Title: Shopify joins the Libra Association
Post by: mlawson71 on February 27, 2020, 10:31:12 AM
After multiple bad news about various high-profile companies leaving the Libra Association, namely asterCard, Visa, PayPal, eBay and even Vodafone recently, Libra finally caught a break. Shopify, which is a Canadian-based e- commerce platform announced its plans to join the Libra Association, which backs the Libra stablecoin that is supposed to launch later this year.

Shopify CEO Tobi Lutk said the following on Twitter: “Shopify spends a lot of time thinking about how to make commerce better in parts of the world where money and banking could be far better. That’s why we decided to become a member of the Libra Association”.

Lutk also explained the decision to hitch Shopify’s wagon to Libra by saying that it was made in the light of future potential rather than heard movement.

I think only time will tell how wise that decision was.

A lot of bad news very much affects the credibility of the project and trust is subsiding, I have a feeling.

I also read a article about it on blog , that Libra lost their big invester . I sure there is a valid reason behind it .
This is really good to see that Shopify comes forward to give his support to Libra .

I think this Canadian company is very brave and enthusiastic about LIBRA but unfortunately LIBRA is now largely abandoned by large companies, as the OP has mentioned.
Shopify does not seem to be from Canadians who only invest in it because usually Canadians tend to seek safety from platforms that have no clear development such as LIBRA. Cmiiw

In a business on such a large scale it seems like it will be very difficult to get back on the main line if it has been disappointed before.
Vodafone and PayPal have been disappointed by LIBRA, so it looks like these two companies will find it difficult to return because this factor is the consideration of the two companies.

Really? Is anybody know about the progress of this project and this news? I think that the Libra project is actually dying because of the coronavirus. Moreover, if it comes from outside of this country, it will be riskier than what we expect yesterday that Libra may be good, but we need more prooves

In my opinion, if libra if team comes up with marketing on the Facebook platforms will energize the libra project and attract more companies to the association.
I think that when the project's lingering challenges facing the project are are resolved, some members of the association that had left the association may be attracted back to the libra project. Facebook have huge followers and a marketing on it platforms about libra will greatly enhance and boost the project.

For people who care about their money, they will not choose libra as their investment. We all know the reason behind it.
Even though Shopify support it, I think not truly effected

If Libra is launched soon this year and a lot of companies join forces, Libra will definitely become a pretty big coin project
