Bank of Canada sees no strong case for a digital dollar — For now

Amid the global CBDC race, the Canadian central bank does not currently see a strong case for issuing a state digital currency.

Seems to me that leaders in the finance sector of Canada failed to see the importance and competitive advantage of having its own digital currency or CBDC. Soon they will be amazed to see that the leadership on this arena has been awarded into China and by that time it can already be too late to make the move. I don't think China will be invested too much with CBDC if they are not seeing a good deal of value with it. Any country which failed to see this vision will really suffer.

It is difficult to judge the decision taken by the Bank of Canada in the decision not to issue the digital currency of the central bank, I think this is a misconception. Many countries are just trying to quickly introduce their cryptocurrency into circulation.

One thing that the passage of time in cryptocurrencies has taught me is that when large banks or investment groups say that they are not going to do something it is precisely because they are already doing it, they may believe that it is a tactic to "cheat" the competition and citizens. I have never trusted banks, which is why I like cryptocurrencies.
