Title: Your first investment in crypto market
Post by: MrSpasybo on March 19, 2021, 05:09:49 PM
Anyone who comes to the crypto market has a purpose, most of them want to profit from this very potential market. I think the first investment will always be one of the most memorable impressions for every investor or trader & holder. I believe it's really interesting and gives some value to the entire community.

Please share your first investment in the crypto market.

Let me begin this interesting discussion.
I officially entered the crypto market in 2017, not because of the ICO but because of one of the biggest ponzi projects - Bitconnect. I bought BTC but luckily I am not involved in Bitconnect.
But I lost $150 on another Lending project called the Golden Reward. I registered MEW wallet through a fake website and lost all my crypto assets. The bad guy sold my GRX to ETH, 1.3 ETH, and then appropriated it.
However that is not my first investment :)
The first investment is a CAPP - an ICO. I also invested $150 = 25K CAPP, and after that, my account increased to over 8K USD in a short time when 1 CAPP = $0.48. I never had that huge profit, but greed made me continue to expect that my assets will be 10K or $20K.
All dreams are pink, and reality is gray.

The CAPP token price quickly falls back to $0.0004, which is lower 1000 times. I was quite shocked to lose that huge profit.

Right now the CAPP price is getting back to $0.005, and it looks like I'm about to get my $150 USD back in capital ^^

Let hold when you understand the project. Sell when you are satisfied with your profit criteria.

If we talk about the first purchase of cryptocurrency, that it was NEM, then the coin was on the ear of the entire crypto community (it was the summer of 2017). And if we are talking about participating in the ICO, then it was the Tierion (TNT) project.

First, let me say you are a great man @poster, for still holding that token from 2017 ICO to this moment, personally, I've never held any token this long except shitcoins which I got from different airdrop when airdrops was still rampant in 2017, and my reason for holding them till now is because there's no way to sell them, and even if there is, the transaction fees will be way higher than what you stand to get from the sell.
I personally didn't invest in ICOs in 2017 cus I've always been afraid of loosing my money in a fake or scam project, but I was very active in bounty campaigns back then, and the first campaign which made almost made me a millionaire in my local currency was peculium, the project is still very much around today but I believe much isn't happening with it, though it was very promising back then.

My first purchased cryptocurrency only Ethereum selling of bitcoin. I got Bitcoin and sold Bitcoin and purchased only second King coin Ethereum. But recently I hate Ethereum due to a huge amounts of Ethereum network fees.

Looks like you also missed out on the opportunity to sell XEM at ATH in January 2018 for $1.87.
Coincidentally I just bought XEM yesterday, and according to my expectations XEM will hit $4 this year, which is x10 from current $0.4 price. Of course I only invest $20.

I entered in cryptocurrencies market more than three years ago but my first bounty campaign rewards was Twitter campaign (Yahoo62678) managed bounties (35 dollars worth bitcoin). Laterly I invested in matrix al network (MAN).
MAN price has grown 300% in the past 1 year, capitalization is only about $8.5M, if MAN is supported, MAN price will increase very strongly.

My first investment was tronix, got introduced through a friend, just like the OP I have also lost money in ponzi scheme site until I found crypto, 2017 I bought some trx and it did really well but as a newbie I was not expecting to see my wallet fall so hard after such huge profit, I didn't catch out was thinking it will continue but experience thought me real hard.
TRON is really good and TRX has the potential to go up during this bullrun, but its capitalization is quite large so it takes more time for us to see the bull run. Anyway in the past 1 year, the TRX price has increased 450%.
Please stay away from scam projects, just learn a little about the project, you will protect your money easily.

I still keep tokens in the ICO because I couldn't sell them in time ^^
Currently, IEOs & IDOs are very popular and can bring great profits to investors, with safety many times higher than ICOs.

My first purchased cryptocurrency only Ethereum selling of bitcoin. I got Bitcoin and sold Bitcoin and purchased only second King coin Ethereum. But recently I hate Ethereum due to a huge amounts of Ethereum network fees.
You can transfer ETH to exchanges ready to sell them when needed. If you can choose a good time, you only need to pay a transaction fee of about $3-5.

I think BTC and ETH are the best crypto coins, so it will be safe to buy and hold these coins as the first coins to buy for my crypto investment.

One of my most memorable early investments was with Bitcoin. It was the first time I bought BTC on Remitano in 2017, it was about 7K USD per BTC. I originally planned to invest in ICO projects but in early 2018, the collapse of Bitconnect & Bitcoin made me quite nervous, I rushed to sell my BTC for 10K USD, in the end I still made a profit ~200 USD. That was my first return in the crypto market.

My first investment was Monero a few months after starting my steps in the world of cryptocurrencies, I bought very few coins because I was afraid of losing them, but I finally sold them weeks later and made some profit.

@robert20 don't worry, you are in the best place to earn coins/tokens in various bounties and learn a little more with the rest of the users about trading.

I am investing in several new coins or tokens that I got from Bounty rewards, however, they are going to be zero, they're dead coins such as Bitscreener, MPCX, and also some others.
Well, and I really want to forget about them and continue to this current trading condition. I am rather than as a trader but not a daily trader, I come to spot trading for both scalping or even short-term taking profits.

Wow, this must be a memory lane. I also invested with Bitconnect and even promoted the same for around 2 referrals. Though it became one of the most famous scams in the history of cryptocurrency, I made some money with it because I was able to withdraw my money before it went to the ground. Sad story. Now, this is not actually my first investment but this another scam project: TBC or The Billion Coin which eventually just died a natural death. Since then, I got into may bad projects and good ones as well.

I believe many people come to Crypto because of Lending 1.0 projects such as Bitconnect, RegalCoin, HexaCoin, FistCoin... Simply because they last a long time and the ponzi model brings great profits to many early participants.
It's a pity, but for everyone who has sad memories, the crypto market is no exception. Sometimes early falls will help reduce future losses.

You did the right thing to put your first investment in Bitcoin as we know Bitcoin is the most prominent coin in crypto ecosystem. wow, it seems that I have known it for a long time but I did not do anything even though my friend told me, when I got interested it was no different from your year, where the end of the year bitcoin increased very sharply or ATH.
but I didn't immediately get to know bitcoin first but instead, altcoins were just growing and not long after that made sure to focus on bitcoin, again not as smooth as what I expected because of the many temptations, compared to holding altcoins. currently in a rising price situation I finally got to see the fact that I couldn't enjoy a sharp increase from bitcoin. but I do not regret it, because it was not lucky I did not get there.

Please share your first investment in the crypto market.
my first investment was only in bitcoin. but for the first investment in my ICO project is ethLend in 2017.
the first time i just became a bounty hunter of the project. but when i read in more detail the project objectives i decided to invest $ 528 and get 30,000 token (at an ICO price of $ 0.0176)
after that i also got from the bounty of 60,000 Lend token. so my total token are 90,000.
after that i just waited until early 2018 for the LEND token price to be $ 0.12 and i decided to sell my token from the ICO 30,000 = $ 3,600 i already got a profit of $ 3000.
and the token from the bounty i kept until the LEND token swapped to Aave coin with an appeal of 1:100
so the token bounty proceed from 60,000 to 600 Aave coin.
and i did not think that the LEND token price after swap to Aave contract from $ 0.12 to $ 400.
so that if i sell my coin now i would have made a profit of $ 240,000
this is the first investment that really makes me happy

Let hold when you understand the project. Sell when you are satisfied with your profit criteria.
you are right, because if we don't sell when the price has reached our target and just wait for the price to be higher, it is greed that lead us to losses.

Five years ago, Bitcoin Ethereum was considered the best cryptocurrencies for investment, because other projects were used to generate short-term profits and so far few of them have survived. At this time, we have quite a lot of even new projects that have surpassed all our expectations and deserve to be considered quite profitable assets for investment. But in turn, I would like to note that everyone chooses at their own peril and risk a specific project and the time to go into it. It happens that projects have already reached their maximum value and the duration of growth is questionable.

A great investment tactic, you sell take profit right in 2017 & continue to hold a portion up to now to convert to AAVE and continue to keep it to a very good price.
240K USD is a really huge and desirable profit for every bounty hunters.
Thanks for your interesting share & congratulation!

always regret will come in the end, but all that must be a lesson, because the crypto journey is still long and possible to repeat. although it may be a bit difficult but with a strong will it will happen again.

Currently ethereum is very good to remain as a long-term investment, even though the issue of high transaction costs has not been resolved, it does not make investors flinch, but we will not know in the future if there is another platform with cheap transactions willing to try to replace it might change. But it all depends on the owner who determines the project whether he wants to use the ethereum platform.

I don't know weather anybody knows about Bitcoin white I actually invested in that Cryptocurrency project in the early 2018 but I lost it because the project did not succeed as of that time, what savedroid and Data since 2018 till date we have not heard anything about the project again that means is actually dead, these has taught me alot of experience in cryptocurrency project.

At that time, the Bitcoin white project was pretty well known. I also participated in it, and, unfortunately, lost my savings. I didn't have to listen to any analysts, but I had to sell as I wanted. One of my acquaintances did not listen to anyone and sold coins for very decent money. We need to live our mind)

i hope that this year there will be a new project that has the same concept as ETHLend and makes us happy together when investing there.

btw i have a thought that this year there is a project that is almost similar to Ethlend and is likely to be successful, namely STC
i've invested there and hope to feel like 2017  :D

My first coin was OCtoin, I wanted to laugh at this coin because I was trapped by the many media advertising this ponzi coin, then I replaced the coin and rented an ethereum mining pool.
Surprisingly, after 3 months the occ coins were listed on the exchange, the price of 1 coin became $100 and I lost my chance to make a profit because my coin could not be withdrawn because it has been frozen to rent ethereum mining.
1 year later, no news from team members and i left ethereum and occ coins i have on their platform.
From there I started to learn how to look at a good and honest project, it was very complicated but from experience I was able to learn to make investment decisions.

I invested in Bitcoin for my first coin in my wallet. It was several years ago, unfortunately I already sold my first BTC. Then I remembered that I bought some altcoins, I hold the altcoins for few months, then I also sold the altcoins to the market. I have no those first coins in my wallets anymore that I bought several years ago.

I didn't remember what coin that I bought for the first time. It was already a long time ago, I think it is not really necessary to remember. Most coins I bought the first time I come to crypto forum are altcoins, I rarely buy Bitcoin. I think it will be easier to get profits from holding or trading with altcoins.

The first thing why I joined the crypto is only looking for money without any investment because I have no funds at that time. I started joining the bounty to get the rewards and the rewards themselves become the modal for my investment. I quite forget about what the first investment because it has been several years ago. So, I think that the rewards from the bounty will be converted to BTC/ETH/ or stable coins USDT

@xeroz
Altcoins always have greater volatility than Bitcoin and offer more opportunities for holders. We all know the 1: 10: 100 rule of the market in the bullrun, that Bitcoin has the potential to increase by 10 times, the altcoin has the potential to increase in price 100 times.
Currently, I also hold 99% of the altcoin, only a little bit of Bitcoin is kept and can not do anything because it is too low in value, only about a few tens of dollars.

@UNIVERSE
A good tactic of Bounty hunters! Many people always only exchange rewards for stable coins and miss many price increases, in contrast, there are hunters who dare not sell any tokens and miss many opportunities. I believe many people also have their first lifetime investment from tokens in bounty campaigns. With good investment tactics, a few tens of dollars in bounty can turn into thousands of dollars during the growth season.

When I first arrived in the cryptocurrency market, I bought and invested in Binans Coin BNB. I bought and invested in 10 BNB.  But today I have made a lot of profit from here. For the first time in my life, I think I have made a lot of profit.  However, I have not sold my coins yet. I thought I would sell BNB if the price is $500.

I joined crypto in 2017 and at that time I only invested in bitcoin and eth.
Because at that time I only knew the two coins and wasn't familiar with the ICO.
But mid-2017 I started to understand how to invest in ICO projects and I tried investing in betterbetting projects. During the ICO I bought a coin for $ 0.02 and after the ICO was completed the betterbetting token was listed on the market and the price was $ 0.14. At that moment I didn't think it took too long for me to sell all my tokens

You did the right decision to buy BNB coin at that time. You actually bought a quite big number of BNB coins, it is 10 BNB, right? Can I know how much the price of the BNB coin at that time? I didn't buy BNB coin at that time, I prefer buying Ethereum and Tron, these are my favorite altcoins. However, they are also growing well, the prices increased a lot.

Congratulations on your successful investment x7 right after the token was listed. I am quite curious and want to know what token you have invested in and what is its development now?

I believe that for many people, the 2017 ICO is a sadness to forget. An estimated 90% of ICO projects that year disappeared from the market or dropped 99% in price. If we check the price of a token and see it hit a very high ATH in late 2017 or early 2018, we can speculate that it is an ICO in 2017 ^^

Investing in BNB is a wise decision as many professional traders predict the price of BNB will reach 480 USD during this bullrun. Up to now, the price of BNB has increased 26 times in the past year. A performance too terrible for a coin top 3 of crypto market.
Congratulations on your smart investment in BNB. A good start in this market.

The story of the OP's experience is really sad but from all of that there will definitely be such a brilliant day.
I am sure that everything will run easily and everyone also believes that this cryptocurrency if we learn there will definitely be success and failure from a project.
I don't think it's going to be greedy because all of these things can cost us money, including trading the top 10 coins on Coinmarketcap.

In 2016, I bought MobileGo cryptocurrency for the first time and made quite good money, because during the pre-sale the token was bought several times cheaper than the declared price by the developers. And after listing on the stock exchange, this coin soared at least 100 times. Today the coin price is $ 0.03, and I was selling at $ 2.50, although its value rose to $ 9.

My first investment in cryptocurrency was a bounty.
I never deposit money to buy coins or participate in iCO and IEO events.
I love bounty signatures like the Ferrum, HEX, and AMEpay projects, all of which benefit me.
But unfortunately I sold too early because all the coins I mentioned went up in price only 1 year after distribution.

Me too, I also sold early my coin after got the coin. Because I asked my friend, should be hold or sell ? My friend answer, if we are bounty hunter, should sell early. I think it's my mistake. I should divide my coin for hold and sell. That's a good way to do.

I believe that we should move away from the views that prevailed among the Boundy Hunters two years ago. Today, if we are participating in really promising projects, then it is better to keep our reward, let it be a year or two, but it will bring us 100 x or 1000 X If we are lucky.

My first buying was a DeepOnion coin and it has given me a good profit in a very short span, later on, I bought Pundi and BABB also all were good investments of that time in 2018-2019 but I hold some DeepOnion and BABB but now they are almost more than 90% down So greed teaches me a bitter lesson I am not in loss but I can earn more profit by selling at that time.

I have actually been in the Cryptocurrency space for quite a long time but my best and proper investment was when I invested in $BLUES, the native token of #Blueshift. And from my experience so far the community is really doing great and their DEX is top notch, recently there is cross-chain integration with @symbiosis_fi, which now enables users to swap $BLUES into any token such as #bitcoin, #Ethereum and vise versa.
