I recommend the top altcoins in coinmarketcap.
Maybe you can invest in ethereum 'coz it is potential and possible to pump once Eth 2.0 launch. You can also visit the signature wear by members.
Before you invest, take time to read all necessary details as much as you can to identify the project.
Team must be active.
The project must be transparent.
Product is important than mere talks.
The team is consistent and legit.
The community of the project.
Do not forget to check the roadmap and whitepaper.

My opinion is any type of altcoins, we should be hold in 2020.because due to market effected by carona-19. That result we can see all the projects, evan crypto related projects face lot of in problem due to Labour shortage is the main cause. So l think holding of coins will be benifitioal in future.

If you really want to hold the cheap altcoin I recommend you to hold ADA (cardano) - $0.11 today and CEL (celsius) - $0.39 today. Of course I have more coins to recommend, but these two are the cheapest.

Actually crypto market is too much volatile so you can not trust easily to altcoin that you believe on BTC easily. But you can go for hold with your own research by targeting some altcoin like CUR, CTSI, KICK, LSK, MARK etc. But be sure that you are getting updates every time. I think if all news goes well, at the end of the year maximum altcoin will pump and investors will be gainer.
