Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, better known as CZ, closed out the LA Blockchain Summit on Wednesday by talking about DeFi, decentralization, and staying relevant. Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, better known as CZ, extended his DeFi coming-out party at LA Blockchain Summit, telling Reuters’ Anna Irrera, “In the long-term, I think DeFi will replace CeFi.”
And Binance, the world's biggest centralized crypto exchange, is happy to be “cannibalized” by it.
CZ started by discussing which aspects of decentralized finance—the suite of blockchain-based protocols that make it possible to lend, borrow, earn interest, and more without using a financial institution—would stick around long-term.
