think that in this situation you should worry about altcoins. The price of altcoins and interest in them really decreased, but if the project develops and there is a real working product in it, it will develop even at a low price for its token. The price of the token is not so important here. It even has a positive role in the sense that low prices increase demand for altcoins. The situation with the advent of the level of capitalization and the price dominance of Bitcoin will constantly change. In addition, in my opinion, these indicators will inevitably fall over time.

cryptocurrency is decentralized and users and markets demand more competitive competition where only coins and tokens that continue to provide the best for everything will be recognized and used in the market.

And will these coins and tokens be exchanged for a crypto?
-
Altcoins having a mini-rally which resulted in a slight decrease of bitcoin's dominance from last weeks 70.1% to todays' 69.7%
Another known figure in the crypto trading industry, Peter Brandt, claims that 99% of altcoins will be forgotten in five years (https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/09/03/peter-brandt-99-of-altcoins-will-be-forgotten-in-five-years/). There are many factors to consider on his statement but this is another acknowledgement of bitcoins ever increasing dominance.
-
It is hard to stop the dominance of Bitcoin because people should think realistically. We know that till today most altcoins seem difficult to improve while Bitcoin experiences good improvement. It makes sense if people prefer to choose Bitcoin with this case.
I am not really sure to talk about the future of altcoins this time. If this continues, only top altcoins can have a future, while others may disappear from exchanges soon.
-
I think only the top altcoin will continue to survive in the current state of the crypto market. Moreover, the position of the bitcoin is not shaken even though the crypto market is experiencing a long-term depression.
-
Bitcoin's price dominance in the cryptocurrency market is temporary. Now there is such a situation that many expect a rise in the price of bitcoin in the last quarter of this year. Because of this, the dominance of Bitcoin has begun to rise markedly. After a certain time, funds will surely flow into altcoins.
-
Majority of top alts are making a good run lately while bitcoin is moving sideways above $10K resulting in a decrease in market dominance (67.8%). This (bitcoin sideways = altcoin pump) is what many enthusiasts have been expecting but it hasn't been always the case.
-
Altcoins will always be here. The good obes, will be on top, and many other, will come and go.
-
In my opinion, altcoins are able to develop in the conditions of strict price dominance of bitcoin, and in the conditions of their price drop.
However, I do not think that such a dominance of bitcoin will be long. Now there is great expectation of cryptocurrency holders and investors in the rise in the price of bitcoin. Therefore, its dominance is growing. The situation will be defused and this dominance will inevitably fall. In the future, I expect a gradual decline in the level of price dominance of bitcoin.
-
If that dominance reaches btc will probably go back or might surpass its previous ATH. I assume that is somehow we can't avoid. But I dont think altcoin will be diluted in the process since btc can dragged their price up like what happened last bull run. Maybe some none volume altcoins will died but those projects with outstanding rating can ride and sustain its stance. Well who knows what will happened right? We better anticipate all events that could trigger a good or bad market.

I think that's not the future scenario Most of the altcoins will survive as long as the team was actively building the platform, and regularly shared the development in the community in that way those holders and investors will continue to support the project.
-
I think this bitcoin dominance should help those that want bring in their own cryptocurrency project the edge to start building on bitcoin blockchain so that the price of bitcoin will affect the new alts so that they too can survive, I think that will be the best solution for altcoins future.
-
Most altcoins provide no value or real-world use. Expect these altcoins to evaporate in short order.Bitcoin dominance will continue to increase while altcoins continually lose ground.Nevertheless, the top 100 altcoins will be survive and I expect them to develop better.

Bitcoin dominance will always strengthen due to increasing demand, new projects running ICO or IEO in crypto exchanges will provide payment options using BTC, ETH and dollars, from here bitcoin prices will increase, after IEO ends, investors who trust and have experience in holding new altcoins will not sell it and exchange it for BTC.
Altcoin which has a low price does not mean to die if the developer continues to make updates to the products they have
-
As the main coin in Cryptocurrency, Bitcoin is only natural to dominate the Crypto market. For Altcoin, if they want to continue to survive, of course, the coin must have advantages compared to others, in order to continue to live like Ethereum, BCH, Litecoin, XRP and other Altcoin.
-
For altcoins that are in the top 100, I'm sure they won't die that easily. The product that they promised is running. Even their tokens are used on their platform or product. Like an exchange.
-
so that altcoin will gradually become extinct, only the highest altcoin can still survive. altcoin will definitely sort out the most influential ones, such as eth, xrp, trx, bnb, bch, and xlm.

Bitcoin dominance is one of the hottest topic in the market today! But how could these dominance affect the altcoin market for instance. for me I believe its just a minimal effect on the most altcoins when it comes on its prices because aside from bitcoin most altcoins are also traded in other pairs like stablescoin and other altcoins like Ethereum. so the market is not just rely on Bitcoin for trading but also on the other pairs.

I'm locking this topic as it seems it's being used by users to spam their signatures now. Some don't even bother to check if they already replied before. Just commenting without adding new to the discussion.
