“Bitcoin should be worth $72,000 today and may hit $288,000 this year”
According to a formula developed by one of advisor board members of the Chamber of Digital Commerce, today the world’s largest crypto should be valued at $72,000.
Perianne Boring pointed out that this formula is used by numerous technology investors these days for evaluating a network.
However, there is another model the Chamber uses – the well-known stock-to-flow (adopted for Bitcoin by the famous analyst and investor known as Plan B) model.
According to it, the flagship cryptocurrency should be priced at $100,000 or $288,000 in 2020. She mentioned that using USD in evaluating Bitcoin via stock-to-flow, this model becomes 94 percent correlated to BTC.
And if you use gold in this model for Bitcoin, stock-to-flow becomes 99 percent correlated.
“Bitcoin is eating gold”
The president of the Chamber of Digital Commerce also explained what analysts mean when they say that Bitcoin is eating gold.
According to the aforementioned stock-to-flow model, by 2029, one Bitcoin will be worth ten thousand ounces of gold – that’s the explanation Boring offered.
Gold still fails to recover above $2,000
XAU has been down since August last year, when it managed to hit an all-time high of $2,075. By November 30, it went down to $1,763 and at the moment is trading at the $1,739 level.
Bitcoin surged to a new all-time high of $61,800 on Sunday March 14, then retouched $60,000 on April 2. As of writing this article, BTC is changing hands at $58,650.
Prominent Bitcoin hater and gold bug Peter Schiff, however, believes that this is a temporary issue for gold and that in the future investors will turn back to it, dumping Bitcoin for good.
