Title: Has anyone been paid in crypto for 'real work'?
Post by: cryptothief on April 08, 2018, 03:08:17 AM
Has anyone actually been paid in cryptocurrency for 'real work'? I'm not talking bounties or cryptocurrency related projects, but normal everyday work. Still seems to be an unusual occurrence for most people, but think this will be a sign that acceptance of cryptocurrencies is growing. I have heard of various people getting paid for odd jobs, but not many, there's a long way to go yet.

This is a welcome development but it will take a lot of time for this to happen and also bitcoin has to be stable at almost all time.
imagine working all month for a specific amount of money and when you get paid in bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, that crypto then devalue hugely how will one feel.
my opinion is bitcoin has to be stable at all time for this to happen.

My friend get paid in ETH for about 1 year, yes, it's slow but people are starting to adopt crypto currency.
it a welcome development. imagine signing an agreement to be paid in Eth after a year of work when each Eth is 600$, and when you finally get paid it drops to 100 $ and keep dropping.  :-[ :-[ :-[
fait is somewhat stable but crypto is not stable. Crypto goes skyrocket high and also goes down rapidly too at any given time.
People invest in crypto because of this anomaly either you earn hugly or you go home empty.
When it comes to real work a stable currency is needed to avoid chaos between employees and employers.

I do freelance marketing jobs such as chatbot development or content production and get paid in crypto whenever it's possible. Last time I got a crypto contract, ETH was at 300 so I'm really appreciating it when a company can pay in crypto. The process is also much faster than the usual bank transfer.
In the startup sphere, it's becoming more common and accepted I think.

Some platforms are being developed just for that, such as Blocklancer (https://blocklancer.net/)

I think those who managed the campaign were paid by crypto as they were working in crypto. In real job outside crypto still money is the payment. No more no less but money is the best in real time of world without any relation with crypto.

I did not hear about using cryptocurrency as salary because its really hard to pay the exact amount considering that the value of crypto is very volatite and keeps on moving anytime once theres an update on the market.

I haven't been paid in crypto for doing work aside crypto related taks. I wish I would but cryptocurrency is not widely accepted in my country. It will be a great experience to be paid in crypto.

I haven't been paid any Cryptocurrency aside participating in bounties or airdrops. I will have wished I could get paid in cypto if the coin is accepted in my country. I believe as the awareness creation continues, a lot more people will be using cryptocurrencies as mode of payment.

Let us wait more time and we can definitely experience that because we are coming to worldwide acceptance of crypto. Just set aside the negativity at this time but be focus about the bright future tomorrow.

Can you be more specific on what type of jobs you are referring to? I am working in a ICO company and i am always being paid by ICO for the work done.

You can see Storiqa and TRON, when Storiqa sells goods in the BETA version, they receive the Storiqa.

Suppose you buy a watch, T-shirt or jeans can use the Storiqa token, isn't that a real job that is paid with cryptocurrency?

That's all right. This is the same means of payment only non-cash. This sphere of payment is just beginning to develop and in the future will be very popular. Do not go out of the house to buy goods with delivery for tokens, not for Fiat.

For a real work, i have not seen anyone paid with cryptocurrency. My assumption is that every country must pay salaries (normal activity work) based on the country's currency that has been validated by the government, by fiat currency. Unless you work as a team for developing ICO's projects, mining bitcoin, and consider it as real work.
