For me this is surprising. I thought more people are at home and engage on virtual activities a lot. Therefore, if crypto trading decline then the lockdown should have decreased the activities that's was spiking crypto before the lockdown

It's just that this data is for March, when information about the spread of the coronavirus only appeared and people were not up to trading cryptocurrency. I am sure that since May the number of new traders has increased and has become even more than before March.

The pandemic is really taking toil on things around the world.  But I don't think they totally left crypto, most of them might have their hodlings for long time instead of day trading.
