Title: MetaMask Expands DeFi Functionality For Institutional Entities
Post by: Rain075 on June 12, 2021, 10:35:29 AM
MetaMask – the world’s most popular Web3 gateway and wallet announced on 10 June that it’s expanding it’s renowned multi-chain functionality to institutional entities, by offering a new variant – MetaMask Institutional. The ConsenSys owned platform which covers Ethereum and other EVM compatible blockchains, now aims to lure institutional players, hedge funds, corporate entities into the world of decentralized finance (DeFi).source (https://cryptonews.net/793737/?utm_source=CryptoNews&utm_medium=app&utm_campaign=shared)

I don't know why, but compared to MEW, MetaMask requires a much higher gas fee. I have tried sending tokens from MetaMask & MEW at the same time with the same gas, and the transaction on MEW is done faster than MetaMask.
In addition, the swap fee on MetaMask is 0.875%, which is too high compared to 0.3% on UniSwap.

MetaMask has the functionality of a DEX but I have never used it because the transaction costs are too high compared to UniSwap and PancakeSwap. I hope MetaMask will change the transaction fee to get more customers if MetaMask wants to support more efficient DEX in the future.

Good multicurrency wallet is hard to find

Usually, multicurrency wallets lacks basic bitcoin features,  such as coin control.

Coinomi didn't have that problem, but it's already abandoned and don't get updates anymore.

Exodus and Unstoppable looks like the best alternatives so far for multicurrency,  but both lacks coin control

For weeks, such interesting news has come out.

The news itself: "Consensys, the operator of the MetaMask cryptocurrency wallet, has announced the launch of suspicious transaction alerts. The feature is available to every wallet user by default. As Consensys representatives promise, thanks to the new feature, customers will be able to learn about suspicious transactions before they are signed. The feature supports work in several networks: Eth, BNB Chain, Linea, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism and Avalanche.

P.S. Do you use this wallet on a regular basis?

This link is in Russian, so I was not able to understand the details.
Adding this feature is good for beginners who may not know much about cryptocurrencies, but I see that MetaMask is becoming more centralized, which may eventually lead to them creating very centralized solutions, such as the option of encrypting seeds online or recovery services. Therefore, whoever wants to maintain his privacy, there is a better alternative than MetaMask, even though it is good currently.

P.S. This feature has really been missing for a long time as far as I am concerned. It's great that updates are happening. You won't have to manually search for something.  8)

MetaMask have launched the "Eligible Airdrops" feature, which helps to check the eligibility of airdrop tokens and NFTs in different grids.

MetaMask has introduced "smart transactions" to combat certain types of MEV bots that front-end transactions.

To do this, they will be directed to a "virtual mempool" before implementation. The pool will also support transaction prediction, which will also help reduce commission costs.

This week the media reported about MetaMask's work on bitcoin integration. As part of the "Gold Fund" rubric, we offer to recall what MetaMask is, what its advantages and disadvantages are, and what blockchains it uses.

P.S. Does anyone else use this wallet? I personally use it 50/50 - according to my mood, if I may say so.  ;D

MetaMask has introduced the Ethereum Pooled Staking feature to lower the entry threshold for ordinary users. Pooled Staking will bypass the minimum limit of 32 ETH ($113,000) by depositing a portion of coins into a single pool.

P.S. For the last few days, is everyone's wallet working normally? I'm getting errors for some reason + started to slow down. I have no idea what this may be related to. If anyone knows how to solve the problem, I would appreciate the help.  ???

Will it be decentralized or must I send to a specific address to get a return?

It must be a sync issue, use a VPN, or reset the wallet to default.

I haven't had any issues with MM wallet unless I'm using BSC network. It's been a few weeks now and I don't know what's wrong, I've been using RPC as in chainlist preset or adding via Coingecko.

I think it's still in your control. cmiiw

Very good, I deleted MM a few months ago, I will install it and try ETH staking.

I just recently transferred my Ethereum to an exchange from MyEtherWallet and the gas is just acceptable...according to the known published rates at the time. I have never experienced comparing MEW and MetaMask and it is good to hear what you just learned that MetaMask is actually charging higher. I think this is an area MetaMask should look into but then again this must be their sweet profit spot so we should never expect they would do something about it. There is no question that MetaMask has successfully rounded up the crypto market and it is becoming the big leader in the industry...and of course its foray into the institutional market can cement its leadership so well.

I think metamask just wants to maintain the user experience to avoid transaction failures if using their wallet. Users can set their own fees anyway and the slightly higher fees here are not really for metamask's pocket (except direct swap fees).

MetaMask does not collect the money from transaction fees, and those who collect the fees are the network’s validators. MetaMask may give a bad estimate of the fees higher fees than other wallets, but since you can modify and customize the fees, you will not pay higher fees.

https://beaconcha.in/gasnow is a good service for tracking gas fees.

Thanks, the problem was that I had to reset the wallet + uninstall and reinstall (just in case) = no problems.

P.S. I initially thought the problem was with the VPN, but before that there was no problem when it was enabled. Clearly it was not the problem. So if anyone is having this kind of difficulty. Immediately write down the seed phrase = reinstall the wallet.  ???
