Title: Gatehub Wallet Data Breach Compromises Passwords of 1.4 Million Users

Troy Hunt, a security researcher behind data breach index site “Have I been pwn;  reported that password data, personal and private information of more than 2.2 million users of two sites were dumped online. The compromised data as confirmed by Troy belong to accounts of RuneScape bot provider EpicBot and crypto wallets, Gatehub.

According to a statement by Hunt, the first haul included personal information from 1.4 million Gatehub crypto wallet user accounts. The second haul consisted of more than 800,000 user accounts; on one of the world’s most secure RuneScape bot providers, EpicBot. Breached information reportedly included registered passwords, email addresses, 2-factor authentication keys, wallet hashes and mnemonic phrases. Officials at Gatehub claimed the wallet hashes were fortunately not accessible. However, these is according to information suggested by investigators.
