There are now popular altcoins that are making many developments and are considered to be as "Ethereum Killers" though that term can really be debatable. With the way things Ethereum is solving its scalability problems, it seems to me that it is finding it hard to solve the gas issues and as a natural reaction many are shifting their eyes with good alternatives. As of now, Solana, Cardano, Polkadot are making their stakes on the market...that is aside from Binance Smart Chain which has been the top choice as Ethereum alternative.
Do you think which of these alts will eventually be on the same level as Ethereum...maybe in the next two years?

Originality, once maintain its popularity, partnership, use case, reputation, and chemistry in crypto will always be the top 1. Despite of massive growth of ADA, SOL, DOT and BNB. Still ETH is the top 1 unless the reputation will be destroy.
In fact we're aware about ETH recent updated though it wasn't successful, the important is the progress and solving the problem relentlessly.
Let each coin do their own part while ETH gas fee is embarrassing. :D

At the moment, I think Ethereum's main competitors are Cardano & PolkaDot.
Cardano has an academic edge as all its code is verified by top Universities.
PolkaDot is expected to become layer-0 for all crypto markets in the future.
I personally prefer Cardano, because it is scientifically and carefully built.

Etherium have big bug from longtime that's is its network fees for making any transcation . Still i don't think their is any network who overtake Etherium popularity .
But i can say , ada and sol both are Etherium killer . Bsc network also good, but we can't do many things which we can do in Etherium network .
I have plan to hold ada and sol for longterm goal !!

Because more difficult to be the next bitcoin, I think It's the reason why top coins fighting to be the next Ethereum.
It can say, Impossible to be the next bitcoin for the few years.
I see cardan and BNB are the best competitor for Ethereum.

Binance smart chain is really now popular so I believe the Binance smart chain will be the same level of ethereum in the future but I'm hoping to the other networks like polygon, tron will be also popular so that we have more alternative network to choose and which is the cheapest transaction fees..

We already have so much alternative chain to choose. Its up to us what we gonna like the most depends on transaction fee, transaction per second, user friendly, and what available chain.

I think Solana has good potential in the future, but unfortunately there are coins that don't like it when SOLANA is at the top, so they spread FUD against Solana. Ethereum seems very difficult to match, even if it's by BNB or Cardano. Even I think BNB and Cardano in the future will lose to Solana.

Actually, there are several coins that are willing to fight Ethereum and become the competitor of ETH.
We know that in the past time, NEO and EOS were always competing with Ethereum.

I think ethereum is currently still able to survive at high prices because of the influence of the support of the whales and investors who are still on ethereum, whereas if there is a FUD that attacks ethereum then the price will definitely collapse, until now ethereum is still a safe big coin.

I can sense that this is the best time for other popular networks to make their respective platforms robust while the Ethereum transaction fees are still ridiculous because once it can go back to normal then most probably it would be so difficult to compete with Ethereum. BSC, Solana, ADA, Polkadot, Polygon and others must take this window of opportunity to get into actions and solidify themselves so they can attract more users and loyal following.

And where are the guarantees that when, let's say, what - a new powerful project that will replace Ethereum will not overestimate the commission after that? After all, Ethereum is still the most stable network.

Indeed, many who want to compete to be the "ethereum killer" but that would be very difficult in my opinion. ADA, DOT and Solana can be said to be new projects that are developing, while ethereum is far from it. I think two years is still not enough, but it doesn't hurt that we also invest those three coins.

Out of those 3 you mentioned, I would keep a beady eye on Polkadot. Though I have no bag, I think its wholly undervalued and underbought. Prolly would get some in the next bear cycle

Indeed, sol has many advantages of low fees and fast transactions, so it's no wonder it performs so well to become the next ETH. DOT also has a chance for that

I think any project that aims to help those gas fees, that's a good start. Somewhat a similar thing with Bitcoin ...over time the fees became too much, transaction times slowed etc

It seems to me that there is not much time left in the new blockchains. I think that if the etherium will realize what Vitalik is talking about a lot of people will go back to etherium and they will not be very interested in everything else.

Many investors are moving away, especially now because of the extra gas-free cracks in the ether.cardano ,Binnance,solona etc ,People have more confidence in these.There are many investors in this world who don't just trust Bitcoin and Etherium, they think about many more currencies and they invest there.That is why the number of investors in other currencies is increasing day by day.

I think If we talked about the same level to Ethereum , It's too far.
Cardano, polkadot, solana, and BSC of course.
In my opinion I think BSC will be the next Ethereum, because BSC is smart contract from BNB.
The third rank on CMC.

It is still too early to speculate about which platform can replace ethereum. We need to see what ethereum will look like after the current update, which has been going on for about a year. If everything goes to ethereum as planned, then this coin will be ahead of all altcoins for a long time. What do you mean by "same level"? I don't really understand this term.
BNB, ADA, SOL, and DOT have great progress lately, they deserve to call as real competitors for ETH. In the next two years, they must have improved well and probably be strong rivals for Ethereum. But to be at the same level as Ethereum, is not an easy thing, not sure to achieve in the next two years.

Many investors believe Ethereum 2.0 will solve high gas fee problem.
But until now Ethereum 2.0 launched , I see didn't have good effect
So, I think BSC and ADA will fight to Ethereum. that's my prediction about smart contract platform competition.

Ethereum Miners are the backbone of Ethereum but on the other hand, small traders do not want to pay hefty gas fees when there are options to do transactions comparatively at less prices. Most of us have huge expectations from the recent London Hardfork that the eth gas fee will be reduced after the Hard fork Implementation but honestly speaking nothing has been changed in terms of less Gas fees. It is true there are cheaper options available as compared to Ethereum but I don't think so even in 5 years any other coin match ethereums value.

I feel that ethereum is similar to bitcoin, its position cannot be shifted by other altcoins. even though ethereum fees are high, ethereum is still very popular and already has the second largest community after bitcoin. solana, polkadot and eos might be great but won't be able to shift ethereum.

You are right here, in fact, if the creator of ethereum does not resolve the issue with such gas prices, then indeed many altcoins can break it thanks to their gas price tag, because sometimes such huge gas prices are scared off, they sometimes seem ridiculous, so maybe we will soon we will see new leaders among altcoins.

Before, I am only thinking that their main competitor was Bsc, but now, they're many already like Polkadot, Matic(Polygon),
Ada( Cardano, Solana(Sol), and Tron(Trx), the competition by these competitors are very challenging now in the side of Ethereum, especially when they are facing some issues, like for high fee transaction for the ERC20 were its competitors are too cheap in terms of fee for every transactions.

New platforms are now rising. But the most closed is probably BNB or Binance platform.
BNB platform offers fast transactions and also low fees for transferring the BSC tokens. It is different with Ethereum that offers slower speed and of course very higher cost for gas gwei.

There are many smart contract platform that will compete with ethereum in the future, but I believe with the current market cap of ethereum, Ethereum will remain the top smart contract coin.
Terra, Fsn, and Hoo. these three platforms have low cost and they focus on financial system, we can do fast delivery transactions at low cost and if new platforms continue to be developed I think they will be an option for long term investment, as every developer will take advantage of the popularity of each platform before developing a new project.

Since the gas fee of Ethereum is still alarming, I guess it's a very beautiful opportunity for other alt coins like Sol, Near Ada and others. Considering their gas fees. Two years is quite a short time for these other coins to make progressions to Ethereum considering it's current price. I bet if the Ethereum should fix it's bugs within a short time, it will keep being bullish.

I think Bitcoin is next to Ethereum. Ethereum condition will be much better soon. Since the cryptocurrency market is volatile, and the price of each cryptocurrency rises and falls.From that point of view, the price of Bitcoin is far away. In 2018, it was funny to hear someone say that about Ethereum. But now this is a reality and many blockchains can push it.The same BSC comes on his heels and the whole community uses it.If Ethereum does not get cheaper commissions, then it will be bad for him.

Yes , I think the problem of Ethereum is high gas fee.
I hope Ethereum team will have solutions for this problem.

I thing, Polkadot, Cardano, Solana, and many others might have been inspired by smart contracts popularized by Vitality and his team but there will be no other Ethereum. Polkadot which currently has a very good ecosystem, Cardano, Avalanche and also NEO.

IMHO, I think If the trend will continue I guess it's more likely the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) will claim that spot, as the next Ethereum, otherwise, those competitors like Polkadot, Polygon, Solana, etc. will make a drastic move to innovate further in order to catch up the BSC supremacy as the leading alternatives to Ethereum Blockchain.

This coin is more cheap and faster.
Many projects already migrate and used BSC platform now.

There are not many rich people on the market who are willing to pay $30 per commission. The transition to 2.0 should take place a long time ago, but they are constantly being delayed. It make sense if I can say Binance is the number that has power to compete to ethereum. Binance is impressively increasing and now in uptrend. The approach and application of BNB is quite different and super effective. Maybe there are another chains and coins are there to compete to ethereum but for me only bnb is worth to compete as for now.

It's good thread but I think Ethereum is still superior as the king of smart contract platform.

For the same level to Ethereum in the next two years, I think BNB and cardano.
But I doubt BNB and cardano will have popularity as same as Ethereum in the next two years.
We all know about Ethereum that always be number second on CMC and always be The King of smart contract platform.
But anything can happen at crypto currency space.

Binance smart chain is much popular so I think the Binance smart chain will be the same level of ethereum in the future.but I'm awaiting to the several networks kind of polygon, tron will be too favored so that we have over different network to select and as is the cheapest contract fees.

Ethereum has always been at the very top of the altcoin top until now. And this is natural, because a lot of people invest in it who believe in this coin and at the same time get a good profit from investing in it. BSC is becoming more and more popular and soon I think that BSC will catch up with Ethereum blockchain, as you can see by yourselfs that already 2-3 years the gas price on the Ethereum blockchain has only been growing and unfortunately Ethereum blockchain is becoming a blockchain only for the rich people, and therefore I hope that in the future, BSC will overtake Ethereum blockchain, or at least I hope that Solana or Polkadot will also have a chance to overtake Ethereum blockchain.

Cardano is very potential coin but we all know cardano is not popular as Ethereum.

Ethereum and ADA are one entity, because the creators are the same person, so it can be ascertained that they were made with the aim of supporting each other and correcting their own shortcomings.

as a user actually with many alternatives of course it is very good if there is a lot of variety, so it will be easy to find where is the right time to use it. so that with lots of variety it will make it easier to be able to do where we will move together and it is legal as long as it is profitable for us.
