Title: Buying Stuff with Cryptocurrencies
Post by: fallenangel1789 on January 16, 2021, 11:53:12 PM
With over a million products for sale, all available in bitcoin and prime altcoins. Many companies are accepting them as a legitimate source of funds. I still think HODL is better than using cryptocurrencies although there is a wide usage of them. I hope you will share your experience and knowledge here. What have you bought with cryptocurrencies?

So far, I really prefer to use Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for investment or trading, not as a payment method. because we know that crypto is still not legal for transactions. I am only worried about the punishment if using crypto for transaction

A currency can not be called as such if people are not using it for buying and selling or in other words in general commerce transactions and this is where existing fiat monies are being utilized anywhere. Now, with respect to cryptocurrency most especially Bitcoin, Ethereum and the rest of the gangs, people are not easily spending them despite many firms or establishments that are open to accepting such? Why? Of course, we know the answer. We are speculating, so we are holding them thinking that the value or price will keep on charging up. We all want outlandish returns, and we are seeing holding cryptos as the best way to have the increase of assets that we want.

Now, the next question is this: Will it affect BTC or Eth if people are not spending them and instead just holding them in their wallets? Well, nobody can answer that question really clear. Anyway, the most important thing is that we are participating somehow with the boom of cryptocurrency right now.

At the moment, I just keep the cryptocurrency in my wallet. And I'm waiting for when I can buy an apartment or a car for crypto. You just need a suitable store for this. I haven't found one yet.

I keep my crypto on the exchange of one of my countries, I use it if I need and I continue to trade if it is not needed, investing in crypto is very profitable for me

Using crypto in Vietnam is still illegal so we cannot buy anything with BTC or ETH. In the past there was a university that accepted BTC payments but was fined.
However, I still hope that we will soon be able to use crypto in ecosystems such as health, education, and energy to enjoy all the value of blockchain technology.

Buying stuff via crypto is now almost common and you can see a lot of platforms especially E-Commerce platforms like Amazon etc are now accepting crypto as a payment system.

It's not bad if you use cryptocurrency to buy something because crypto is a digital money but I do not recommend to use bitcoin or ethereum as a payment method because the transaction fee so high, it is not good  :(. XRP and DOGE were recommendable for payment method because their transaction fees were very low, I hope many stores will accept XRP and DOGE.

Actually where cryptocurrencies are accepted legally and valid , then all products and services are bought but where cryptocurrencies are not permitted them buying products with cryptocurrencies are impossible. I am member of such countries where cryptocurrencies are fully illegal.

This is very good that more people are now willing to accept Crypto for payment, I read about a lawyer also last week that has started accepting BTC for his legal fees. For me with the growth potential of Crypto especially Bitcoin, I will not spend or use my Crypto to buy stuff but Fiat currencies

For sure companies, businesses and organization are now accepting bitcoin transaction, but for me I prefer Investing and holding my bitcoin because bitcoin values keep increasing so spending it will be at my own loose, it's better for me to keep my bitcoin hold till price increases then I sell and buy again when the price goes down.

For me I haven't bought anything yet with bitcoin or altcoins I prefer holding my bitcoin using it as investment because I think I will make much profit from it but if I use it buying goods it's at my own lost because bitcoin might rise anytime and that quantity of bitcoin I gave out would have also rise too.

One of the main goal of cryptocurrency back then was to enable users to be able to perform seemless transactions without the help of any middle man which is the bank, so it's not wrong if any crypto currency or altcoin is been used to pay for goods or items in a store, holding is not always to best thing to do with your crypto, and personally I have used bitcoin to purchase airtime online multiple times.

Guys, frankly speaking, I have no desire today to spend ethereum and Bitcoin for the purchase of any goods. The fact is that these coins will be valued after a certain time much higher and the profitability of their use as a means of payment today is minimal.

I just made transactions with crypto when buying a game item from a foreigner, yes, you can say that it was my first purchase using ETH. indeed transacted faster using crypto and the costs were lower (at that time). If you are afraid of fraud, you can use an escrow service.

I am not afraid of fraud of course. Just using fiat money is easier and I think the worth of my portfolio will increase in the near future so I do not want to spend my cryptocurrencies now.

Because there are many different regulations in each country, I prefer to hold coins for investment and can't make payment transactions using crypto, financial services and online shopping sites in some countries may accept Bitcoin and altcoin payments, but I can't because the laws of my country do not allow this system.
I wish I could use crypto for payments because it is easy and has lower fees than banking systems.

Similar to some of your friends' comments above, because in our country we haven't legalized the use of Cryptocurrency for buying and selling or as a means of payment, so I only use Cryptocurrency as a tool to get a lot of FIAT money. I use Cryptocurrency for investing and trading, and I exchange it for FIAT if I want to shop.

I still didn't buy anything with a cryptocurrency. I use crypto for digital investments, I buy crypto coins to hold and to sell at certain prices. I still have no idea to buy stuff with cryptocurrency. I think cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum better to hold and sell when the prices are rising up.

Actually, I never bought anything using cryptocurrency. This is not legal here as a payment method. ANd so far,  do not need to use it by crypto because I never spend our funds to buy something from other outsides. So, what is the thing that we is doing next?

That's right, it all depends on your decision. I only share my experience in purchasing using crypto. Indeed, if you look at the current state of the market, it would be nice to focus more on trading between crypto coins.

I think there is no country in the world that openly allows accepting payments in bitcoin. After all, this is primarily a tax evasion, since it is not clear how the profit of the business would be estimated.

In the country I live in, Bitcoin cannot be traded because Bitcoin does not get a license to trade for real goods.
But if Bitcoin trading is only circulated in the cryptocurrency market and when Bitcoin is going to be debited to real things, it has to go through the exchange first and change to Fiat.
This is the policy of the government in my country and living and all of its people must submit to the government because our country is a Republic.

It seems to me that soon many countries will begin to accept and accept cryptocurrency, and then it will already be possible to use Bitcoin as payment for goods.

Bitcoin’s volatile value has soared since Autumn last year as investors opted for inflation-proofing assets, more established investment houses took a Bitcoin holding and a growing number of sites moved to accept Bitcoin as a form of payment.

If I use it directly for payment, I don't think I have done it. I only use Bitcoin and crypto as an investment tool. I sell and then use the investment proceeds to buy something.

I read all the comments left on this thread and only one @Max Way wrote that he made one of his first purchases, paying with ethereum. All others have written bluntly that they have never bought goods with cryptocurrency or have avoided a direct answer. I have, of course, also never bought another product for cryptocurrency. I don't see much sense, and there are not many outlets where you can buy something for cryptocurrency. Therefore, we can say that cryptocurrency is now more used as a store of value, as a speculative asset than a means of payment. I don't even know if the situation will change in this regard over time.

In my country, there is a ban on paying with cryptocurrency, so in any case, you will have to exchange cryptocurrency for dollars. Perhaps in the next few years I will not be able to buy anything with cryptocurrency in my country due to stupid laws.

Yes, thats true . Crypto currency just for my investment not for payment method. Bitcoin and altcoins are still not legal in my country. Maybe at the coming future when crypto currency is legal, we could use for payment method.

I don't think BCT is worth of using it as a currency to buy products. Because the price of BTC is very volatile and change within a moment. Also as price is increasing the transaction fee is also increasing
But we can use stable coins for buy sell.

Today Bitcoin is a speculative asset and does not have the stability to be used as a means of payment. But I'm sure that in a few years, capitalization will increase at a rapid pace, and this will make Bitcoin less volatile and more stable. This is when Bitcoin will be a reliable means of payment.

For me, holding cryptocurrencies is way better than use it for buying things. Cryptocurrenices should be use for trading as they are growing day by day which lead you to more money.but whenever you use it for your expenses, the buyers will be benefited through holding
Further, those countries where Cryptocurrencies are banned by the Government, buying anything with it will be unimaginable matter

Crypto is legal in buying many things but it limited to certain countries at the present time however, I think that using bitcoin to pay for goods and services will increase as adoptions continues in near future. As a matter of fact, Tesla has announced that member of the public can purchased it's car using bitcoin. This is one of the example. Thanks

With 1 Bitcoin you will get 1 sports car, I will think long before doing that, the Bitcoin price will continue to increase, I believe it can reach $100k before the halving happens, but for investors who have a lot of money, they can do whatever they want.
I prefer to use stablecoins to buy goods or something else on the marketplace

To be honest I prefer buying stuff with fiat than crypto. I prefer hodling my crypto cos they appreciate better than my local currency and tend to be profitable staying with me. Only time I use it if it is depreciating
