Our world is experiencing rapid climate change, which is mainly due to the increase in carbon emissions to the atmosphere.
Improvement of technologies in the field of renewable energy sources is constantly developing, but faces a number of serious problems and difficulties. The main problem is that renewable energy sources are still too expensive for most consumers. This reduces the opportunities for their mass use and forces to give preference to more affordable electricity produced by fossil fuels.
What is Zero Carbon?
The Zero Carbon project is struggling with climate change with the help of a blockchain and international quotas for carbon emissions (carbon credits). Main goal of the project — to reduce carbon emissions faster than renewable energy.
The Zero Carbon project consists of two parts:
Supply of energy at a lower price than the existing contracts from renewable sources and fossil fuels;
Involving people in the use of the Zero Carbon project by providing a reward-based compensation scheme to encourage consumers for their participation in the project and encouraging them to do so.
Suppliers, through the use of renewable energy sources and Blockchain technology, will be able to sign contracts for the supply of electricity with the most favorable conditions for customers without intermediaries. Thanks to this, they will be able to attract a huge number of consumers, which will allow them to expand their own business.
Consumers will be able to receive electricity at a cost of 0.01 USD per 1 kW. At the moment, this price is the lowest in the world. When performing financial transactions within the platform, an NRG token will be used. Suppliers use token to pay a commission for the transaction of energy and the use of platform services. 70 percent of the amount thus received is transferred to energy consumers as a reward for the use of carbon-free energy, thereby lowering the cost of electricity.
Despite the fact that the cost of coins along with the accession of new users and energy suppliers to the platform will increase, the cost of electricity will always remain $ 0.01 per 1 kW.
