Whatsoever year's we are the success and failure of the project depends on their funds and communities undeniable support. Although it is advantage to run a project at the right momentum where bullish trend is there than in bearish time. Bearish momentum could be so drought while bullish is blooming market. There are more money at bullish than Bearish. Probably most of 2018 projects were inactive now due to long drought.

The fact is that a rather long period has passed and if the team has been inactive during all this time and has not done anything to promote its project, then the projects have definitely died since 2018, with a few exceptions.

Basically, almost all projects that could not start, or could not survive in 2018, will no longer be able to revive again at the moment. The conditions have changed a lot, the requirements have increased. It is much easier to create a new project on a new basis.

The future of the 2018 crypto project The projects we left behind were much worse but at present with the rise in the value of cryptocurrencies projects are improving and new projects are being added with the rise in the price of currencies. The future of crypto projects is much better this year than in 2018.

Yes, of course they can. Some projects are just still working on their product and once the product is completed, they can start to flourish in the market.

If the team works and follows the roadmap, the project will be successful. I want to give an example of the Akropolis project, the project was released in 2018, then the team worked on updates for a long time, in 2019 the tokens appeared on the exchange, and today the project is working!

The main thing is to look how many days they have worked and how far they have come. Whether their fund has been rice. However, most of the projects that have been working for a long time and later they have escaped from there. Very few projects come to market after a long time and can give good results.

The success of projects does not depend on their lifespan, for example Binance appeared in 2017 but still exists and develops very well. Communities will pay attention to good development projects, useful products and a dynamic #DevelopmentTeam . I believe that during this bullrun most of the market will get the momentum to grow, especially small cap projects. Their volatility can reach x300.

The alt season was occurred 2018 in January but it was just a short time and the bearish market was starting.. Many projects were struggling that year but I'm pretty sure only few projects were successful.. I can't remember now what projects was started in the year 2018 and became successful.

It seems to me that this is quite a realistic scenario, because many projects that went to the ICO in 2018 had either the 4th quarter of 2020 or the first or second quarters of 2021 written in the roadmap as the year of release of the final product. And if the project has been working steadily developing all this time then the result will not be long in coming

Any project, whether young or old, as long as it is legit, has the same chance of succeeding, it all depends on how the project is managed by its owners, and also the community behind the project , just like some people have said here, the success of the project lies in the hands of the project owners and the community behind the the project, funding is also very important for the success of the project, but this I believe falls under the owners of the project.

How many projects survived that conducted ICOs from the end of 2018 to 2020?  Very little, I think.  Since the fundrasing was very low. It was very difficult time

There are so many projects that were created in 2018. The next question is how is their team? If they still exist, I personally believe that the [rofject still has the future. However, if the team is gone, I am not sure the project will be still worthy

Crypto projects that existed in 2018 on average were all Crypto projects based on ERC20, and we all know The high transaction fees of the ERC20 Blockchain have really stunted the growth of many Ethereum-based Crypto projects. And we know that currently a project based on the BSC network is a new project that is born and has a very fast development. I think the changes that must be made by projects that were born in 2018 are needed to be able to develop now.

I took participated many projects ( scams projects) that I can't remember now. But some projects have now value but very low. I think it can't be recovered anyhow.

A project can be succeed by its proper plan implementation, team's activeness and few factors. It can't rely on time span either 2018 or earlier. We have seen many projects got succeed after 2018 but if the projects became dead, team is unseen, no real value to the investors, won't be succeeded normally.

As long as the developers are still active to improve the product from the platform they built from 2018, I think the project can compete with the current project.
I've seen a lot of projects switch to the BSC network and the team doesn't seem to want to be left behind by some of the progress that's been made.

Coins of over four years now might have been silent doesn't mean they are dead, they might be having the issues of maintaining their project and keeping it updated and which is one big responsibility of every project to be able to keep up with the competition in the market in other not to be left aside. It is also one thing that the proper functionality of any project is that the price must be on the constant change with the market, not being stagnant.
Coins/projects that are recently launched and are doing well might be because of the new technology that has evolved and changed the view of things from the old one. That is why only the coins that are constantly working on their project and keeping updated are the ones that are still surviving.
I will say, if the coins of 2018 doesn't keep up working on their project(s), they will drop out for the new coins to take their place, while the coins that has a working team keeps up with their own position, moving with the trend in the system.

Old projects that failed to adapt to the changing tempo of the cryptocurrency industry are now left behind and many of them can now be called officially as dead or better yet shitcoins. In 2018, there was that "lending coin" craze but just months after the trend fizzled out, and now we can see that the trend is DeFi and there are certainly similarities but we can say that DeFi are better structured to produce more returns yet has some stability within the system itself. Many of the people involved with those projects in the past now are involved with new platforms so we can never expect them to go back and pick the pieces...remember that in cryptocurrency once the project is deserted only a miracle can save it.

Of all the answers i read, only your answer is the most correct (I will give karma after becoming a Sr member)

I have stored more than 100 different coins from the 2018 project and in fact none of them have any value. It is all because many projects abandoned their coins causing them to be removed from the listed exchanges.
I always wonder what is the cause of all this? And here is the right answer as you said old projects cannot keep up with new projects based on DeFi.

In my opinion of this topic, Its definitely nothing. Based on my experienced I have many pending tokens that came from year 2018 ICO projects until now not yet been listed on their target exchanges.
