Having buy orders placed for coins is essential to ensure you don't miss out on grabbing your coins at the price you have earmarked. Apart from those using trading bots, most of us have to watch the markets to make the trades. If you do your research and pick out potential low points, you can place buy orders at various levels so that if the market makes brief sudden drops, your orders will go through. For example, I have buy orders in on a few coins at around 10% below the current market rate.
