Title: BEWARE OF GIVEAWAYS
Post by: upyem2k on June 25, 2020, 09:33:06 AM
Scammers are taking new dimensions of scams to dupe the cryptocurrencies investors, most especially the newbies. One of the method they recently employ is giveaway of the well known cryptocurrencies. They use the name of well known and rich cryptocurrency investors and require you to first send a certain amount to receive multiple folds of the amount you send. They are scammers.

ONE of such is the acclaimed ongoing Elon Musk and Tesla giveaway. They're not involved in it. The scammers are just using their names to scam the unsuspecting newbies.

There are lots of scammer who are taking advantage of the word giveaways when it comes to crypto because they could easily get your personal information and use it for illegal matters. There are also people who lies about some big discount of a coin but first you need to give a money so it was an obvious trap that we must be aware of.

True, many giveaway cryptocurrency rewards such as eth, doge, ltc, even their own token by giving a rate of 1USD when registered on the exchange later.

Be careful to visit the website, check first. Worried there is a virus in it.

They ask for our data so we get their tokens. Watch out for that.

The story heard it that the scammers where about to steal over 100btc  by promising those that supported them to double whatever they send to a wallet that was shared to them. it was unfoortunate that those that were affected failed to understand the scams behind the cryptocurrency system.

Not only Elon Musk and Tesla were victims, several projects that were booming were also victims. Always check their official channels. Don't just visit the site. Many of us have been exposed to copypaste malware. Copy address changes when pasted.

Thanks for the heads up.

The problem with newbies is that they want to earn but earn everything quickly. Which is practically impossible in this world unless you get some kind of inheritance.

Pyramid based schemes always look great on paper, but the truth is that they are Ponzi schemes and such schemes should be always be avoided because you will not only destroy your investment but also others.

Keep away from giveaways and pyramid schemes they are meant only to scam you.

You are right. We must be careful and smart to check the giveaways. Many giveaways are just a way of scammers to steal people's money or data. I think the scammers won't disappear and always be there, so we must be more careful every time. Don't be interested in strange or non-sense offers.

This often happens in the crypto world because there is legit money that they can get. The scammers are working for money, making some phising, ripperng the victims, and also deceivng the inevstment. I often read about the GA by elon musk nd I also don't beleive in that. Moreove GA that leads us to deposit or transfer any saldo fost to the wallet.

Many of these give aways are scam and  many of them currently ongoing, only we just have to be very careful on registering on these free give aways. Scammers can pass through these free give aways to defraud some people. Be at alert all the time.

Day by day it's getting harder to prevent this type of activity. Also, I think investors should not be lazy. You have to do enough research before you put your money into any project. After all, it's your money and I think no one wants to lose their money in this type of activity. So do not be lazy and do some research before you invest.

You are very selective to choose crypto jobs, but it is good for you. That's true, most of the bounties are just worthless and used by the scammers to steal people's data. Be careful once the team members ask for your ID or ask you to do KYC. It is actually the way of scammers to get data.

I'm always careful about giveaways. Most scammers use top coins so that ordinary people join and steal their data like PK. I believe giveways are carried out by well-known exchanges like Binance.
Always cross check before joining.

Mostly giveaways are not worth joining, because no one gives free money so easy, like icos, 95% of them are not good projects and scams, so before joining any giveaway look carefully and do good research about it.

Thank you friends for sharing your information. About prizes by using the famous Cryptocurrency name, it often happens. I often get rewards via email and messages via Telegram. But when we join they ask for money. Something like this I will not do and ignore it. Scams like this that make Airdrop are now a lot of fakes.

I think the crypto market is flooded with current fraud. There are many scam projects. There are currently many giveaways that are scam. There are many scam giveaway campaigns that are exactly the same as the real giveaway. But I can peel off the scams. For this you need to understand that if they demand gas fee from you first then scam giveaway. So you have to be aware.

You just need to be guided by the long-known expression that free cheese happens only in a mousetrap. In the world of cryptocurrencies, sometimes there is a free distribution of coins and tokens in order to further popularize them. However, in these cases, it is never required to send them a certain amount in any cryptocurrency in advance. If someone first asks them to send them a small amount of cryptocurrencies in order to receive a larger amount in the future, this is always a fraud.

Scammers will not stop unless there are strick rules implemented in cryptocurrency which I think impossible because of decentralized system. However, no matter how strick, how wise the rules, scammers can make away to think new approach to steal other assets. Giveaways is weakness of desperate people with the mindset of get rich quickly.

By all means, these fraudsters do earn money. For me away like this by asking for the first money and will be refunded a large amount of money, this is a real scam. Although they use big names or already popular cryptocurrencies. Do not easily be interested in such a way and have many victims.

If you get such a gift do a check and if you find something suspicious, it is better to leave it.

It is not only about giveaways, we must be aware from the phishing done by the scammers by offering the high airdrop or giveaways. They may obligate you to transfer a few moments at first before getting the tokens. This is not right. the one you should pay attention to is never transfer to the wallet or place to receive the GA.

Correct, many giveaways are only about scams. It is a warning for us to not join any giveaways, just follow if it is created/provided by trustable platforms. If the giveaways are created by unpopular platforms, it is better to not join. What for joining it if we only waste time and get no money.

Scammers are constantly addicted to scam. They use various methods to scam. At present, the scourge of scandals continues to grow. They scam using the names and photos of famous investors. They make various plans to grab money. Many new investors fall into their trap. Yes, Elon Musk and Telsa Giveaway have matched this cycle. However, the scammers have threatened their project. It seems that scammers will not end whatever the condition, they will always be there and improvise their ways to deceive the victims. Well, now, it is about the scam using giveaway. I have several times also received this kind of phishing and they are really promising. but of course, we should not only look at the GA but also analyze them whether it is really legit or not. Especially when they order us to KYC. be careful

Right. When you attend a giveaway event, find out carefully who the investor is, their company, the website is true to what we know about the project. For example, some guys use twitter accounts to impersonate to giveaway, thereby their follower count will increase drastically during that time.
