There is now nos topping for central banks to take advantage of the possible and available technologies for the development of a globally accepted CBDC. With the support of many other central banks all over the world, this can be possible within some more few years. However, even if they can be using the blockchain technology, we have to remember that CBDCs are not decentralized but state-controlled. They are just making advantage of the blockchain technology and suit it according to their needs. This is a big validation of the blockchain technology but never of cryptocurrency, actually.

In the next few years, most states will issue their national digitized central bank currencies, that is, their stablecoins. In general, this should play a positive role for the circulation of the currency of states, since the digitized currencies of central banks will be much faster, easier to use and cheaper to maintain.
There is no single opinion on how this will affect the popularity of cryptocurrency. Soon we will see the circulation of the Chinese digitalized yuan, then it will be possible to draw the first conclusions.
