As many of you are probably aware, the Top 10 altcoins by market cap changes from time to time. Current newcomers this year include Polkadot and Chainlink, but are these the new favorites of crypto investors, or will they follow the path of other Top 10 altcoins by falling lower in the rankings?
Personally, my favorite altcoin remains Ethereum, the no.1 altcoin for good reason in my opinion. My second and third choices would be Chainlink and Polkadot, as I believe they both have a lot of potential, but also still have a lot to prove in order to remain in the Top 10.
For reference, the Top 10 looked like this on the same date in previous years:
2019: Ethereum, XRP, Tether, BCH, Litecoin, Binance Chain, EOS, Bitcoin SV, Stellar, UNUS SED LEO (6 remain)
2018: XRP, Ethereum, BCH, Stellar, EOS, Litecoin, Tether, Cardano, Monero, TRON (6 remain)
2017: Ethereum, XRP, Litecoin, Monero, Ethereum Classic, Dash, Augur, NEM, MaidSafeCoin, Waves (3 remain)
Quite the change compared to a few years ago near the peak of the previous bull market!

For me, the best altcoin is Ethereum. Although, if you take a closer look at this issue, ETH has already surpassed altcoin and completely out of the category, comparing to Bitcoin. Used as some parameters, Ethereum is superior to Bitcoin. Undoubtedly, Ethereum has a problem with scalability and some altcoins are better at this, but bitcoin's transaction speed is an order of magnitude lower than that of Ethereum, and this does not prevent BTC from being the leader of the cryptocurrency market.

Ethereum. I like it since then for it is the only altcoin which can keep the anchor of progress. It is the altcoin which can hold the pressure against the dramatic correction of bitcoin .

I still believe in Vitalik Buterin and his teammates, the upcoming officially-launched ETH 2.0 will give the entire Ethereum community the most reliable answer. I think everything will be fine, and we will have a faster, more decentralized, safer, more environmentally friendly blockchain POS.

In my cryptocurrency sessions, I'm using different coins/tokens for trading transfer payments, etc. thats why technically I have not aware of the rankings, by the way, most of the time I'm using XRP and Ether for different purposes but I'm holding XTZ, ADA, TRX and XRP so for me my top 10 is those I was holding.

Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin, are examples of major coins that are popular with many people,
as a smart investor, I better avoid coins that have low liquidity, the reason is because the lower the liquidity a coin has, the greater the speculation needed to invest there,
as you know, speculation with gambling are two things the same)

Since we are looking for who's best I can say that nothing is the best except ethereum. It has been at the top since then and nothing has changed up until now. Some of the altcoins which were at top 10 are now eliminated but not ethereum.

My top favorite coins are Bitcoin and Ethereum although you haven't added Bitcoin in the list. Hence Ethereum is the top favorite coins to me from the first day of join in cryptocurrency trade and after entering into crypto forum also. I have seen many ups and downs of ethereum in the last five years. I have made huge profits from ethereum because i am Ethereum holder. Ethereum is such a coin that can't be ignored now a days for its widespread use and popularity. We are now waiting for Ethereum 2.0 launch in the next month successfully.

Still ethereum is the best altcoin for me and the second is binance coin, they are perfect investments and surely you can make profit with these two especially ethereum because of upcoming eth 2.0

I think that right now I really like Ethereum, BNB, USDT, and Doge too. I like some of these coins because they have a lot of potential. And it is also very easy to trade with these coins.

Choose Ethereum, of course. Because this coin is the longest and has been proven to be able to survive. Even Ethereum has the nickname the king of smart contracts. Which many projects also use Ethereum.

For me, the most popular altcoin is, of course, Ethereum, because most from the altcoins I invest in Ethereum, and therefore most of all I get profit from altcoins its from Ethereum, and in general, for a long time I like how Ethereum developers develop the capabilities and technologies of Ethereum, only now the only thing I don't like is the too expensive transactions on the Ethereum blockchain.

My 1. favorite for mining is Ethereum. My 2nd favorite Tether provides the opportunity to withdraw from exchanges without paying fees.

i just chose the best at coinmarketcap top 10coins. I always look at that platform always when choosing coins to invest and hold it for a period of time.. but if I chose top 3 to invest it would be TRON / ADA / ETH. I think these coins are.so.promising in the.coming days.

I remembered during the time of the bull runway back in 2017 there are many altcoins spike their price value in the market where We didn't expect to happen. And by the time ETH reached the highest price of 1000$ almost each, then XRP reached 2$ something, NEM/XEM became 1$ each almost, and more something like that. And for now, my top 10 are ETH, NEM, Link, Dot,
Xrp, BnB, BUSD, Lend, UTK, Nexo and Dgb.

Yes, Ethereum is the best altcoin to me. People prefer to invest on ether after bitcoin. Now the largest number of investment are being made on ethereum. At present, Ethereum is the most popular altcoin in the crypto world. Ether is always my first choice to invest.

From the list of coins in the top 10 rankings, Ethereum I think is the best coin and has the price of high rising prices next year. Ethereum has a pretty good history in the past, at the time of Bitcoin's price reach Ath Ethereum price successfully rise high. And I believe it will be repeated again next year.

Ethereum still becomes the most favorite altcoins whatever happens. Although it ever had a very bad time during the bear market by having very much decreased, this coin really can prove that it is a worthy coin. ETH is now on uptrend again and the increase is very significant. Although there is Polkadot that is considered as a big competitor of ETH, I am not sure it can pass it as what considered previously as TRX, NEO, and also EOS.

For now, XRP is my favorite top 10 altcoins besides Ethereum. XRP has a great day, the price already increased very well. I think for the early bullish, XRP has shown its potential to the investors very well. Even if it is not the first rank in CMC but yesterday among the top 10 altcoins, XRP has the best performance.

My best altcoin is always Ethreum, no others. It is clear why Ethereum is the number 1 of altcoins, there are no other altcoins that has the quality and popularity like Ethereum. For me, Ethereum is irreplaceable, it seems to be always the king of altcoins.

Sometimes I wonder whether Ethereum is the most popular simply because it's the no.1 altcoin by market cap. However seeing Ethereum 2.0 now has enough deposits and will be launched within a week, I've started to remember that it's the "king altcoin" (nice term) for a good reason.
Can't wait for the gas fees to lower at least, that's for sure!

Polkadots and chainlink are the exchange of those where part of the list but still these could not disarm the possibility that they might just belong in a while but not foe the long run. Competition in the market is high ang this might create something shaking truth from them who challenge the position.

its not easy to decide. You can understand why i say that by seeing current market. All the crypto project shows massive growth. They are racing to be the top. But i still have a list of current project and they are as follows: ocean, dia, crv, tomo,utk, sxp, vidt and some i can not remember right now. I think all those project has the ability to give high return of investment.

Thanks sir for expressing your opinions but Bitcoin is the best online virtual cryptocurrency. Besides Bitcoin all others cryptocurrencies generally known as " altcoins". Here Dragononcrupto says top 10 altcoins.

Ethereum still with 90% of the votes I see. If I had given options for a few different coins then I imagine it'd look very different. But also this is what I wanted to see/know, if users had to pick one altcoin in the Top 10 which would it be? Unsurprisingly, it's the no.1 altcoin, hence it's no.1 I guess!

Ethereum is the King of Altcoin. Still 90% votes for Ethereum box which proves that why Ethereum is so popular not only to me but also to the maximum crypto lovers. We can't now do without Ethereum or ERC20 tokens just for a single day. This is another reason of popularity for Ethereum and also it has the most marketcap also. My top 5 altcoins are- ETH, TRX, ADA, XLM and BNB.

Actually, I also like LINK and DOT but my number 1 choice is ETH. I believe according to my futuristic vision😀 ETH, LINK, and DOT will help to form the world dynamically. Someday the trend could be according to their platform which looks realistic to me because the world of cryptocurrency and the actual world are getting closer to each other. How? Technology is the highest demand and virtual digital transactions are blooming.
