Title: Marketcap
Post by: hobo66 on May 24, 2021, 07:25:41 PM
Market cap is based on Circulating supply (coins which have been produced or released. Like Bitcoins 18.7 M. Fully diluted is based on total coins to be ever produced or released (like Bitcoins 21M. Some coins have unlimited total supply like DOGE. Others can have their contract modified which will affect availability going forward, like Ethereum will start burning (destroying) tokens with the release of EIP-1559 thereby making coins more scarce and valuable.
At short. We can say
Amount of coins in circulation * price per coin = market cap

We also have rebase tokens that increase and decrease depending on the rebase that was printed before daily candles closes.
Either way, market cap on coinmarketcap.com isn't sometimes properly well displayed, one has to contact them before they do update which was supposed to be automatically enabled with real time activities via Chainlink.

I think your calculation is perfect Total coins in circulation X price per coin = Marketcap. I also believe after Implementing EIP-1559 that is expected in the month of July with the London Hard Fork. We will see a push in the price of Ethereum. As I read when it will be implemented transaction time will be reduced.

I am mostly interested in Ethereum 2.0 as it will do the transaction cheaper and faster also make ETH more scarce resulting in a boost in the price of  Ethereum. I am waiting for it for so long. I think we  will see eth 2.0 by the end of 2021 and enjoy a smaller fee.

Cryptocurrencies are one of the most interesting asset groups.
They always 'behave' in an illogical but interesting way.
It's hard to analyse, but it makes for excellent returns.
It is worth exploring in more detail.
