In any ways, i think libra, if allow to proceed as planned by Facebook, may also be trusted despite some form of uncertainty or trust from various individuals, governments or organization. I also doubt the possibility of IMF handling libra without any element(s) of trust, and remember that libra is another form of stable coin in crypto, it has to be a decentralized coin/token and not centralized as may be handle by IMF.

If Libra becomes managed by the IMF, then from Zuckerberg’s previous planning there will be practically nothing left. This will be a completely different coin. However, I agree that in general, people's confidence in cryptocurrency will increase much if it is under the control of a state or group of states, than just a large private corporation. Moreover, Facebook has a not very good reputation in terms of trust in it.

why should the IMF?
without the IMF also all coins are trusted if they have a high enough value and purchasing power, like BTC
but it's okay if the IMF which holds LIBRA's control at least crypto will begin to be maintained by the government
