Title: What do you think about Coingecko Candy?
Post by: mohdelayo on October 20, 2020, 10:07:09 PM
Top leading cryptocurrency data aggregator Coingecko, has recently introduced what seem to be like a loyalty program, where users are given candies for using the app/website everyday.

Although Coingecko clearly stated it's not a cryptocurrency and it currently have no value but can be redeemed for a real value in time. I see this as an interesting idea that has a huge potential if they stand to be truly decentralized and gain community's trust.

Thank you for the fresh and interesting information.
I think this is one of the ways Coingecko can compete with Coinmarketcap for popularity in the crypto world. Hope this Candy will have some value in the future, maybe when Coingecko decides to share a portion of advertising revenue for a loyal audience.

If you know the source of the information such as an article made officially by them, I think you need to share it here.
Well, people who use the app/website of CoinGecko get candies? I just know it, never heard about it before. If it is true, it is very interesting, people should be attracted to visit CoinGecko. It is a smart idea to make such a loyalty program.

This alleged Coingecko Candy can be likened to loyalty points which a user can redeem in the future according to what the platform can be offering to its holders. I am sure that if the team behind Coingecko can be planning grand things for this thing then this can be very valuable in the future. I for one is quite interested on how to accumulate candies from Coingecko so maybe more information can be needed here. Honestly, I am not so much a big fan of Coingecko as more inclined to use CMC but I am willing to shift just in case. Now, will it mean that soon CMC will also have its own candies or tokens for its users?

In that case crypto enthusiast who always checking in coingecko will have something to earn then in the future possible the candy will have a value. Brilliant trick to get more users coz mostly the people now are working from home. This is the best chance to hook them to coingecko. Pretty sure coingecko popularity will increase.

Coingecko Candy reward is an interesting feature though. I guess this will drive more traffic to the platform and hopefully candy will have a good value in the future. However they need to be clear about certainty of it having a value and with time-frame. I love it

That's my candy in the image above.
Its just a point which one can redeem to NFTs and other give aways on CoinGecko, I don't know if there will be any future plan about those earn point but who knows they might launch their own token like token pocket wallet.
You can use the point to get discounts on some products that are listed on CoinGecko.

I'm using the CoinGecko frequently and I think that the CoinGecko candy is a good promotional tool for its loyal users IMO, it is very attractive if it was convertible into something that has value, But its too early to say what happens next thats why its better to wait for the CoinGecko team to settle that problem, for now, CoinGecko is very useful to me and I have no againts with it wether it has a candy thing or not.

A form of airdrop. But I can say the idea is good just to encourage to keep p in touch with them. Hoping that it will be more valuable in the near future to solidify the community trust.

Loyalty programs are one of the best things that platforms can do to earn loyalty from their users. Hopefully in the future the "candies" offered by Coingecko will have a price, so that with this program the users of the Coingecko platform will increase.

I received these sweets, but I do not understand what kind of use they will have, it is unlikely to be placed on the stock exchanges.

Sometimes kucoin or Houbi global exchanges gives investors, traders candy. I think it a point system of a project.

So what later happened with the candies in this your instance? Where investors/traders able to redeem for any tangible value? Please say more :)

Coingecko Candies are a good way to make people engage with platform more frequently, the problem is that I always forget to claim them, haha)

I do like coingecko more than coinmarketcap, because coingecko shows more accurate info and update info faster, sometimes CMC does not show new listings for month, while the coingecko adds them quite fast.

I like to use coingecko than coinmarketcap because I observe that using coingecko is lighter data than coinmarketcap. When I use coinmarketcap often lagging so need to wait for 10 to 20 seconds I think. My experience using coingecko is lighter and faster although the data of each coin is fewer than coinmarketcap, still choose to use it even I don't collect candies.

Coinmarketcap Currency Exchange and any new currency actually looks listed first but Coingecko is more convenient than Coinmarketcap in terms of exchange not just data collection but transactions are completed very quickly and candies are much better. Helps to determine the correct direction of the currency. I use Coingecko more for the exchange.

It could be huge due to the status of coingecko. The pull coingecko has in the industry is only second to CoinMarketCap which makes it a source of genuine attraction to investors as well as traders. With the coingecko candy, we can potentially see key interest in the asset leading to good value appreciation.

As long as it is official from CoinGecko, I think that the information about the coin or exchange is here, related to the crypto tracker. So far, CoinGecko always gives a good experience with it here. But we never tell that we can see the prospect of the candy of you get it

Through candies users will register in order to earn candies. To be honest, I did not yet sign up maybe later. I will not waste this opportunity while it is free to earn by just regularly checking in. Thanks for this Info

I have no idea !
I do not understand this because Coingecko is good at branding for all cryptocurrencies.
As long as it's good for cryptocurrency then it's certain that CoinGecko is good at developing the cryptocurrency market and traders.

In my opinion, Coingecko is more than candy and follows me Coingecko is a pizza for information from cryptocurrency.

For those of us who are involved with Crypto, I think Coingecko has come up with a great offer for us. This will increase the number of Coingecko users; They will be able to survive in competition with the Coinmarketcap. Hopefully in the future they will also provide a fair price for the candy that they will give to the users as a reward. I wish Coingecko continued success in the future.

It is often seen that coingecoko comes with a lot of good offers. I use Coingecko. I always see new coins in the market. I need to use Coingecko for that. Because there is a list of many coins available. I think all cryptocurrency users around the world are benefiting a lot from Coingecko. Because if you want to know the price of any coin, you are visiting there.

I once claimed candy in the coingecko application. Maybe now it's just like rewards, is there any possibility in the future it will be valuable?

Is this some kind of airdrop or a prize program for CoinGecko users?

Introducing CoinGecko Candy, our brand-spanking-new rewards structure on CoinGecko! Starting today, we will be giving out candies each day.
With CoinGecko we can redeem the candy and also see how rewards will be given and used by CoinGecko users. Moreover, they also offer precious goodies by having this candy. SO, it is actually interesting. Actually, I have an official reading from its website here:

It is an interesting innovation made by CoinGecko. This makes people who use CoinGecko to get more advantage in using CoinGecko. I think this will attract more people to use CoinGecko and may consider leaving Coinmarketcap.

Despite the fact that I have been registered with CoinGecko for quite some time, I only recently drew attention to the possibility of receiving such an award. Thus, the platform encourages its members to visit it more often. In the future, sweets will probably have a more significant value.

I think this candy idea is very good. Hopefully the candy provided by Coingecko has value, so there will be many people who choose Coingecko.
