As we all know Bitcoin broke above $20K to make a new all time high, even going as far as nearly $23,750 (so far).
Is this another opportunity to divest into altcoins? Will Bitcoin continue to outperform altcoins or are alts about to shine again?

Personally I think there's a good chance alts are going to see bounce back before the end of the year :)

Against the background of bitcoin, altcoins now seem to be weak, but then, after fixing the profit on bitcoins, investors will turn their attention to altcoins and a bull run will begin. History always repeats itself so why not start the rally this year or early next year.

As I recall, in 2017 the Altcoin price increase was almost the same as the Bitcoin price when Bitcoin reached ATH that year. But for now that's not the case, Bitcoin has gone up a lot but Altcoins are still calm.
But there is nothing wrong if we try to invest in Altcoins, who knows the price of Altcoins will also reach a new ATH. But my advice, still choose Altcoins that are in the top ranks that have reached high ATH in 2017. And I recommend choosing Ethereum and BCH.

I understand, I also think this is more than possible, even go lower to 20. For now the support has held for over a year, so I think it can continue holding.
Let's see... personally I'm also waiting for the week to end before making any moves.

This I agree with, too much invested in small cap coins and quickly get your rekt. The blue chip altcoins are better.

Altcoins are definitely going to bounce but I don't think its going to happen this year, the year is almost over with just few days left to cross over, lets just say that even if altcoins are going to move, it will have to be next year probably,
But on the other hand, I have this feeling that altcoins aren't really going to make any significant movement like it did in 2017/2018 cus that's what everyone is expecting, people are expecting altcoins to move rapidly like bitcoin did but I have this feeling that the opposite will be the case, though this is not what I pray for.

In any case, altcoins are still very far behind the rate of growth in prices for bitcoin. Even Ethereum lags behind bitcoin, given the ratio of rates in 2017. I believe that this gap will narrow in the near future, or at least early in 2021. Therefore, altcoin should not be ignored by investors.

i have always said it that there is a UNIQUE flow of money in this cryptocurrency of a thing. the first batch of inflow comes from bitcoin. once there is an increase in BTC PRICE, the next flow moves down to the top cryptocurrency in the list(XRP, BCH, LTC and the rest) after which it flows down to the rest midcap altcoins. first into DEFI and then down to new projects before going out or back to btc.

I still stick with altcoins and don't want to invest in bitcoin yet, because I think bitcoin prices tend to be unstable and drop easily, in contrast to popular altcoins like BCH or ETH which are less volatile. I still believe in altcoin season, but not this year, but next year.

I do not think that this year, we will see some movement in altcoins. Most likely, this year will remain purely for bitcoin. Well, next year may well surprise us. Maybe it will be the year of the violas.

Definitely we are going to have a another Altcoins rally but not all these Altcoins would rally again especially those 2017/2018 projects, that have no funds again for development, If I were you I will be looking into these projects treasury before investing in them, if it pump, it is just a pure Pump and dump

Yeah on next year each and every one of them will be in at its ATH like we saw it previously on 2017-2018. So next correction will be the last chance to take entry on it.

I'm holding several alts on my wallet and I too waiting for the bull run to happen. The current surge of BTC doesn't force alts to move along upward. I guess, the numbers of alternatives coins in the crypto world has a big impact for not surging the price. The large volume of funds is widely filling up the crypto space for alts coins and could not push the price up.

In my opinion, the altcoins season will take place in 2021 and is led by three major platforms: Ethereum, Cardano & TRON. They are 3 blockchain platforms that have big growth in 2020, have a large community and will make a difference for DeFi projects in 2021: cheaper costs, safer smart contracts, high transaction speed... I mean the whole DeFi market and not just DeFi projects based on liquidity pool.

Bitcoin price is increasing and altcoins also increasing but not enough according to bitcoin. I believe that altcoins have much potentiality which can overcome bitcoin any time. Already we know that yfi price 3x then bitcoin price. I think in future it altcoins will make important role on crypto market.

I don't know it's hard to predict the movement of the market but I think it has a chance that the alt season will coming in January because this is the same happened in 2017 to 2018 bitcoin pumping in December then in the January the altcoins were surging. Chances the history will repeat.

It seems that many, like me, are confident that the altcoin season will not begin until next year. I now buy and accumulate various promising altcoins and will wait for the full altcoin season to start in order to sell them and make a profit

Cool, I am very glad that Bitcoin broke through the price of $ 20,000 :) , I have been waiting for this for two years, next year I plan to see a new rally in alts and new maximum prices for many coins

For the whole of 2020, altcoins have also grown very well in price and it was possible to make money on it, and so I think that 2021 will be even better for altcoins than 2020, so I have big plans for altcoins for 2021 and therefore I invested this month into many exciting new projects.

This year is almost the end and BTC is still surging. To trigger the alts rally we need BTC to be stable after making a record high. BTC already makes a record high but still, I think it's not enough to trigger the alts rally. I think to trigger the alts rally BTC should be above 25k and stable. I think we will see that in Q1 of 2021.

The market is still on the up position for bitcoin .It is keep moving up and where its going i cant think right now .The chance for alt if btc stable at this price then we can see altseason .So that we are just waiting for the season i also have voted for it . 8) 8)

As I review, in 2017 the Altcoin cost increment was nearly equivalent to the Bitcoin cost when Bitcoin arrived at ATH that year. However, for the present that is not the situation, Bitcoin has gone up a ton yet Altcoins are as yet quiet.

Well, admittedly it's starting to look like there won't be an altseason until next year unless things turn around this week. Bitcoin dominance is nearly back at 70% now so has the potential to go even higher. I'll still continue buying up altcoins while they are cheap, but prices may come down further now it seems.

Still hope for Altcoins because with Altcoins I can make a lot of profit.
Altcoins like Ethereum and USDT can be traded on Binance Future and that is something very unique.
I still hope that the Rally for Altcoins will happen again because I miss the profit from every trade.

Another altcoin rally? I doubt we gonna have that, cause from the look of things the present bull run is just about bitcoin and Ethereum the rest altcoins are just bleeding badly, as of yesterday it was bloody cause almost all altcoins went down - 20%+,with that said i don't think we are going to have an altcoin rally this year or next :'(.

History repeats itself all the time. I think that is going to happen soon in cryptocurrency as well. In the case of Bitcoin, it has already happened like in 2017 and it looks like it will happen in the case of altcoins till next year i.e. 2021. That's why I've invested in several altcoins.

This bull run is only for Bitcoin, as I said in another thread that talked about Ethereum, when Bitcoin starts to go down (a correction is normal) the alts will likely increase as many investors will want to diversify their funds.

Yes, been bitcoin has actually experienced a full bull run since the last 3weeks, unfortunately altcoins has not responded to the best of my knowledge in the last 3weeks too.
We are yet to see altcoins pump or bull run, probably altcoins season may place take in early 2021. I am waiting to see the altcoin that will beats it's 2017 all time high.

That will happen if the dominant bitcoin is below 50, unfortunately the dominant bitcoin is still up and now it reaches 69, the tough challenge for the dominant bitcoin has to break the 62 support area before dropping to the 50 area.
And if it works, the altcoins will go to the moon.

Now bitcoin dominance over 68 percentages and Ethereum dominance more than 10 percentage. I think bitcoin dominance below 50 percentage impossible.

That might happen, but not anytime soon, because when the bull market is at its peak the dominance of bitcoin must be below 50 for the altcoins to go to the moon too,

You can see, the last time bitcoin dominance touched below 50, it was at the peak of the bull market late 2017.
So it is possible that this will happen again to bitcoin.

I think a time has come altcoins need to wakeup since 2017 down to 2020 bitcoin has been outperforming altcoins market and its not been good to the crypto market just to see only bitcoin bull run without the altcoins market rising too but let's hope that the game is going to change in the coming year 2021 hopefully.

Bitcoin breaks all ATH record yesterday. Ethereum is now about to touch $700 but other altcoins are still under valued. Only Bitcoin dominance in increasing till now but i personally believe after bitcoin price some extent stable, altcoins will start growing. Hopefull the new year can be the blessing of altcoins.

Bitcoin will create another and very significant new ATH in the next year and I believe that if I look at the first and second halving where the% difference is quite high.
due to the fast movement both up and down of bitcoin, altcoin was unable to keep up with that movement.
I agree that there will be a lot of new ATH growing for altcoins next year.
