According to Roger Ver & his video, vending machines in Hong Kong only accept BCH & ETH, but they do not accept payments in BTC:

I was really surprised about this, I still thought that only the system of BTC ATM & all places using crypto would accept payments in BTC. But in Hong Kong we see a fork of BTC being accepted instead of BTC itself @@
I was quite confused and didn't understand the reason. Here are some of my speculations:
+ BTC price is too high, not convenient in micro transactions;
+ BTC transaction costs are too high;
+ A vending machine investor is a fan of BCH & ETH :)
I look forward to your opinions, especially from HongKongers.

Is it only that ine vending machine or all vending machines in HK that cannot accept BTC as payment. As what I can see on the video, it seems that there is menu for BTC payment probably it is some error or lless of transaction?

If the problem for fees may be said to be true because usually everyone when WD coins from Binance uses TRX or DOGE with a nominal value for fees.
For the vending machine problem, they could be fans of ETH and BCH, but are they serious about forgetting the cryptocurrency master, Bitcoin?
I think this is a scenario from Hong Kong to create a FUD for Bitcoin, where when Bitcoin goes down they HongKong people will buy with a bag full.

HongKong's acceptance of BCH & ETH shows that they have no legal problems with BTC or other cryptocurrencies. The problem, probably as the opinion of everyone, is optimizing which tokens/coins to use for payment.

I think it is another drama to avoid using BTC. This may happen because some people hate Bitcoin to grow up and adopted more. But it is no problem if BTC is not accepted there, other countries or places are ready to accept Bitcoin. ;)

It is funny, commonly BTC is always the number 1 but this time BTC is ignored. I think this is likely done by BTC haters. I am quite curious in what the reasons they don't accept BTC.

i think that it is not all Hongkong. but based on the video, it is only a vending machine that he used, right? So, can we generalise it to the whole country that does not accept BTC? what is about the other vending machines? Also confirmed that they do not accept BTC?

For lovers of ETH, this is good news. ETH and BCH need encouragement so prices rise. Phase 0 ETH 2.0 is rumored to be launched in the near future. And this successfully pushed ETH prices up.

Actually one by one Hong Kong will accept bitcoin one day. It may have some political issues that Hong-Kong don't accept bitcoin or any other banking system can be the case of not accepting bitcoin in Hong Kong.

Apparently, the explanation is that bitcoin is poorly used as a means of payment. For this, in general, it is not practical. But people gonna viewed btc as just a means of investment if thats your reason. I know the law of the market but we are talking about a potential usage of btc by adoption. Just because its expensive, its unworthy already to be used for microtransaction? Then we can just see btc as just as stock where value depends only on market but not on its ability to be used.

So what's the problem with that! Bitcoin Cash and Ethereum are also cryptocurrency for me it doesn't matter if only those coins were accepted in HongKong vending machine the world is not only Hongkong it is wide, and maybe soon Bitcoin will be added on those vending machine. It is a personal choice of the owner of the vending machine so no real issues or maybe this machine or his overall business could have been sponsored by Roger Ver and now he is paying back by introducing bch supported vending machines but do not worry as long as it is crypto related it will benefit the crypto market in the long term.

It is surprising, this is the first time I know that BCH & ETH can be more acceptable than BTC. I don't know what's happening in Hongkong, but BTC usually became the first coin to be accepted. I think people in Hongkong aren't BTC haters, this is just a coincidence. But actually I still doubt that they don't accept BTC. ;D

your opinion though but you should note that altcoins has usage based in different countries. Asian region favours TRON, NEO, IOTA and many more altcoins. canada and Australia favours XRP. same as BTC been favours and use in many African countries and south America. same can be noticed on hong kong favouring BCH.

It is true that I have never considered this issue, as some coins/tokens are widely accepted in some territories around the world, and in others are not.
What is the cause? Payment habits, legal provisions or simply people's preferences? I want to know your opinion too.
