Developer Justin Drake proposed to launch the transition of the Ethereum ecosystem to stage 2.0 on July 30 next year — the fifth anniversary of the network's creation.
In addition to the landmark date, Drake also noted that at the end of July, the test network should work steadily for at least three months.
However, another Ethereum Foundation developer Danny Ryan believes that Ethereum 2.0 could be launched much earlier.
Other researchers considered the question too premature and noted that the date can be determined later.
Recall that at the beginning of the month, the block browser for The Ethereum 2.0 test network was launched, and then the testnet itself with support for several clients.

Previously, there was information that the transition to Ethereum 2.0 should begin in early January. I assumed that due to these improvements, ethereum will rise in price significantly by spring. Perhaps this would be the impetus for the growth of the remaining altcoins issued on the platform of this coin.
July 30 for such a transition will not be the right time, since in August activity on the cryptocurrency market drops sharply, and then we can not see the market growth in this regard.

What will be the major differences between Ethereum 2.0 and the current network?
