Title: Crypto call center scam busted by Thai police in Bangkok
Post by: mlawson71 on December 13, 2019, 01:32:01 PM
Thailand’s immigration police raided a scam cryptocurrency call center (https://theforexreview.com/2019/12/06/crypto-call-center-scam-busted-by-thai-police-in-bangkok/) in Bangkok and arrested twenty four Chinese nationals.

Those twenty-four Chinese nationals have apparently been renting a house in the city and using it as their base of operations.

The Thai police put out a statement, according to which the perpetrators of the scam have been targeting people in mainland China, offering them trading with digital currencies on the Huobi Global cryptocurrency exchange and have been doing so since March this year.

The police also suspects a Thai citizen to have been involved in the scam, but so far there has been no arrests of any such individuals.

These scams – Chinese citizens going to Thailand and targeting other Chinese citizens to scam them seem to happen pretty often, does anyone know why exactly Thailand seems to be the destination of choice for this?
