Title: How long will my 4.1 gwei transaction take to confirm?
Post by: dragonvslinux on December 04, 2020, 01:32:06 PM
For reference sake, my 4.1 gwei transaction (https://etherscan.io/tx/0xa1256a5d331da61f27fcf36cb3fc5981ae96f93cd3f96c22ae491712806917c7) (for ALTS @ 0.0002 ETH (https://forkdelta.app/#!/trade/ALTS-ETH)) has now been in the EtherDelta/ForkDelta mempool for 12 days already  ::)

Based on the gas station (https://ethgasstation.info/), the standard cost is 42 gwei as of writing (though varies between 20 and 60 in recent weeks) while 96% of transactions that confirm are >20 gwei.

For a bit more information: there are otherwise currently 775 pending transactions in the ED/FD mempool alone, with the oldest being from November 15th (10 gwei) followed by November 22nd with 4 gwei (19 and 12 days ago respectively). Most of the pending transactions in the mempool appear to be with 4 gwei.

There remains 150,000+ pending transaction in the Ethereum's mempool (https://etherscan.io/chart/pendingtx) at present.

Wow, with such a commission, transactions may not go through at all, in the Metamask there is a function to accelerate the transaction, it helped me more than once to speed up my transactions

Brother, you may have discussed an important topic.  But I am a new member of this forum so I do not understand your issues well.  I hope you reply to me in detail.

I imagine it will eventually, at least the others on FD/ED did it seems, it will just keep being re-broadcasted until it does as far as I understand. I can't find a "proper" mempool chart that shows the transactions clearing per gwei, only the etherscan chart that tells me how many transactions there are in total.

I know there's the option to speed it up in Metamask, because I used it to slow it down  :P
It's only a small purchase so I join the 4 gwei high gas prices strike  8)

For now, the high gas price is 55 Gwei and it is confirmed for about 30 seconds, for the gas price it is at 39 Gwei and it is confirmed for 1 minute.  And for the low gas price is 19 Gwei and it is confirmed for 15 minutes.  For your delivery gas which is only 4 gwei ,, Maybe it will not be delivered in the near future .. Or even your token will not arrive, because the price of Gas is always increasing!

As you know, Gas fees are very high in the ETH blockchain, and any people are more paying gas fees than normal fees, so you should select high gas fees or medium, and then your transaction will confirm if you will select as per your gwei, then this will not confirmed and will be pending.

I never transaction with a lower gwei but I am asure that Token transfer within a lower gas fees (4.1gwei) it may be cancelled or dropped out transactions.

I also consider that too low my friend, And seeing the very high Gas price, maybe the transaction will not be confirmed.

Scroll up folks, you all didn't read what I said. I slowed the transaction ON PURPOSE. Read first comment later next time please. I'm not looking for help, this is a gas fees speculation thread.

I have repeatedly adjusted gas fees to the lowest possible to transact on ETH. Sometimes I have to wait longer but my partner, he also agreed, always accept to wait until the translation is completed. But sometimes the gas fee is too low, making the transaction unsuccessful. I hope ETH 2.0 will definitely solve gas in the near future

That's right, I agree with you.  Many people think that the gas fee will be reduced a lot after the launch of Ethereum 2.0 or after lunch.  But at present the gas fee has not been reduced yet.  Gas fees are expected to be reduced in the next few days.  Sometimes the gas fee is reduced so that it takes 15 to 20 minutes to send. Ethereum 2.0 will solve these problems.

GAS fees are currently very high. I always set my gas fee to 19 for the fastest transaction but sometimes I have to wait for hours for my transaction to be processed. I don't know when Ethereum will overcome this drawback when ETH2.0 has been updated but the GAS fee is too high.

Currently, Gas fees are the biggest hurdle for Ethereum at the moment I think If Ethereum solves the gas fee problem will help users feel comfortable and invest more strongly in a good market like Ethereum.

Many of us are hoping that Ethereum 2.0 will eventually be answering a big part of this problem, that is if it can not totally eliminate the clogging of the network. This is a big pain to all Ethereum users and can be a big inconvenient to be paying more than normal gas fees especially when there are a volume of transactions still left unattended. There must be solutions for this problem, otherwise this is going to be an insult to the blockchain technology and to developers of Ethereum itself.

17 days and counting now. Nearing the final pages of ED contract mempool. I voted for second option. I got faith, kind. Otherwise will just rebroadcast again I guess.

Me too. I can discern it is coming. Wait, wait, wait patiently.

Maybe. It's on page 13 of 16 of ED mempool now. Will probably just need to broadcast again in a few days once it fails...

We have to wait at least 6-8 months for complete Phase 2. Now only started phase 1 (beacon chain). After launch Shard chains, we can hope the reduction of gas fee. It is a longer process, not a task of single day to complete. But if you compare from the last 3 months, now gas fee is 3x-5x less but it is not enough still.
