Title: Don't Listen To Opinions of Ordinary Guys in Cryptocurrency
Post by: TomPluz on March 02, 2021, 08:28:01 AM

I just made a mistake of listening to the opinions of ordinary guys like you and me and this is now costing me money. I converted my holdings to USDT thinking that the dip can go deeper. Alas, the day after I saw that the market made a strong recovery, and it is now back to its former prices. This is clearly a big definition of "weak hands" and I am suffering the consequences of making a wrong choice.

A big lesson that we should be learning here in the world of cryptocurrency...better listen to people that has consistent records of spewing out good advices and not people who are just expressing their own baseless opinions.

Everyone has their own vision of the situation on the crypto market and their own technical or fundamental analysis, so we can see a lot of different opinions.  As a rule, most people make mistakes on short-term forecasts. In your case, the exit to USDT is a good option, now you can safely watch the market and look for a profitable new entry point.

This is clearly a big definition of "weak hands" and I am suffering the consequences of making a wrong choice.

This is not just only as problem of week hands also maybe confidence cos this happened to my on BNB trade yesterday. I sold my BNB HODLings at the circled point yesterday thinking that the price will continue to dip since I was going to bed but to later get up late in the night to discover that it reversed and went way higher as seen here.

It is about how much risk you are willing to take because if i have taken that risk yesterday, i would have won big when I got up before it came back down. This will happen once in a while cos we cant catch it all i guess and lucky you sold to USDT  :D and so did I, so now we have to re-strategize

They said experience is the best teacher, is actually good to take crypto and investment advice from people who are already have knowledge in cryptocurrency market not people who have no knowledge about crypto investment or trading, but some times is also good to advice yourselves before going into any crypto buying or investment.

Everyone should decide by himself what to do with his investments in the cryptocurrency sphere and of course you shouldn't listen to anyone, because you may be advised to something incomprehensible and therefore always decide by yourself when to buy cryptocurrencies or when to sell them and of course watch the cryptocurrency market and study it by yourself to know how the cryptocurrency market works.

Don't listen to any opinion at all; instead, you should compare peoples suggestion with your own line of thoughts and see if you are in the same wave lenght with the supposed individual; if not; you can forge ahead; or perhaps learn and take in some tips too; nobody is an island of knowledge. and in crypto currency; you learn daily

I like to hear the opinions of others, but I will never do what others say, that is the worst thing to do when we talk about trading or our money. We always have to make our own decisions, so only we will be responsible for our gains or losses, and if we have to blame someone, we will only be ourselves.

Listening to Advises are usually not a bad thing but we ought to have our own opinion in mind so that when you seek some ones advise, you are able to compare with what thoughts you already have in your head to see if you are on the right track however, we can still make one or two mistake by thinking, yes this advise is good to take and you take it but ends up wrong.
All the same, good thing is you have you assets in USDT and not in some coins that also lost value.

You need to listen to the opinions of other people, it never hurts. However, you always need to form your own opinion and be responsible for making your own decisions. We will always make mistakes when working with cryptocurrency, no matter who we listen to and no matter what decisions we make. You just need to take it more lightly and move on. Even if we or others have a lot of experience, mistakes will be inevitable, because the cryptocurrency market is largely unpredictable.

If you really want to learn in earnest then it's best not to come from unclear sources, let alone just an opinion. This is a big mistake, learn preferably from the official website, or from real experts.

The situation of the crypto market is very difficult to predict.
I will not sell the coins I bought for USD and then convert them back into USD.

As an investor, everyone will risk such a big loss, but when the market is experiencing a correction, I will look for some accurate information, why the market can go down.

In fact, the crypto market has gone down because new investors are having a little panic, no negative news about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, which is why I am still holding onto some of my coins last week until now.

Paper-hand :)
In the Trading section, there are many mixed opinions about the market situation as well as the future token prices, you should have your own assessment and judgment before acting on your crypto assets. I think every advice has its own merits, but they are not investment advice!
If you think the correction is over, now is not too late to buy tokens.

Listening to others has never been a problem for me, it can be interesting. But it has always been my opinion and my way of acting that has made me win or lose. Everything that is being talked about in this thread we could ask those who bought Doge when Elon Musk started talking on Twitter.

DYOR always matters.

FOMO must be avoided even at the times like fulfilling to our bones. Intuition is fluctuations. Hehe

Facts must not disregarded every time in crypto space.
Opinion is good but without the fact it is like an airdrops not guarantee as reliable.

I think it was more of a fifty-fifty chance here because there was the possible that the market would go dipper or go back up, I understand your point of taking under people's opinion seriously, (ordinary guys) but you know even the Crypto Analyst can also give a wrong information,
The truth is, nobody can tell exactly what will happen in the market, everyone is just guessing.

I have stop listening to anyone and do what my guts tells me to do,  there are many of such people in telegram who are claiming to read and understand the chart whereas they understand nothing or they are just a troll.

Man, honestly, this is a decision you made your self and now you want to start blaming other people for your own decision that turned mistake, people should learn to make their own research other than just going about the internet looking for other peoples opinion where as if those set of peoples opinion which they decided to follow turns against their favour, they turn and start blaming that set of people for their own mistake.
Let me ask a question, assuming those people you listened to were right about about the market going down, would you be here telling us not to listen to ordinary guys opinion concerning the crypto market ? of course its never advisable to go with other peoples opinion whether they be ordinary guys or not(which i believe no body is ordinary) ....better learn to do your own research.

Everyone will give advice according to their ability and experience.
technically for traders, the coin price can be seen from the daily even weekly candlestic movements and they will provide technical analysis opinions.
However, when FOMO has entered everyone's mind, the technical analyst will not apply because the coin price will suddenly skyrocket and you will benefit if you hold the coin.

Of course you are right that you don't need to listen to just anyone. But what kind of losses can you talk about ???
What you did is called take profit / loss and this should be done at any moment of the market movement. Another thing is that in each individual situation it is worth fixing a different percentage.

@batishta10 hearing what the YouTube experts (or anyone else) are saying is not a problem. The problem comes when that expert makes a mistake, you cannot blame him for anything because the last decision has been made by yourself. I repeat, listen to everyone, only I decide.

The first thing is one should not be panic while the market drops even you must know the market makes corrections from time to time so you should believe in your holdings. The market is still good and we can not say it's bearish. You are right we should not listen to others opinions and if you take others' opinions listen them but take your own decision.

The fact is that most cryptocurrency users start to panic because of those people who spread various chatter and who themselves do not understand what they say and how their words affect others. In this case, the personal safety of funds depends primarily on the availability of their own knowledge.

There wasn't such a big change at all that you could lose so much money. Unless you're a whale, which I don't really like to believe.
In addition, you didn't do it badly, you still have your tether and can hit it again if you believe in your coin.

What I can't understand, however, is the fact that you wanted to start a project 2 weeks ago, so you wanted to choose the right coins for long-term, but suddenly you sell them? In my opinion, this is not the right strategy, but in the end you have to make decisions yourself. You learn as long as you live, and you will do it right I guess. Just don't invest the money you need to live, and you won't regret investing in crypto.

But don't forget Bitcoin  ;)

If we are in the crypto world, just use the other opinions, analysis, and also predictions as part of our considerations, not the final decision to take. Actually, we also need their words, but for consideration. The whole and final decision is absolutely ours, not deciding it under panic or emotional condition

Really sorry to hear about that. I think when it comes to your own financial affairs, you can only trust yourself, especially in the trading game (probably heard that one a million times, but worth mentioning again). Each trader has their own strategies, own methods, ideas and vision is going to be different to others. Don't trust, or put another persons advice into action, remain cautious

Accepting that advice means you also accepted the terms and conditions that follows. Everyone in the crypto space has their own form of forecasting the market, short term or long term, and this same advice was the same I was thinking to do, but when I observed the price got some stand at the $43k - $44k, I had to hold my decision back to see what's next. In this kind of situation, a full time dedication to watching the market will be of great importance and help, to put you at the safe side. Good news is USDT is not affected in price, the way you placed it there is the way you take it back.

Well, you didn’t tell us about the worst scenario. And how do you like that option, what if you listened and bought, and the price went down sharply? No one is guaranteed to tell you what will happen next. So you have a good position, wait for the next moment for a successful purchase, and do not listen to anyone, so as not to regret it later.

I used to need some info from the telegram channel, and info from the coin community which was good to get in. Yes, it may take a few days for the coin to rise, I don't even really believe in my own predictions. Buying coins 10% of the capital is the first, if tomorrow goes down I will buy 20% and will continue to add up until all the prices I buy get a profit even though only 5% is enough for me.

The fact that you sold, and the price went up, it means that you did not lose, and did not make a profit. Here I was in 2017 buying bitcoin for 20,000 and imagine how long I had to wait for it to return to its peaks again? And what I had to go through when I saw it for $ 4,000.

I disagree. I don't think listening to people is the problem but not been able to do a comparison between what you have gathered from especially Expert in the trade and what you know, if any investor is able to do this, you can easily navigate the market having access to different views but when you take an advise hook line and sinker without your own idea, that spells doom.

But you do need this factor and you have to be able to fully understand the situation around us regarding cryptocurrency. I also assume that USDT is more valuable than junk coins because USDT has a stable value.
And the USDT can also be used to buy more coins when the price is below and that is a good opportunity. Better to be grateful to get 1 USD profit than to lose 100 USD. LOL

There is always a risk when we invest in crypto, there is no harm in taking some information from friends and even advice from group members on telegrams or forums, everyone will have many views about the coins you are going to buy, good advice is to buy Bitcoin, everyone know that, we are always afraid of making decisions because market conditions are always changing, this is something to be aware of, it is not easy to choose a new project or coin to invest in, so do your own research or ask the experts if you would invest the money you have to invest in long-term.

I think You should listen your own mind, don't listen another. Because Investing in crypto we must have confidential,  analysis and feeling. We must learn the chart, character of coin, the team and the project

Exactly as I probably most have also mentioned. Listening to advise is not the bad idea but the ability for you to harmonize that advice and use it the way it should be used. Lost of time, investors have taken advise and ran with it and made grate gains and also made grate loss so the reason you have to truly analyze every advise that is put out for you to know if it is worth running with or not.

I like to hear the opinions of others, but I will never do what others say, that is the worst thing to do when we talk about trading or our money. We always have to make our own decisions, so only we will be responsible for our gains or losses, and if we have to blame someone, we will only be ourselves.
Every time I have invested with advice from outside friends, I have lost money. From then on, I listened to the advice of friends and acquaintances who were involved in crypto, but I chose tokens with my judgment and conscience. There is no regret even if you lose by investing in your own merits.

I learned a lesson when I bought a coin that was recommended in Telegram. This is all because I wanted to hit a big jackpot, so I went into it with a big shoulder. It turned out to be the liquidation of the position, then I still did not know much

Cryptocurrency is a thing where you can't say anything with certainty. Do we work to go home?  However, if this cryptocurrency needs someone's advice, you must seek advice from a senior experienced person.  Never take advice from new guys but work there thoughtfully.  Because cryptocurrency is wrong but there is no forgiveness. So whatever you do, always think.

I've also seen such advice and I bought it, one thing I know is, when you have friends who are your profession (traders), they will show you a number of coins they bought with technical analysis that can be understood, so that other traders will buy coins and the price will go up, I'm not sure it's a coincidence, but the coins bought must have a good product.

Listening is not a bad thing, just make sure that its from a reliable sources or people who knows what they're talking about. Its good to learn from your mistake, however its better to learn from other people's mistake.

the cryptocurrency market is very young, and in my opinion you cannot listen to people even experienced in trading, because no one can know what will happen to the crypto next
Then does this mean you have not learnt any cryptocurrency related thing from any body? At some point we most and taking some sort of advice from some one and once it is about cryptocurrency, it definitely has to do with trading but what should be is, how you use what you gathered from these crypto people.

You don't need to listen to anyone, even experienced investors and traders, since no one knows how the market will behave tomorrow. You need to make decisions only yourself and then not to blame anyone.

I would say that dont listen to anyone opinion at all. Ok, you might listen, but make conclusion by yourself. These cryptocurrency guys gives tons of predictions, easily edit their previous announcements and tell "truth for money". But listener always risks with his own money. His is the only one responsible for the final result.

No need to regret what you have done and make things better in the future.

We don't need to listen to other people's suggestions, but we also need advice from others.
The reason is because when we want to make a decision sometimes we are confused about whether it is the best, and it causes you to be confused. So you need to get suggestions from other people for your consideration.
You don't need to do suggestions from other people after they say it, but you need to think again and how best.

Things like this have often been experienced by several traders and I am one of them. But for me it is my best experience

Many people around are talking about everything. There is neither strength nor time to listen to everyone. One says one thing, the other is completely opposite. You need to think with your own head, analyzing what is happening around you. So if you make a mistake, then yourself. You will not regret anything later.

That's why we ALWAYS do, our own research. Nobody, can predict the future. Cryptocurrency, is risky.

Now there is a growing market and you do not need to predict the growth of a lot of mind. So it was in 2017, and so it is now. Only when the market slumps will these analysts quickly lose everything. You can listen, but do it your own way otherwise you will blame them if your asset becomes worthless.

If you want to listen to something n crypto, just listen to the one who really knows about it, they're experts or crypto enthusiasts that have been analyzing and doing research on it based on fundamentals and also technicals.
