Post by: Oxumare on November 08, 2020, 12:46:57 PM
Every day we are shaken by new news.Kucoin, Bithumb, BitMex, Okex and now BitMax
BitMax could not serve users for a long time on November 7, and access to the stock exchange was not available. BitMAX's AWS services are said to be disabled. They made a statement that your funds are safe for users. These recent events revealed the importance of storing in crypto money wallets instead of crypto money exchanges.

Note: Okex still has not started the withdraw process

Kucoin already hacked and paused most of the assets withdraw and deposits. We can't trade in Kucoin exchange. When it's maintenance period will finalize. ?

I withdraw 90% of my assets from the Kucoin. But the withdrawal process of my token was open in this exchange. If you have crypocurrency, you can withdraw your money by trading in open tokens.
Deposits and withdrawals of stolen tokens are not performed after the hacking attack. It is not necessary to keep money in this stock market for a long time.Nobody knows when this maintenance period will end ..

Kucoin, Okex, Houbi, bitmax , bithumb and others popular crypto exchange are postponing their trading systems because Kucoin and binance already hacked several months ago but how could this exchange hacked. Their security systems overstong and Private . I am sure team management should adjust with hacked.

I could not reach the page on November 7. I guess I didn't care about updating the site. I had not been able to access the site 1-2 times before, but this time the situation was quite different. Bitmax is an exchange that can rival Binance. They have to be more careful.

I withdrew most of my assets from the kucoin exchange. I only have Plutus Defi tokens left. I don't know if I can have them too? trading is still not open and there is no trade. We can say that Kucoin has lost a great reputation. At the first opportunity, I will withdraw my Plutus Defi tokens and exit the kucoin exchange completely. Actually it has shaken my confidence.

In fact, hacking attacks are valid for all exchanges.I learned yesterday that the Luquid exchange was hacked.I also had an account on this exchange. It is said that customer information may have been stolen as a result of the attack. It was stated that the hacker had access to private information such as e-mail and DNS records on the system.
Exchanges need to keep their systems safe for this hacking attack.

I also have an account on the liquid exchange but I have never invested. I opened an account to sell the awards.
As you said, stock exchanges should protect themselves against these attacks very well.
Even the largest exchange, Binance, had 2 attacks before this, but it never reflected this plight on its customers and made anyone suffer. Thus, it gained more prestige.

I had no investment in the Luqiud stock exchange. But it was an exchange that I used actively 2 years ago.I have KYC on this exchange.
These hacking events will increase as the value of the crypto market increases.
The exchange that takes action and solves the problems of its customers will always be number one.

The hacking incident experienced by the Kucoin exchange shook them very much. More than 2 months have passed since the hacking incident and withdrawal from the stock market
However, they managed to open the process. I don't know when to relax anymore. Maybe someone like CZ could buy this exchange

Why would CZ buy the Kucoin Exchange? The worst part of this hacking thing: bitcoin was $ 19,000 and people couldn't withdraw their money. I guess.

For some reason it feels like my CZ has always had a relationship with the kucoin exchange. I know that the Binance exchange and the Kucoin exchange were established recently. its operation was also similar. They both also issued their own token. Of course I might be wrong.

In 2018, there was a large sell-off of cryptocurrencies. From January to February 2018, the price of bitcoin fell 65 percent. By September 2018, the MVIS CryptoCompare Digital Assets 10 Index had lost 80 percent of its value, making the decline of the cryptocurrency market, in percentage terms, larger than the bursting of the Dot-com bubble in 2002. In November 2018, the total market capitalization for bitcoin fell below $100 billion for the first time since October 2017, and the Bitcoin price fell below $4,000, representing an 80 percent decline from its peak the previous January. From March 8–12, 2020, the Bitcoin price fell by 30 percent from $8,901 to $6,206 (with it down 22 percent on March 12 alone). As of October 2020, Bitcoin was worth approximately $13,200.

What do you think about Binance not providing service for 3 hours yesterday? Although CZ said the funds were safe, they were subjected to massive criticism from both twitter and other social media channels. Those who want to withdraw their funds and leave the Binance exchange,etc..

I dont think that their yesterdays maintenance was something to worry about and express criticism. They have warned about it https://www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/b05b72a7608943b186b981b4cc733e4e. Traders and those who hold funds had times to rearrange their orders and funds. Those who to criticize Binance should learn how to read news...

Users still had access to exchange and could observe their funds. It would be worse if Binance simply crashes and its webpage will be offline.

All those who objected to this were new investors.the spot exchange was not working, but the futures exchange transactions were continuing.
But as far as I observed, the number of people who panicked was very high.If you are not trading on the stock market, you will withdraw your investment to your wallet.

Stop using our Service, do not deposit, do not trade, do not use APIs, Livecoin says.If you have friends, be careful who uses this exchange.
They lost control of their servers ..When you enter the site, there is a warning as seen in the picture below.

Exmo was hacked on December 21st.Hackers attacking the exchange stole 5% of the total amount of cryptocurrencies in Exmo wallets.
Besides Bitcoin, they also stole ETH, XRP, USDT, ZEC, and ETC.
Recently, EXMO CEO even mentioned that most of these coins were laundered at the Poloniex exchange.

We are reaching a point where there is no distinction (at least for me) between security breach and exit scam. I know it's sad to say but the last exchange attacked was Livecoin, another small exchange. I would like to know what is the security budget of the exchanges, from the largest to the smallest, from Binance the number 1 according to Coinmarketcap, to Serum Swap, the last.

The Shanghai office of 58Coin, operating in China, was closed, and last week, police came to the company and detained all employees.
The total number of people detained was 400.
Some stock exchange users also complain that they cannot withdraw their money from the platform.
The interesting part is;
In addition to Shanghai, they also have offices in Xi'an and Beijing. They continue the normal functioning of these offices

Yes no centralized exchange is trustworthy. As by now Binance is working well but nobody can say what will happen next. Decentralized exchanges are only answere for security and privacy. You have full control over your fund. No need to fear.

A few days ago some exchanges step by step hacked , so most of the traders and investors fear about trading or keeping cryptocurrencies in their trading exchange plafrorms. I already lost more than thousands dollars keeping it in Kucoin exchange.

In crypto exchange some are not in top level exchanges they most of the time hacked. Though some top level exchanges get hacked but the solution conveys only high security.
