Ripple’s director of product is rolling out the beta version of Payburner, an XRP-based e-commerce payment platform.
In a new Twitter thread, Craig DeWitt, says Payburner is designed to make it extremely easy to send and receive instant global payments. The new product, which started as DeWitt’s side project, functions as a non-custodial wallet. This can be helping XRP to position itself in the front row of the expanding and global eCommerce business and I am hoping that XRP will be doing all they can to produce more mainstream adoption on this latest addition of the things it can offer. Personally, I am not anymore a big fan and enthusiast of XRP so I am crossing my fingers on this latest move from them and wishing that it would be capturing a big audience otherwise XRP would start to be considered as just another history sediment. If what Craig DeWitt says is true (Payburner is designed to make sending and receiving instant global payments much easier and is a non-custodial wallet) then this would be a great thing for decentralization enthusiasts.
While I am surprised that such a decentralized product would be released by a centralized company like Ripple, Ripple has been widely used for payments in the past due to its centralization and partnerships with central banks so I wonder if banks will accept this decentralized wallet.

Does nobody notice that this thread created 4 years ago and recently bumped by new user? Anyway, with how XRP is mostly centralized and Ripple have history of sharing Bitcoin FUD, i would rather make payment with fiat or stablecoin.

Sometimes, looking at the date of creation of the thread is very helpful.
The thread has been created 4 years ago with no posts on it until to date. I looked at any updates on Payburner online, but it seems like there hasn't been any. Anyway as for the project as a whole, I don't support it TBH, and if there's anybody here who's holding some XRP, always take note that it's the most centralized project right now just what the above post said. What's good though is that, it remained on the top for a very long time.

I also did not notice the date and wrote some lines but deleted it thanks to you actually on this thread only new topics appear on top that's why I think most of the member replies here did not notice the date too.
It's good advice to not hold XRP but recent SEC and XRP developments like the case were long but XRP got some leverage by getting a huge reduction in fines now they have to pay. XRP is not a good token to hold due to various other factors and the case with XRP and at the time we have other good projects to invest.

Yes, the post is made four years and as regard the update that XRP have made back then but yet it didn't add any significant value to the project. The project is just down , I even though that since they introduced that new product on their project, it will make the project gain some attention again but it didn't, rather people are just using their own favorite payment gateway.

Yes, the post is made four years and as regard the update that XRP have made back then but yet it didn't add any significant value to the project. The project is just down , I even though that since they introduced that new product on their project, it will make the project gain some attention again but it didn't, rather people are just using their own favorite payment gateway.
Yes, and probably this is the time that Ripple is still very much wanted to be the bankers crypto, and it's no surprised that was their plan after all. And they have face a lot of backlash back then from crypto and still getting backslash today. Anyways, they have accomplished a lot, however, I try to research as to what happen with their product, but I can't find any. Maybe they have scrapped it for good. As it's Github repositories has not been updated in 4 years, Lol.

Not like we are lacking anything like this already ,its not really that interesting. XRP has always been interested in trying to make payments easier, but the reality is that with crypto things are easy enough anyway, so its not really that complicated to use just simple crypto to move even millions from one place to another. It could be on the other side of the world too, I don't care if you are sending it from Germany to japan, or from south Africa to Canada, its going to be easy and you can do it very quickly compared to many other alternatives as well. Its also an investment at the same time, so its great. XRP and these products mean nothing to me, never did.

this topic is not really relevant anymore in my opinion there is no point in sharing opinions of optimism or pessimism because it seems like this project never came into fruition anyway i searched about this and all articles i have seen are from 4 years ago and none in recent 6 months at least i also saw a twitter (X) account of this project created in 2019 but its last post dates 2020 so i do not think this project actually continued to launch

It's not even a legit post either. It's just advertisement to a spam page.
this topic is not really relevant anymore in my opinion there is no point in sharing opinions of optimism or pessimism because it seems like this project never came into fruition anyway i searched about this and all articles i have seen are from 4 years ago and none in recent 6 months at least i also saw a twitter (X) account of this project created in 2019 but its last post dates 2020 so i do not think this project actually continued to launch
See, that's the thing with these sort of projects. They launch, they get big hype, it turns out that nobody is interested in using that as there are better alternatives available, and they die. Or at least get abandoned.
This whole 'Amazon XRP' thing I like to call this was a waste of time for everybody involved.

Undoubtedly, ripple has been quite a rollercoaster ride. Seems their number one objective has been for people to consider them as the number one crypto option for banks but unfortunately for them, this has earned them tons of criticism from the crypto community. Regardless, they’ve succeeded to make some notable strides, because they’ve been able to partner with lots of financial institutions and even the government.

this news has been round since 2020. has the payment system and ecommerce platform rolling out already?
i'm not sure if they could compete the amazon and the payment system to the current one today. people today are still very unaware of crypto existence even when its been discussed in the senate and congress before.
XRP is going up though. investors only care for profit and not really use new payment system.
